FusRoDah Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 The internet seems to be divided between "works great" and "doesn't work at all."to start of I had to add "-SteamAppId 22380" to the game launch patch for it to start without an error, and then it started but with a black screen, pink box as a mouse and a bunch of "missing files" messages for other mods such as sexout plugins (even though I got all the files). It seems it isn't able to read custom files properly or something like that. So I thought, fine, let's try vanilla, but even when I launch it through the steam launcher with NO mods, it crashes after the intro movie when I press new game. I can't help to blame windows 10 for crashing New Vegas, since I couldn't get fallout 3 to work either.Does anyone know how to make it work with windows 10? The specific issue beforehand makes me think there's some issue with reading?
FusRoDah Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Maybe I should've stated it more clearly, New Vegas. Â
jaam Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 It works perfectly for me and my AMD card, so no Windows 10 (up to date) itself is not an issue. Â
FusRoDah Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Yeah it said the latest nVidia driver might be the issue in another thread but I don't think that's it since I had this issue before I updated to the latest driver, then I updated and it persisted.Â
dborg2 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Both the current nVidia and the previous nVidia driver have issues with fallout New Vegas. You'll have to revert back to version 368.81, if you want to play fallout 3/new vegas/Oblivion(?). Somewhere on their Geforce-forum (but I forgot to bookmark it) nVidia acknowledged the issue and said they have it fixed by next release.
FusRoDah Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Can confirm rolling back fixes it! Im on 365.10 now and was able to start the game.
