Zor2k13 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I know this is kind of old topic now but still I can't find anything to do with it has anyone come up with new ideas for it? I was thinking the main computer room with those typing robobrains could have a terminal that controls groups of robot assault teams and you select a location on the map to send one assault team there to wipe out whatever is there or be able to choose what faction to target. The player comes back later and it is either success or fail maybe some percent chance thing or whatever. You could even go watch the team in action and assist them or not. This location just seems completely useless to me, I don't want to make a player home in a place where brains in jars and random ghouls are everywhere with creepy music playing all the time. Why even make this place a settlement? Should have just made it so that if certain dialogue checks were not met, ada would blow the mechanist away and be done with it. Then some kind of self destruct timer would initiate and everyone would have to escape. If the mechanist is allowed to live they could be sent to a settlement, maybe her and manta man could get a room and stop spawning with normal clothes on at random locations that I want to carpet bomb lol.
DigitalP Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Well that would certainly get Preston Garvey out of your hair, he tells you what settlement needs clean up and you send out a robotic assault team. a couple of assaultrons and a heavily gunned AHAB or 10. and Jezebel can monitor the action and give you a somewhat sarcastic report when it's done.....ok a heavily sarcastic report with innuendos about what kind of parentage you must of had That would at least give you a good reason to build more Robots. now if you could get them to loot what they kill Ergh why not just play Command and Conquer?
Brvtality Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I store everything important there. Built it up to look like a high security military depot. Lots of gun racks and lockers. Tables with ammo strewn all over it. Two rows of power armor. A few bunks for crashing all my companions if I decide to stay overnight or send them all to one place. With Contraptions DLC supposed to be getting some clothing dummies so I'll probably set up some armor displays. Seems like a really secure area so I figure that would be the immersive way of doing it.
Halstrom Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Can that production line actually be fixed somehow, I just completed the quest and also found it pretty useless place
Zor2k13 Posted June 19, 2016 Author Posted June 19, 2016 @halstron Yeah that feeling exactly I have no idea what to do with it and it feels awkward at the end like ada should have blown the mechanist head off but her dialogue and personality are so PC it was like taking a flight attendant along for the quest instead of an assaultron. This time the building area for jezebel was starlight drivein for me and I didn't make the mistake of giving her sentry bot parts. I kept thinking of that show "Get Smart" every time one of those doors had to open lol where is agent 99? What would make a lot of sense is the doors could be closed that lead off to the rest of the facility forcing the player to use the elevator to get back to the exit manually and making the fast travel feel less creepy. Also change the creepy music out after the quest is over and make some bright lights turn on so we don't have to fumble around in the dark anymore. I could not imagine how long it would take to scrap and then reconfigure all those walk ways in there why did they make that possible but we can't scrap useless stuff at costal cottage like blown up house debris and shit? So from what you guys saying the best use of this area is just storage and pretend you are comic book character blah blah I hate comic books they are boring although I did play through this quest this time with silver shroud costume just to hear different dialogues.
Mercenary666 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I used mine as a place to send the very annoying and useless Jezebel. I used to have her in Sanctuary but all she did was motor around opening all the doors so by sending her to the Lair, she's outta sight, outta mind. For good measure, I stashed Ada there to keep the Jez company.
Eth4rlad Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Garbage place from a garbage DLC of a garbage Game to use as a dumping ground for garbage Settlers and Followers.

xenic Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Can that production line actually be fixed somehow, I just completed the quest and also found it pretty useless place Doesn't the Contraptions DLC launch tonight? That has conveyor belts in it.
AsariX Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I figure people are waiting for SexTec and some BDSM/Dungeon mods so they can turn it into an industrial styled dungeon. It's a bit inconeniently located for most other purposes, the default navmeshing is terrible, meaning every time you build one of the bigger robots, you have to fast travel away yourself for it to succesfully leave the place on an errant, and the workbench should cover the entire interior (though I've seen a mod somewhere to fix just that).
