maxjoe1234567890@yahoo.com Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 So I am currently creating a mod, that has under aged teenagers in it, I have created a new race for them however I do not want a user of my mod to do anything illegal with these characters. So I was wondering if there is a way that I can prevent them from running Sexlab on the characters or mark them as children (without making them use the children body with is ugly)?
SirNibbles Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Just tag the children option at the race properties in Creation Kit. Be aware though this also causes them to adopt all benefits/negatives from children like being unable to marry, always essential and some more stuff.

You can never prevent a mod user of your mod to modify it for personal use, but what you can do is state your intention for this mod into the permissions for your mod. Which means that no one will get support from you, but also a mod user can never release a mod with some content from your mod included in their mod. Should anyone do that and upload it on Nexus, or any other site, then I can gurantee you that a lot of members there will report such a mod as illegal and the uploader will be banned from the actual site. I expect the same thing will happen here too.

SexLab itself has many options to prevent child, or child-like races, to be excluded (height under .94 scaling, certain default 'child' mods, the child setting in the ck as mentioned by SirNibbles, etc). So sexlab is pretty much protected (someone will ALWAYS find a way around, but Ashal did a pretty good job on this). The actual problem is the mods that USE sexlab that don't do the same checks to prevent sexual dialog. If I remember correctly, there is an API for SexLab that other mods can use to check if the NPC is valid for SexLab. Some mods don't use that, relying solely on the 'child' checkbox. And as SirNibbles said, there are some issues using that setting because it applies other settings in the Skyrim game itself. What I'd suggest is looking at the script that validates the NPC in SexLAb and see if any of the filters apply to your child/teen race. If the filters apply, then sexlab itself is fine. And even if the various sexlab mods do not use the sexlab check to prevent dialog, SexLab itself should still prevent the action.
maxjoe1234567890@yahoo.com Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 Thanks everyone, I will go and do that. Tagging the NPC as children would probably fix the problem alone but I will also look for the API for SexLab. As well as state my intentions of my mod.
Delzaron Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 you can lock them by using the sexlabforbidden faction and keywords. Child tag also work.
WaxenFigure Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Best and simplest way is to add a keyword to your mod named "SexlabForbid" and then add that keyword to each NPC you create with this race. Add the keyword to your mod, you do not need to add Sexlab as a master that way and Sexlab will recognize and honor that keyword. I also suggest you make sure their underwear is part of their body so they cannot be made naked (In fact I believe that is a requirement if you want to publish that mod here). Understand too that no matter what you do to protect these NPCs, someone else can "undo" it. Do not let that bother you, as long as you have done your due diligence then you have done your part. Hmmm, as a late thought I am reminded that a lot of mods don't check for that keyword and will have dialog about sex for your NPCs. If you can use the "child" flag without it kneecapping your NPCs it's probably better if you can set it. You'll get fewer complaints that way from those who will mistake it as a failure on your part so you won't have to continually refer them to the author of the actual mod failing to check.
maxjoe1234567890@yahoo.com Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 thanks I will try that keyword "SexlabForbid". I was also thinking of adding a cloak that kill the player if the players is naked and within a certain distance of the under-aged NPC. Though some players use mods that require them to be naked, such as untamed and that Pet collar one.
