Mailamea Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Hi guys, so I've recently opt to beta2 since I wanted to release a mod made from CK to Bethesda.net. However I can't play fallout 4 when its opted to beta2 branch. Why? The game take long to load / In main menu then settings tab the "AUDIO" tab is loading like its buffering / When starting a new game and loading a game fallout 4 eats away over 4000000000 in processes tab, changing the priority in task manager to above normal and high will make my whole desktop lag. My theory is this is like witcher 3's 1.7 update which makes the game more optimized for Multi cores but makes the game worse for dual core. System : 8gb Gskills 1866 G3258 clocked at 4,2 GTX 750ti 1tb HDD Sata I'm running the game at 60-75 fps(capped through nvdia inspector) and 30-45 in cities with this setup in beta1 branch. But whenever I'm on beta2 I can't even play the game. Any ideas? Appreciate the help I can get, couldn't release stuff and play the game Also even running at Vanilla fallout 4 beta2 still has same problem. Sorry English isn't my main language.
Akzyra Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 If you are searching for troubleshooting beta2, go over to beth's forum. But as far as I know, beta2 is not much different from beta1. But technical details are unable to be answered here because no one know them.

It could be possible that some has run into this bug and has a fix for it. Hi guys, so I've recently opt to beta2 since I wanted to release a mod made from CK to Bethesda.net. Getting late at night and getting tired so will most likely end up stating the obvious or suggesting stuff you have most likely already tried XD. The only things I can think of at the current time which are causing it: - A compatibility issue between the game and the graphics driver. - There is a broken bit of code in the patch causing a massive memory leak. - The update is not optimized yet. - There is a bug within the Creation Kit files that when installed caused a modification to the game causing it to crash. What you can do to fix it: - Make sure latest driver is installed, if it is try a beta or experimental driver. But make sure you can downgrade. - Remove the CK. - Try a new save and see if it still happens. - Backup and recreate the Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Custom.ini and Fallout4Pref.ini files. One of these could be broken. Let me know how it goes. Don't have the updated files so I can't go and test this myself currently. Sorry English isn't my main language. Looking fine to me
Shadowsnake Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I'll throw some ideas here, hopefully something might help. Starting with the audio menu and the excessive resource usage, you might need to verify your games cache in steam, as it sounds like something might have gone wrong with your update. Backup your Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Custom.ini, and your Fallout4Prefs.ini files before verifying though as they will be deleted and returned to vanilla settings. From there, try the game with the vanilla ini files (and no mods loaded) and see if the issues are still there. Loading times...might have taken a hit with this beta. I run fallout 4 off an SSD and I do feel like the loading times have become longer then previously. Something that MAY help all around is a quick ini tweak in your fallout4Prefs.ini. Look for iNumHWThreads under the [General] section and set it to 2 (based on your CPU). That might improve some loading times and general in-game performance. Maybe something there might help? I'll add more ideas if I think of them.
