raptor4d4 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 How do you remove static items like furniture? I'm hoping I'm using the right terms here.  For example, I'm using a mod that has a room in it that is perfect for some screenshots I want to take. But the mod author has put furniture around the room that's getting in the way and I'd like to get rid of it.  In the past I've used the Jaxonz Positioner for stuff like this. I can select tables and chairs and stuff and delete them. But whatever the mod author did when he put the room together he made it so I can't select the items at all. I open the console and try to click on the items with the mouse but they don't register. I can bump into them so they are definitely there but at the same time the game kind of doesn't recognize them?  Am I making sense? Is there a mod that will let me remove/delete stuff like this? I'm no good with the Creation Kit so please don't recommend that.  Thanks for any help.Â
Yuuen Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Deleting them using the console was your best bet, if you used the positioner in the past you'd probably have to use it again.

Yuuen Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Like I said, WAS your best bet. As in, if that doesn't work. You have to use what worked for you before.
raptor4d4 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Like I said, WAS your best bet. As in, if that doesn't work. You have to use what worked for you before.  But in this particular instance nothing I have tried has worked.  I walked into the room. I tried clicking an item with the Jaxonz Positioner but it said it did register anything so it couldn't delete or modify it. I tried clicking on it with the console but it still wouldn't register. I then try it on other items/furniture in the room but in reverse. I try clicking with the console first and then the Positioner. Again, I'm not able to get the item to register. If it can't register, I can't delete it the ways I'm used to.  I believe I get what you're trying to say. You're saying using the Positioner has botched my ability to delete an item using the console. But this problem persists even when I try to delete using the console without using the Positioner first. And I have deleted stuff using MarkForDelete so I know that the command still works. I just can't select the target.  Am I out of luck here?
Yuuen Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Afraid so. Only other thing I can think of is maybe deleting the mesh files themselves? Unless they're a generic skyrim item, which would be a bad idea.

Unless they're a generic skyrim item, which would be a bad idea.  The room is a dungeon/bondage den. The items in question are things like pillories, X-Crosses and chains that shackle people to the walls. Stuff you an put NPCs in if you use the Display Model mod. I don't think any of these items are native to the game.  I want to clear these out so I can decorate the room with NPCs in the Display Model poses. Unfortunately these items are hogging all the best spots and you can actually make an NPC use them.  And I don't know how to delete mesh files.Â
Yuuen Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Open the mod's archive, look at the files it adds to the Meshes folder, then just check them for the furniture you're looking for. Once you know which files to delete, go find them following the same file path in your game files.
Andy14 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Open the console, click on the object and enter disable. Reversed works with enable.
Veladarius Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 When you click on something in the console it should pick up something, they can't hide it, look to the left side of the screen and see what it says you selected. You may be picking up things like the particle effect lights or smoke or something like that, something that takes up a large volume of space but displays very little. Try repositioning the camera as close as possible and select the item.
