Now that sims 4 is getting animations

Up to now there are plenty of Woohoo animations fortunately - is there a way for me to somehow organize them ingame like to rename them or favourite single ones?

I don't think we can say anything now, tbh. As much as my love is going from TS3 to TS4 (Gods, it's smooth!!!!!), you all know what a major update could possibly do to mods in general. That's one point to TS3, it's finished, that means no more harm to mods.

TS4 content is still lacking a lot at the moment. Personally, I really miss being a witch and an university student.

I prefer TS3. I haven't personally played TS4 yet, but i've watched some videos on it, and the fact that they removed the Open World and things like that make me not wanna play it. I might give it a try in the Future, once all DLCs are released, but until then i'll stay with TS3 and KW. :D

I wish I could say that :(. I tried every lag fix possible, even getting a new laptop, but the lag and stutter was killing me. I love TS3 and KW very much, but I would rather wait 3-5 seconds loading time between lots than suffering through that. As long as story progression works on non-active lots too, that's fine by me.

But yes, the lack of open world means that I could no longer spy on other people having sex everytime a notification pops up :P.

Will it finally surpass sims 3? <_<

Well, I don't know if it'll necessarily surpass Sims 3 right now, but I am optimistic in the direction that WickedWoohoo is going. For instance, TURBODRIVER seems pretty active in developing the framework, and we got some of the key "players" like Amra72 and Mike24 making animations for it. I wouldn't be surprised if within the next six months more people here at LoversLab will be focused on the Sims 4.  :)

Well, from what I've understood after doing a little bit of research, Sims 3 wasn't optimized very well. :(

I actually had performance issues as well but I was able to alleviate by completely uninstalling Sims 3 and its expansions and then reinstalling them one at a time. I also had to remove some mods that I didn't know were conflicting, and I also had to add some new mods to resolve routing issues. As far as expansions are concerned, I had a ton of them before but now I only have Pets, Seasons, and recently I added Ambitions back into the mix I have Pets, Seasons, Ambitions, as well as Late Night, University Life, and Into the Future because they were recommended for KinkyWorld. (So was World Adventures but I don't plan on installing it mainly because I'm not interested in the expansion plus I heard it's really buggy.) But in either case, with all the mods and expansions installed so far Sims 3 has been pretty stable with just a few hiccups here and there but nothing major like the freezing that I used to experience before.  :) (Then again, I'm not playing it on a laptop and my game is installed on a SSD drive.)

Well, my laptop also has an SSD and it could run most recent games at max setting, so it isn't a hardware problem as far as I can tell.

I guess there;s also that method. But... It's frustrating, isn't it? We paid for a content, only to be unable to use it because of the poor optimization... Also, I rather liked some features in those expansions, such as Supernatural, or the Chemistry skill in Generation.

Also, we shouldn't have to do that in the first place... Having to add tons of third-party mods to be able to play (somewhat) is already enough. Now we have to get rid of official contents too? :(

Yep, I totally agree. Unfortunately there's really not much we can do at this point except just try to be mindful about what mods and expansions we're installing and testing to see what conflicts and what doesn't. It's frustrating, because like you said if we paid for it everything should work right out of the box (or at the very least, the developers should continue to support it by releasing patches and fixes), but what's done is done.  :(

Yeah I find it ironic that we have to rely on NRAAS to make the game playable but in retrospect it's like the same thing with Arthmoor's Unofficial Skyrim Patches lol. It's like these huge gaming companies don't seem to have enough people, time, and money to actually fix their games. It's kind of odd seeing as how they make millions compared to the lonely guy who's fixing their games out of his/her own free time lol.

For me personally this is a non-question since Sims 4 requires Origin which is something that will never get installed on my system.

Regardless, there will in the end always be things that will be better in one game and things that will be better in the other.

Look at Oblivion and Skyrim where this holds true for the games, the regular mods and the adult mods.

Sims 4 does not require Origin. At least it doesn't if you sail the virtual seven seas for ye booty. That said, I think you can install the legal version without Origin as well. Not 100% sure on that, but I do know you can play it with Origin turned off.

Nope, I don't pirate. Yes, Sims 4 requires Origin and it being playable in offline mode is irrelevant because like I said I won't install Origin on my system.

What's wrong with Origin?

Apparently it latches itself into your system and you can't uninstall it completely, not without rolling back your system anyway (I'm not sure if editting the reg files works, but I remember some people saying not. But even so, it's awfully lots of work for uninstalling).

Because of that behavior, Origin is getting a bad reputation. But too bad, EA had stopped selling their games on Steam, so there's no alternative.

I decided to risk it anyway though. Not only for The Sims, but Mass Effect: Andromeda is coming as well. Can't miss that for anything, and not like I have anything really personal in this laptop anyway.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I did a quick search on another computer of mine that had it installed (before I switched over to my current one), and I don't think there are any traces of it left. I regularly run CCleaner especially after I uninstall a program so it's possible that I got rid of Origin in its entirety without me knowing lol.

Personally, I hope the Sims 4 will eventually surpass the Sims 3. I love the Sims 3 but it's SUUUPER laggy for me, and the graphics leave much to be desired nowadays. However I've only seen a few sex animations and poses appear recently so it will probably still be some time before I actually get serious about leaving the Sims 3.

Feisty. Well if you really want to play Sims 4 but you're against "pirating" and you don't want origin on your system either then you're basically left with one choice. Buy the game to support the developers/publisher, then download the "unofficial" version that doesn't use origin. As far as I'm concerned that's not pirating, but if that's still too risqué for you then just don't play sims 4+ (should a sequel ever happen) because origin is likely here to stay.

