Ashal Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Bandwidth costs on the site are getting out of hand (about $120 a month the past couple months x.x), trying to cut various minor elements such as attachment thumbnails rather than major cuts like lowering attachment sizes to see how it affects things bandwidth at the end of the month, if not worth it I'll re-enable them later and look for cuts elsewhere..

LOL Any host that offers unlimited bandwidth is going to be a shared host, which is super slow and this site wouldn't run properly on due to limits of their shared PHP install. Not to mention would most likely be banned from the host for being a pornographic site, or run extremely poorly. High quality is a major factor for me when running a web server. Simply the type of host your talking about isn't the type of host that could properly handle the amount of traffic LoversLab gets.

Ark of Truth Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 To be honest the JPEG preview isn't a major loss. Just link the pictures into the post in Spoilers. If Ashal has to make cuts for the site to stay up so be it that's fine by me. Besides the majority of pics are in the Spoilers anyway.

[/quote'] Yep, you get what you pay for is still true in most cases, I would think the preview would save a lot of download width compared to allowing full pictures without spoilers. I often open a thread and end up having pictures come up I didn't really want to see or have already seen. Is there a way to put spoilers as an option in the posting buttons, there seems to be a lot of people that just aren't tech savvy to learn the thingy easily. Or are pictures in spoilers downloading anyway?
