Fallout 4 Modding Scene Pace

So this is more like a question regarding Fallout 4 modding scene.

I bought FO4 day one and played for 71 hours according to steam.

Downloaded some mods but ended up uninstalling the game and never going back.

I know there is no modding scene like Skyrim now.

There is just so much stuff and every now and them a big mod is released.

Even if Skyrim modding is slowing down the scene is also very mature with stability and quality mods.

I'm having a big of a hard time remembering the early days of Skyrim modding.

Like is 5 years now ;)

Do you guys thing FO4 modding scene is following Skyrim pace?

Are expectations too high?

File count on Nexus

Skyrim 49,458 released November 11, 2011

Oblivion 28,027 released March 20, 2006

FNV 17,481 released October 19, 2010

F03 14,257 released October 28, 2008

Morrowind 4,124 released May 1, 2002

FO4 14,656 released November 10, 2015

It's been out for less then a year and already has a 1/4 of the files that Skyrim has and that's 5 years old and is close to exceeding FNV........furthermore the CK has not been out all that long. So yeah it's going solid. FWIW I've got 5,000 hours logged in in Fo4 apperantly.

Lower your expectations.

So are Skyrims when you think about it. UNP, UNPB and CBBE versions of outfits..........then the retextures and translations. :D

I think it's going at a decent pace. I know that many people working on large mods were waiting on the final DLC and patches to drop before they really dug in.

Give it about another 6 months and the heavy hitters will be showcasing more their work. Without having proper animation tools and the like, some mods are taking much longer to churn out than in the past with games like skyrim and FNV. It took me and a few others almost since day one just to get an armor set put together and even now its not quite ready

You probably mean 500 hours, huh? Fallout 4 got released on November 10, 2015. 5.000 log-in hours in game with 8 hours sleep each day inevitably lead to some 313 days in all. No one can stand that. What's more, since release just 323 days have past...

71 hours lol, I can almost do that in one sitting. :P

Give it time to mature a little, a lot of the creators will be loathed to leave Skyrim just now as it has more functionality for creating mods at the moment.

Some will never leave Skyrim either as Fallout may not be to their taste.

Also remember Skyrim had its CK released way earlier. While in FO4 the CK came out, what six months after release? And a lot of people were waiting for that to come out.

So right about that, and let's not forget that a lot of old mods released pre-CK have been updated,  re-named or fallen out of use.  With any kind of luck, we should start seeing more and better quest mods and extensive new areas off the map to explore. As I've said on the Nexus forums, Beth kinda blew it with the geography along two sides of the map. IRL, there are no high mountain ranges as depicted in the game. The Whites up in New Hampshire are a 2 hr drive away give or take. Untill you get there, it is all rolling hills like you see at the start of the game.
