Few questions about the Nuka World DLC

Hey guys !

I tried to search for some info on reddit, steam forums and google but I only get the usual and same youtube videos and overall the same explanation but nothing about what I'm curious about. Hope you guys can help me get some answers :)

- Can companions and T4 vendors such as Anne, Anderson etc live in a raider outpost ? What about named settlers like Tina or Sheffield ? (I guess they cannot live there but I haven't found a mod about letting settlers live with raiders so I don't know if it's already possible).

- Do Institute patrols attack your raider outposts ? What would happen if you use a BoS vertibird to get in a raider outpost, does it get attacked ?

I'll try this, I gonna raid Sanctuary and try Sheffield

Thanks man ! I haven't played the DLC yet, but I just wanted to know since I like some named settlers.

Simple answer - probably not, at least not w/o modification of individual relationship and affinity. Either the settler faction as a whole leaves the threatened settlement or dies on site in the pending raid. Enslavement of survivors is not on Bethesda's agenda, a mod might change that though. Once the takeover by raiders took place the raider outpost is no longer part of the settlement list, the supply network and the Minutemen protection which makes it impossible to send chosen settlers over there (or to attract new ones). I haven't yet talked to Shank in Nuka Town USA to cleanse all but one tributary supply settlement of settlers and provisioners in Far Harbor first.

When I played the DLC the first place I took over was the lighthouse. My Settlers were still hanging around and doing useless shit while my Operators kicked back and relaxed. So I guess it depends on how you deal with settlements. I think if you already own the settlement and have your gang set up there the two can co exist. I never got Tina out of Vault 81 so I have no idea but cant raid settlements with companions in them. I had to send everyone to Vault 88 to take most settlements.

Also Preston loves you raiding settlements bring him alone too.

Bethesda probably went Lazy mode and just put the Raiders as the same faction as everything else that is friendly instead of giving them their own unique faction, they tend to attack other raiders but they are missions where they attack Railroad, but my guesses they just put gunners there and made them look like rail road. So most likely 99% sure not.

Hmm my Operators kill everything so not sure. Also first settlement I raided turned out 6 of my setters were syths

Thanks! But you can perusade sttlers to supply your outpost

Aye but sadly the vassal settlements can't be edited by the player, and you cannot give the settlers orders anymore.

Guess we need an alternative raider strategy to come to grips with the evilness inside. Thus I'll try to contain myself to the three plus one settlements on Far Harbor after having undocked them from the mainland supply line and having transferred the relatively few settlers on the Island back to the Commonwealth. Hence I'd raid empty ready-to-rock-and-roll settlements. How stupid is that, huh? Well, I'm the Sole Survivor, a moron, what else?

Yeah its stupid. In the main game your forced to be the good hu and with Nuka world your forced to be the bad guy. It really felt strange.

I kinda hoped nuka world would be an alternate start, so that you when you come out of the vault, as soon as the sun glare hits you and you raise your arm, screen goes black and the next bit is waking up with a slave collar on and being told you are going to have to fight in various arena battles to prove your worth being anything but a slave.

The pack, or disiples work for this, not so much the operators, but it could be done.

After doing various battles with assorted animals and such, you get the option to leave the arena area, and get more missions from any of the various factions, but you are not at present one of them, eventually you get enough rep to join one of the factions, at which point you end up pissing the overboss off over something or other, and end up having to fight him, that battle is the same as the current one in nuka world, afterward you then start with the raiding and taking over the commonwealth settlements.

After all most people who hit level 30 have done at least a bit of settlement building, and would prefer not to have to doing nasty things to those settlements, though like many I think the settlement attack system needs a serious overhaul, if you have 300-400 defence and 10-20 settlers with decent gear, combat armour and such, assault rifles or combat rifles and the like, they should not be constantly calling for your aid, early in game sure, but later on no.

Hmm that sounds way better then what Bethesda did. I thought something similar and then you would wipe out the other two gangs kinda like Saints Row. But it was a little disappointing in that area oh and the raider faction missions sucked. Go and kill this person, go and enslave a Super Mutant it was kinda crazy. Now wiping out Gunners and other raiders sure but really.

Also a few of my settlement have around 100 defense and all setters are in power armor with mini guns and lazer guns. Still need me to go and kill some level 10 raiders though or save them from Level 18 Super mutants  :(

Like when that settlement gets attacked as soon as they spawn.... Dead like why did they even need me

Thats why I made army's of robots. They never complaint about there backs hurting. They never need help and they dont care if dont upgrade them good.

What the hell are the other flag poles for? I understand what the raider gang flag poles are for but the other factions? Can I take external parts of nuka world for the MM or BoS or something? Will they show up after planting a flag pole there and start patrolling there?

It's irritating I can't send someone basically evil like Cait or Strong to live at the raider settlements. I tried adding them to some of the raider factions no luck yet. If anybody knows what I have to do to make them get Gage's dismissal list please do.

It's much more preferrable to find a console command solution rather than editing individual NPCs in the CK cuz I was kinda hoping to use the 20 followers mod on nexus as a back door slave solution. (when I try to move one of the custom followers from that mod I still only get the OG settlement list in my case just sanctuary and RR)

Damn, I was waiting for some mod to allow us to us settlers and companions and if it took too long I'd give it a shot but it seems more complicated than I thought.

So you tried adding them to the raider faction and it didn't worked ? You sure it was the DLC raider faction ? I also find it annoying that they don't even let you have settlers as slaves... since even in Nuka World they're there but Bethesda was like... "nope". :(

I added them as disciples , and operators, and a second operators faction who's function is unclear. none did anything.

Gage can be assigned to raider camps only but dogmeat can be assigned anywhere so I am sure someone who has the stomach to deal with the FO4 CK will eventually figure it out. by taking a hard peep at one of them. I don't have much patience for it right now.

I haven't tried it yet but someone on a board suggested that if you assign a follower to a task then assign someone else to it the follower will stick around at the Raider camp. Might be a good workaround.

Uh, I think those came with one of the previous DLCs or updates. Only the ones in the Raider section do anything.

Yeah I finished nuka world already and found the normal flags for the raider groups. I was thinking before I got to nuka world that the flagpoles could be built in one of the parks to claim that park for whichever flag was made there but actually you have to find a flag pole at the top of some main building usually and run a flag up there for one of the raider gangs. Would be nice if there was a chance to run a minutemen or BoS flag up the poles instead and they patrol around that park afterwards.
