AgentCarolina Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Right, nevermind my clever topic titles. Every time i go to edit something in the GECK, it crashes. I've looked for countless fixes but none seem to have done anything to help,Anyone have any idea?NOTE: Yes, my steam is in program files (86) but I only have one hard drive, so I can't put it anywhere else unless i place it in normal program files. EDIT: DIDNT SEE THAT THERE IS A GECK HELPPOST SO I WILL GO READ THAT FIRSTALSO NOT SURE HOW TO DELTE TOPICS
Guest Suited Prawns Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Have you tried validating your files for the game and geck What are you editing? Has this just started happening? Did it work before? If yes what did you change? This isn't an answer more a reply to what you noted, you can create more folders in your C: hard drive outside of Program files which is what youre kinda supposed to do. Or you can create a separate partition on you Hard drive . EDIT: Spelling

Odessa Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I believe the GECK has some issues with windows 8, 8.1 and 10. You can get it to work, but you need to do something I can't recall (I'm still on 7). If you google fallout GECK windows 10, you should be able to find out what. In general: Always be patient with the GECK, it does not like being interrupted while its loading something.
Guest Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Not sure if it's strictly related to your issue, but I wouldn't forget that: - Large address helps a lot the GECK stability, I wouldn't be able to work on world editing without it. LAA url (CFF Explorer) : http://www.ntcore.com/ - Some specific behaviours inside GECK will always CTD. Like editing NPCs' faces moving the facegen sliders.
panthercom Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Also look for the GECK Power Up modifications. I can edit NPC's faces using sliders with no crashes, BTW, but my voodoo rituals may be different from yours

I'm referring to the advanced sliders, you know when you move the nose and it automatically moves the eyes etc.etc. It's not like an issue of mine, it's a common issue I've read many times. The solution AFAIK is flagging the Clamp Value option, it let me think that it CTDs when it recalculates other face's parts

That sounds interesting... The only problems I have are with the damned eyeballs becoming deformed, although it looks like Bethesda/Obsidian had the same problem and simply ignored it.
