Compare your skyrim folder size.

For some of the people listing larger folder sizes and/or mod lists I think one additional stat might be interesting.  How often do you crash...

I pared back my mod list quite a bit because I don't like crashes.  I crash on average less than once a day now if I play all day long (more than 8 hours).  Anything more than a few times a day I would consider unplayable because it would drive me nuts.  When I test out a new mod if it makes me crash more than once a day I uninstall it.

I have a (12.8 GB skyrim data folder, 17 GB virtual data folder both on a small fast SSD), and 12.5 GB MO mod folder on a big slow HD.  The data folder grows significantly if I'm testing things out on multiple profiles, only using 1 at the moment.  142 plugins.

a bigger skyrim folder mean a better skyrim?

"12.5 GB MO mod folder on a big slow HD"

why do you use it if you know it's a problem?

if your hdd is 100mo/sec, and you have to load 400 mo from grass folder, it's 4 seconds

from compressed bsa, those 400 mo become 100 mo, but cpu have to decompress it, maybe 0.5 seconds

4 seconds < 1.5 second

I guess I should have been more specific.  That's my download directory for MO.  So performance doesn't matter except during installation.  All of the game + virtual data folders are on SSD.
