Sexlab Submit problem

Hi.

So I use both, defeat and submit in my skyrim, they both work fine, except for making enemy NPC's submit via Sexlab submit.

When i press the submit hotkey on the enemy npc, i do this finishing move animation and the npc falls on the ground, on one knee, i take away his weapon, however, no dialogue ever starts.

After a couple of secs, the npc stands up and nothing happens, he just walks around as if he became friendly, resulting in "Huh?" type responses.

Now, since I also use sexlab defeat, it works perfectly fine, I use defeat for the PC surrender options, all the dialogue and animations work fine in defeat. Also In Sexlab Submit, the player surrender(I have disabled all the player submit options in there, since i already use defeat for that) and offering other npc's sex with dialogue works fine as well. So the only thing that doesn't work is trying to make hostile npc's to submit(or rather, initiating dialogue once they have submited/fallen on the ground).

I don't know if it is the same thing affecting you but I have had this problem on occasion myself, and it is usually resolved by resetting my animation registry in sexlab, for some reason submit stops triggering animations so it just effectively skips them and acts like it's already happened. (at least in my case)

Submit and Defeat are essentially the same mod, and should not be used together.

I'm sure this is a big part of your problem, as scripts will be conflicting between the two mods. It's also likely that continuing to use both mods together will provide your save games with increasing instability as the scripts of both mods continue to corrupt each other.

I have read on the these forums from both mod authors themselves, that these mods work surprisingly well together and since im using MO instead of NMM, script corruption should be a problem right? A lot of people use both of these mods together without any problems, so i'm sure defeat is prolly not causing this.

I'll try the reset animation registry thing a bit later, but the problem is initiating the dialog, not getting animations to work, since they work using defeat.

Defeat and Submit work well together except for 1 specific feature - basically the automatic "combat" defeat/submit.  But because both are very modular, you can disable the automatic feature in one and keep the feature in the other (most people use the automated features of Defeat).  For a while, Defeat did not have any features for consensual sex, something Submit has had for a while.  Seduction-type features are being added to Defeat so at some point they may "do the same thing".  However, they can and do work well together currently.

See. Most people I've read have had nothing but problems using the two together.

Perhaps, if you could give detailed instructions on how to make both work together (with steps on how to setup MCM to make sure they're not doing the same things), I would be glad to test those steps and include Submit in my guide ;)

That's because most people don't actually read/search the Submit & Defeat threads to find the info that is there for them to read.  ;)

I actually stopped using Submit a while back, not because of any conflict with Defeat, but because there were issues with it causing a CTD.  Update of PapyrusUtils/SL1.60+ fixed the issue (apparently a Papyrus issue), and WF had posted a fixed version of Submit in the Submit thread, but I decided to use Defeat for combat rape and other mods for seduction (SLEN for example).  I have toyed with reinstalling Submit especially since another user (can't remember name) put a new version of Submit that handles up to a 5-person animations when using the seduction features.

In a nutshell, the ONLY feature that needs to be disabled to get them to work together is the automated submit/defeat during combat.  If I remember correctly, there is one or two prefs (checkbox/sliders) that needs to be disabled in the Submit MCM so that automatic combat rape is disabled.  Defeat's combat rape is more developed than Submit's so I would stick with Defeat for automated combat rape - dkatryl originally designed Submit to be a PC as rapist mod, PC/follower submission was added on later as was creature support so they were not as fully developed as Defeat's features.  Others have mentioned setting different thresholds for the automated features for Defeat and Submit,  but frankly I would just turn off the automated features of Submit and use Defeat's automated features.  All other features of Submit and Defeat can work together nicely since they are manual features and they are initiated differently - for the PC to rape an NPC, Submit uses NumPad7 (actually, it uses NP7 for EVERYTHING) and Defeat uses G key for PC and H key for followers.  Submit uses NP7 for PC to surrender and Defeat uses K key.  Again, no conflict.

Also, Submit is no longer maintained and is now horribly out of date. More is the pity.

It may be "out of date" but it apparently still works fine, and in fact works better under 1.60+ that it did under 1.59 - there was an issue with a papyrus call Submit used that the newer version of PapyrusUtils either fixed or changed, so the original version works without crashing.  However, there is a newer version that Waxenfigure did that fixed the issue under 1.59, and another user has updated Submit to allow 4/5 person animations in the Seduction feature.  So yes, the mod is no longer maintained by the original author, but it still works has been "updated" by other users.  However, there is no guarantee that another update to SexLab won't break it (nor any other mod that uses SexLab, for that matter).

The fixed Papyrus Util call removed one of two major problems with Submit but you still need to use either my patched version or the one with the additional people allowed in the seduction.

The last version from the author will cause stack dumps in crowded areas because of some poorly handled cloaking spells. Stack Dumps in case you don't know means scripts don't get run (not just for the offending mod) so mods get into unexpected situations and then appear to show bugs that really don't exist in the affected mod(s).

FWIW, I run both Defeat and Submit all the time. I use Submit for the consensual sex only and let Defeat handle all the rest.

What is this updated version of submit? Would it help with my problem?

The main reason I wan't to use submit is because of this mod - http://www.loverslab.com/topic/51395-sexlab-submit-recruit-follower/

I wan't to be able to get a lot of disposable followers after I have raped them, however, since I can't get the submit dialog going, the consentual sex is all I'm getting from submit currently (better than nothing).

Maybe if I'm not able to fix this problem, somebody can suggest an alternative?

I have disabled everything in the "Player as victim" section, so the submit wouldn't conflict with defeat in any way.

Good to know about the stack dump issue, and that your fix takes care of it.  So the "4+" also has that fix?  Good to know.

One cloak spell was really annoying because it was to find guards for the option to have guards interfere with public sex but it ran the spell first attaching a script to EVERY NPC within range, the script then checked if the NPC was a guard and if so then it checked to see if you had the option set to have guards interfere!

I modified the cloak spell to select only guards instead of every NPC and also checked the option FIRST and only cast the spell if the option is turned on. That makes a huge difference in how much scripting overhead the mod has.

I tried the updated version of submit, and resetting animation registry, neither solved my problem, dialogue is still not initiating.