Feisty? Sorry but I think you're really taking this the wrong way. :P

Also I never said I wanted to play Sims 4. Not sure where you got that impression. I mean I appreciate that you apparently tried to help me, but I never asked for any help or complained.

I simply made a comment on how I won't be playing the game because of Origin, but I am also perfectly content with the Sims 3 and feel no need to play its sequel.

Plus, with the game, the expansions, some stuff packs, store content like the boardwalk, dance studio, bakery and all.that and some mods I have more than enough content for a long time. I am also perfectly aware that as things are now Origin is here to stay which is fine by me.

Hope I got any confusion out of the way. :)

Nothing wrong with being feisty! That's cool and all, I'm not sure why you're complaining about an aspect of Sims 4 if you don't want to play it but I just made a comment on how you could, based on your statements, play if you wanted. If you're happy with Sims 3, play on.

And I'm not sure why you got the impression I complained about anything regarding Sims 4. All I did was mention that I personally won't install Origin on my system. Nothing more than a simple statement You apparently somehow interpreted that as "Damn EA for using Origin" or something of that manner. I didn't complain i any way though. I don't mind Sims 4 requiring Origin and I don't mind EA using Origin.

Maybe this time we've cleared everything up. :)

I don't really see why you're making this so complicated, however, by saying "I personally won't install Origin on my system" you are in effect making a direct complaint against Origin, and by proxy, The Sims 4. A complaint, by definition, is "a statement that a situation is unsatisfactory or unacceptable." You basically just said, as I quoted, that having Origin on your system would be an unacceptable or unsatisfactory situation, therefore you made a complaint against Origin. Origin is personally unacceptable for you, that is your complaint. I never said why you made your complaint or that you minded EA or anybody else using Origin, I only said you made a complaint against Origin and that it was likely here to stay.

Now do you see why I called you fiesty? Which is still just fine! :P

I have also been moving my arse from Sims 3 to Sims 4 lately. Sims 3 just has too severe performance issues, probably due to the 32-bit architecture putting annoying limit to memory usage.

Sims 4 is far from perfect but at the moment it seems to be getting better and better at fairly decent pace. It also has greater potential due to a much more modern engine but... there are still things that need fixing.

The only one who's making this complicated is you. All I did was make a simple comment on a thread. I didn't even originally state why I wouldn't install it. It's silly that that comment even turned into a discussion. I certainly never intended that. Which evidently failed because you just keep on trying to stir something up. At least it starts to seem like you keep misinterpreting my statement on purpose. And no I did not complain, no matter how much you try to twist what I said by being pedantic about the specific base meaning of a word.

I also think it is silly how our little exchange still keeps going on, I never meant to derail this topic in any way. Apologies to the topic creator and everyone else who read through this.

So I for my part am done with this. That way I also avoid "making this complicated." You can believe whatever you want.

And all I did was make a simple response to your comment, to which you felt the need to rebuttal. Which is fine as this is a forum, a place for discussion. I'm not trying to stir anything up either. I mean seriously, all I did was give you a suggestion on how to play Sims 4 should you want to play it. No you didn't say you wanted to play or ask for it, but it was also just a harmless suggestion meant in goodwill that you could've acknowledged/ignored and went on about your business. That and called you feisty, which you apparently took some kind of way. You did complain about Origin though, at least in my opinion, which is not going to change as your is also not liable to change nor am I or have I tried to change it. You also went on to proclaim why you're content with Sims 3, which could be seen as an indirect complaint against Sims 4 and its lack of quality content from your perspective. But as you said, you can believe whatever you want. A.K.A we'll have to agree to disagree.

As for the topic being derailed, not really, as the core of what our exchange has been about is still Sims 3 and 4. To which I can say with relative certainty that you do not think Sims 4 modding will pass Sims 3 modding with the addition of animations in Sims 4 since you don't, and foreseeably won't, own Sims 4. However I could be wrong as I'm not you and don't know what you think. You're also obviously more than welcome to not respond to this. Despite the fact I think you've been feisty, this has been a rather cordial exchange.

Adding my own thoughts on the matter, I do enjoy how much more visually appealing Sims 4 is over Sims 3, but at the current time that's about where it ends. There's still quite a lot that Sims 3 has over 4 and in spite of the older-generation graphics and sluggish performance it still ends up being the better game.

I suppose that perhaps my foremost gripe with Sims 4 is the lack of plumbots. Plumbots are my all-time favorite feature of Sims 3, and I got endless enjoyment out of going to the future, having my character learn how to create them, and then either stay in the future and tinker or return to the past and tinker. Either way, it was a blast. Their lack of presence - or of any similar robot/android/gynoid/etc - in Sims 4 is just a gaping empty hole where content and happiness would be. sad.png

It was also a really good time to pull some Terminator-style shenanigans in Sims 3. I'd play an old evil mad scientist who goes to the future, creates a killer robot, the robot kills him (using that explosive sniper rifle in the weapons mod) and leaves his corpse/tombstone in the future and then travels to the past to change the future causing the scientist's ghost to cease to exist and so on. Sims 4 just has yet to compete with that kind of storytelling freedom and fun. sad.png

In spite of that, though, I remain cautiously optimistic that Sims 4 could become a good/comparable game. The animations are a nice step forward. Although I worry that by the time Sims 4 finally hits its stride...friggin Sims 5 will come out or something, because heaven forbid EA just stick to ONE sims game and make that one awesome. angry.png

Sims 3 has the same problems Skyrim has - the Engine is crap! Sims 3 is literally unplayable for me. Ridiculous long loading times, crashes, bugs and saving won't work reliably. Its just a huge pain.
