A rant.

I'm currently at a loss for what to do so I'll just post this here.  This is the right place for a discussion, right?

 

Modding Skyrim is so easy and it runs smooth as hell on my computer.  There are so many mods out there now that the visuals can be tailored to fit your preferences pretty damn well.  Even better, there are plenty of sex mods to fit most of my particular interests ... BUT, the gameplay and scenarios are very rigid (at least in terms of sex mods).

 

Its Skyrim, it is always just Skyrim to me.  No matter how beautiful I make it or how much lewd content I squeeze into it, it still plays like Skyrim.  Even mods that try to apply story to the sex are really just adding on a couple quests here and there (at least the ones I've seen).  Most of the sex mods just boil down to running up to someone (or something) and just randomly having sex with them.  Even when mods try to add some relationship requirements it just doesn't really work out IMO.

 

So, an alternative?  The Sims 3!  I went down that road and it does cover the other side of what I'm looking for well enough.  Acting out stories and scenarios, building relationships, it gives context for the sex I guess is what I'm saying.  Unfortunately, I think the Sims 3 is a hassle to mod, its performance is pretty terrible, some of the modded stuff just looks bad (polygonal boobs for example), and there isn't a whole lot of lewd content (at least not the kind I'm looking for).

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to trash talk anybodies work here!  These mods are great and the people who make them are skilled in ways I don't imagine I'll ever be.  I've had hours upon hours of great times with modded Skyrim and Sims 3.  It's just that I'm looking for something I can't seem to find and I'm not sure how to define it.

 

I've even tried games from Illusion (like Artificial Academy 2) and while they are a step in the right direction they're just a bit too "vanilla" for my tastes.

 

I'm not entirely sure what I'm trying to say here and I'm sorry for the wall of text.  I guess my Holy Grail would be some kind of overhaul of Skyrim's story and character interactions to lend themselves better to the sexual contents of mods (I wouldn't even mind reading their dialogue so voice acting wouldn't be an issue).  Or a huge breakthrough in Sims 4 modding maybe, I don't know.

Eeeh ... Sounds like it adds some of the functionality I'm talking about, which is awesome.  It's still just the same old stuff though.  Honestly, I just don't find the default Skyrim NPCs interesting.  They're kind of just ... there.

If you don't like the NPC, you can change it's appearance with several mods on the nexus. Some are really good, like the Serana replacers. I found only one that made Camilla more attractive.

Have you tried All in one animated pussy?  It has a ton of options and is really easy to install.  I can't say it is going to completely transform Skyrim into something else but I think it is a very fun and extremely varied in appearances.  The download page alone has a ton of different types of custom NPCs people have made as followers and default replacers for NPCs in-game as well.

No, their looks arn't a problem.  It's the personalities and stories, Skyrim NPCs have always seemed rather lifeless to me.  They take up space, give out quests, that's about it.  Amorous Adventures apparently gives them more story and personality, which helps a lot, but the mod's description itself says it's basically just "Save the day, bang the dame."

Bethesda has this reputation for a long time with their NPCs. Their AIs and their behaviors are just wank. Their important characters suffer from any kind of backstory. Take Lydia for example; she's an iconic character in Skyrim, yet she suffers from any kind of backstory and deep engagement with the player. You never really get to engage in deep emotions with them because they end up having the same AI as every other female NPC. There isn't any further connection with them and the player. Even when that female NPC becomes your spouse. The whole ceremony is bland.'

 

There are times when I am ok with this because I can develop t heir own backstory. But for the most part I don't like it. And it's why mods tend to suffer around this because deep emotions in their games with characters simply don't exist.

Yes, exactly this.  I've been forgiving of Bethesda in the past for this but Skyrim seems especially guilty of it.  It might just be because Skyrim is the first Elder Scrolls I've played on PC and had the chance to mod.  Whatever the case, I just can't care.  I want to.  Hell, all the crazy mods on Loverslab alone are reason enough to try to really dig into the game and get the most out of it.  There is just nothing there though, no depth to be found.

I didn't know a lot about most of these mods till I stumbled on that download.  I'm very new to the whole Skyrim sex scene (haha) so that opened my eyes to all kinds of new mods and such although just having the framework lags my game quite a bit.  Quick save has now turned into 'wait a couple of minutes - save' lol.

Dude ... there's none of "3D" Games that offer superb solid story S-Games (Sex-Games). Best in graphic, trash in story.

In reverse, there's are many of "Text Mud" games that offer superb story, but had no animation. You just have to be good at imagination.

In between, RPGMaker/Renpy/etc games that use 3D/2D pictures. Some of it had good/appealing story.

 

This is like a Utopia of Pervert Gamers. To find a 3D Next-Gen games that offer full frontal nudity, but also good story, plus awesome gameplay, AND FINISHED (not WIP).

The close reference I can say is The Witcher 3. It was design to be mature games, both story and appearance.

 

This Pervert/Adultery passion already being made on TV Shows, namely True Blood and Game of Thrones.

But, there will be at times, when some big company with talented story writer, game design and passionate perverts developer, making it for us.

Well, try it first.  Then if you want to knock it, that would be valid Mod feedback.

 

Otherwise, yes, the goal is to take dull, lifeless NPC's and give them a breath of life.  Talk to Jenassa, try her Amorous quest and compare to Jenassa in Vanilla Skyrim.

I'm not knocking the mod at all, just because I pointed out that it isn't what I'm looking for doesn't mean I'm bashing it.  If anything, I was bashing Skyrim itself because mods like Amorous Adventures are often held back by the game.

 

Also, I am going to use Amorous Adventure once I get all my other mods sorted out.

It's not that I can ask CD Projekt Red to create and direct my porns, so... I am so greateful for all the modders out there, they have created something that I'll never would have thought to be possible. Sometimes I feel that it's a little dull, ofc. But, well... It's what most viable possible that we can have. 

Bethesda game's are the most modable games I know, everything else just come up with nude models.

Artificial Academy games are nice, but at some point I just get bored cause it's all a big pretend, characters don't really talk about nothing and it's all big statistics going on, so at some point it turns out extremely robotic. Skyrim at least has the vanilla and moded quests to go to when sex content gets dull, so you can role play the life of a warrior, rogue, mage, whatever, that has a social life.

 

The thing I always hoped for, tho, that never came true, is a framework where you can start to court women or men for their affection. The dialogues would be random generated and at some point they would trigger mini games or sidequests, like getting x flowers for a bouquet, or escorting missions from point A to point B, getting an item done for a gift, etc. and all those would be generating levels of affections and opening more possibilities. I remember there was a guy that once had this idea, it's not mine, but it would be complex and no one bought it. Instead Amorous Adventure came, and it's super nice, but if you play it once, it'll never ever change. The point is, the dungeon crawlers games has a nice replayability cause it's all randomly generated, so you can get the feel that everytime it'll be different. Skyrim Adult Mods could hugely benefit from inspirating upon this perks of Dungeon Crawlers.
