fekoll Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Ok so, i tried to load my recent save on SaveTool.exe and the program crashed when loading the specific save. I've already used SaveTool.exe before without any problems and i was able to clean some oprhan scripts, i didn't used the other option that says "Deleteall #" because it says that can do some things wrong. After some searching i've read that it can be some string bug issue. I can load the specific save just fine and play and save, everything works fine in game. This is the list of mods that i have: Masters for Save 283 - Lys Jorrvaskr 40.19.44.ess: 00 Skyrim.esm 01 Update.esm 02 Dawnguard.esm 03 HearthFires.esm 04 Dragonborn.esm 05 Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp [Version 3.0.6] 06 Unofficial Skyrim Modders Patch.esp 07 AzarHair.esm 08 EFFCore.esm 09 Schlongs of Skyrim - Core.esm 0A TouringCarriages.esp 0B Cutting Room Floor.esp [Version 2.0.3] 0C Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esp 0D RelightingSkyrim.esp 0E Relationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp 0F RDO - EFF v4.0.2 Patch.esp 10 SkyUI.esp 11 Dual Sheath Redux.esp 12 JaxonzDiagnostics.esp 13 ViewableFactionRanksBothDLC.esp 14 AMatterOfTime.esp [Version 2.00] 15 SpellChargingFramework.esp 16 Wintermyst - Enchantments of Skyrim.esp 17 Balanced_Magic.esp 18 UltimateDragons.esp 19 TrueStorms.esp 1A When Vampires Attack.esp [Version 2.0.6] 1B RelightingSkyrim_DG.esp 1C Point The Way.esp [Version 1.0.8] 1D Run For Your Lives.esp [Version 2.0.6] 1E WetandCold.esp 1F Melt_Down_Everything.esp 20 Rebirth Monster.esp 21 RelightingSkyrim_DB.esp 22 Remove Interior Fog V2 - Full Version.esp 23 Cloaks.esp 24 quest_thebiggertheyare.esp 25 RelightingSkyrim_HF.esp 26 HearthFire Display Case Fix.esp 27 SpellComboV2.esp 28 Dragon Soul Relinquishment.esp 29 quest_nomercy.esp 2A Immersive Patrols II.esp 2B quest_seaofghosts.esp 2C tos_laintardale_hf.esp 2D tos_laintardale.esp 2E tos_oakwood_hf.esp 2F tos_amber_guard.esp 30 tos_granitehall.esp 31 quest_pitfighter.esp 32 quest_sorcery.esp 33 quest_andtherealmsofdaedra.esp 34 BetterQuestObjectives.esp [Version 1.5.7] 35 EFFDialogue.esp 36 RDO - Cutting Room Floor Patch.esp 37 Schlongs of Skyrim.esp 38 SOS - Shop.esp 39 The Paarthurnax Dilemma.esp [Version 1.2.9] 3A Extended Encounters.esp 3B TC-CRF.esp <<<<<<< (Touring Carriages patch for CRF) 3C IceBladeOfTheMonarch.esp [Version 1.3] 3D Imaginator BETA.esp 3E Apocalypse - The Spell Package.esp 3F quest_pitfighter_dlc01.esp 40 Unique Uniques.esp [Version 1.8] 41 Black Mage Armor.esp 42 DragonRealShout.esp 43 Cloaks - Dawnguard.esp 44 1nivWICCloaks.esp [Version 2.3] 45 1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch.esp [Version 2.3] 46 Tribunal Robes by Zairaam.esp 47 Tribunal Maskes by Zairaam.esp 48 NARC.esp <<<<<< (to be able to kill animals and don't get arrested) 49 DragonBoneEbonsteel.esp 4A IridumEyes2.0.esp 4B dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Medium.esp 4C XPMSE.esp 4D RaceMenu.esp 4E RaceMenuPlugin.esp 4F FNIS.esp 50 Animated Dragon Wings.esp 51 More Draconic Dragon Aspect - Powered Edition.esp 52 More Draconic Dragon Aspect - Wings and Tail.esp 53 ExpandedJewelryCrafting.esp 54 Glass Mage Armor Ashlander Silver.esp 55 Glass Mage Armor Outlander Gold.esp 56 Glass Mage Armor Skyrim Vanilla.esp 57 Better Artifacts.esp 58 Better Artifacts - Dragon Priest Masks.esp 59 SkySight-Simply-Bigger-Trees-Slower-Branches.esp 5A Sleeved Guards Winter Overhaul.esp 5B UIExtensions.esp 5C VioLens.esp [Version 2.11] 5D conjure_chest.esp 5E GoToBed.esp 5F CrimsonTwilightArmor.esp 60 FNISSexyMove.esp 61 BetterQuestObjectives-CRFPatch.esp 62 BetterQuestObjectives-DBForevertoMisc.esp 63 BetterQuestObjectives-EFFPatch.esp 64 BetterQuestObjectives-PaarDilemmaPatch.esp 65 PC Head Tracking - MCM.esp 66 PC Head Tracking - Patch.esp 67 HoneyEyes.esp 68 ISD_DragonspearCraft.esp 69 El_WayfarersCoat.esp 6A ISD_Dragonspear.esp 6B R18pn - Shanoa Armors.esp 6C SOS - Phygnos Default Addon.esp 6D SOS - Smurf Average Addon.esp 6E SOS - VectorPlexus Muscular Addon.esp 6F SOS - VectorPlexus Regular Addon.esp 70 FS_Skycutter.esp 71 skyforgedWeapons.esp 72 skyforgedShields.esp 73 Bashed Patch, 0.esp <<<<< (this has 1kb only and i've never made a bashed patch) 74 Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp I use Wrye Bash only, i use LOOT, i have TES5edit and already cleaned what needed to be cleaned, i have all the essential things to run the game and avoid problems and stuff (SKSE, Crash Fixes, Bug Fixes, USLEEP, FNIS for animations, etc.). So, It says that Crash Fixes "fixes" the string problem but make the save files not able to get loaded at the SaveTool.exe (Save Script Cleaner). But i have Crash Fixes 12 since the BEGINNING, and like i said, i was able to use it on my save just fine. And now when i try to load my save on ReSaver.exe from Skyrim Tools i get this error (attached file). I had SexLab installed before but i uninstalled the right way and iirc i was even able to clean some orphan scripts from it using the SaveTool.exe So, should i even bother with not being able to use SaveTool anymore or what? I'm so fucking lost.
jfraser Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 My bet is that the key phrase in your post is "the program crashed when loading the specific save." Something got corrupted when it crashed. I have only one solution, and you won't like it.

People with 250 mods and ENB and ridiculously heavy mods don't have problems and i have, fucking hell. Thanks for helping me.

Thanks for helping me. sorry, shouldn't have left that a cliffhanger. I figured you would be able to guess. Say goodbye to that save and start a new game. Also, save cleansers only do so much. The only truly clean game is one that has not had mods added or subtracted after it has begun. And even if you never touch your load order after you start a game, mods add a variable of instability to Skyrim that can never be completely eradicated. I run a relatively modest 185 mods, I have all the stabilizers, I always start a new game if I even update a small mod, and I still have to coc to qasmoke before loading any save and get ctd's from time to time. Save often.

I have another save file (manual save) that is kinda old (some 3 or 4 quests to do and some items to get/craft) and this save file can be loaded on the SaveTool and on ReSaver just fine. But now i have more mods installed than befofe (like 5 or 6 iirc but mostly are weapons). Do i load this one and continue from there? Thanks again.

jfraser Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I think something that can't be reached by the tools available to anyone outside Bethseda got corrupted when the cleaner crashed. I'm not versed enough in coding to make any kind of educated guess at the actual cause. Bottom line, I don't think that save can be...well, saved. But others may know better. You can use the other old save, and it will probably be fine, but it won't be as stable as a new game. bashed patch is the issue or it could be the bashed patch.

My point is that the save seemed unfixable. But as I said, others may know better.
fekoll Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 bashed patch is the issue What do you mean? I need to remove it from my LO?

But as I said, others may know better. what make you think there's something to fix in his saves? it's better if he don't mess with it anyway deleting or keeping orphan scripts doesn't change anything, there's nothing that load those leftovers while deleting broken scripts can break stuff that was using them you check with savegamecleaner to avoid that when you try a mod (you just get rid of it instead of trying to repair the damages if the mod is a mess)

I used the Script cleaner because of orphan scripts, i've read what it does and when you should use, just like every single mod i have. It's not my fault if Skyrim is a fucking mess of a game that needs 5 programs to clean this and that a fuckton of patches from the community to fix bugs and crashes because Bethesda it's too fucking lazy to do a good job.

My understanding is that the issue is that his save will no longer load. So it's the save that we're trying to fix. Correct me if that's incorrect, Fekoll.

yatol Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Did you even bothered to read my post? didn't i told to the one above your problem wasn't fixing the save, but checking it with savegamecleaner? and i told you to download the last version of savegamecleaner, you did it? also said to not mess with your save if there's no reason to do it orphan scripts are leftovers from removed mods those removed mods are no longer there to load those scripts deleting them don't change anything in game, didn't you read that? i don't trust enought that thing to let it mess with my saves to save 10-50 ko
jfraser Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 My save doesn't load on SaveTool or ReSave, but it loads for me to play the game. then I DID misunderstand the issue, and apologies to both. If the save works in the game, why do you care if it doesn't load in the script cleaner?
Vrosh Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 I think He cares if it doesn't load in save game tool, because he can delete those bloated scripts from save file which tends to increase your save.ess size to over unheard amount of Mbs for a Skyrim save in active scripts section, I normally have those problems - don't know maybe its runtime player body changes or something else. It often gets solved after disabling xpmse in LO I would load it again if I need it though. So, IMO solution would be appreciated. BTW I noticed this post is from 2016 did you ever found the solution to your problem? if so please share.
GenioMaestro Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 The problem related is based in Crash Fixes, String Table Bug and ReSaver. Crash Fixes change the file format of the savefile ONLY when the String Table Bug happend. If the String Table Bug is NOT present not change any and the savegame can be procesed by the old SaveGameScripCleaner. If the String Table Bug IS PRESENT and you remove mods and clean your save with ReSaver you can get a new savegame that can be procesed by the old SaveGameScripCleaner. Sometimes the savegame go corrupt, the game can't read it, is un-usable and the tools fail when try read it. If this happend must forget it and use an older save. The strange point related 2 years ago is that the game read the save but the tools crash when try load it. This is not normal. Is your situation? Your problem about bloated savegame is caused by the hability for Re-Scale Weapons in XPMSE. Try un-install XPMSE and re-install it disabling the Weapon Scale functionality. Some players in nexus say that disable the Cloack speel in the MCM of xpmse solve the problem. This two options not work for me and sometimes my savegame up from 20mb to 40mb and have hundreds of XpmseWeaponScale in ActiveScripts, it can up to 500, 700, 800.. give me a lot of problems, slow play, frame drops, dumps in log... The only solution for me is MANUALY delete the scrip and clean the save. You can try. Of course, use this option as last resort, is not recomended manually touch the files, must be made with your manager. The scripts re-appear when re-install XPMSE. Have it present.
