Ploms Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 ^the must have overhual of 2012 Thanks GSBmodders. There is a lot of things that my mod needs some work on though. I feel so stupid after finding out yesterday how easy it was to fix the skin texture of my orcs to look more smooth' date=' oh well better late then never. The male orcs still has the blocky textures but I'm working on it. Here is an example how the skin looks like now. Much better then the old blocky one, however I will try to tweak it more with noise to make it more realistic without making the skin look too blocky. [img']http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/2590/2012042900001.jpg[/img] Here are a better images how the body texture looks like:P
GSBmodders Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Looking good, BTW I hope that orc in your sig is a npc. She is one fine looking character.
Oblivion_Cat Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Good news I already have your old mod installed. So i'm very pleased to see your continued work.
Ploms Posted April 30, 2012 Author Posted April 30, 2012 I'm planning to post a patch at the end of this week. I will try to customize the NPC's better and maybe add some new hair and eyes. I will also add an extra esp file for people who just prefer human teeth instead. The normal maps needs a fix since they were a bit to flat, and the bush was a bit too big lol. I'm not very happy with the current orc teeth since they are very unstable compared to the face and I'm trying to make a better replacer. I'm not very good in blender so I don't know long it will take. Good news I already have your old mod installed. So i'm very pleased to see your continued work. Thanks, I have been a bit away from oblivion modding the last months because of other games and since I didn't find skyrim so fun to mod I went back to oblivion again.
Ploms Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 So I changed the normal maps with a slightly more rough one of the body and changed the face texture to a more smooth one so it would blend better with the rest of the body and I must say I kinda like this one better, so I will replace it I think in the next patch. The seam with the neck and wrist is a pain to reduce so I would be glad if anyone had any tips. The normal map of the body looks a bit more natural with the extra noise I gave it --------------------- update kinda. I will have the face texture with wrinkles as default but I will add the smooth face texture in the option folder for people who prefer it. the rest of my week will be a bit busy so the next patch will probably come next week. english is not my first language so sorry if it's a bit poorly written.
MonicaAngelBlade Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 These are amazing! >.< Thank you for finally giving me a reason to use an orc character One question. Are they compatible with Ozmo's Hi-res skin textures for HGEC?
Ploms Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 One question. Are they compatible with Ozmo's Hi-res skin textures for HGEC? yes they should be compatible since the orc textures are hi-res as well. I don't understand your question fully. If you're asking if they will conflict with ozmo's texture? then no they won't.
Ploms Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 My plan was to make a small patch but instead decided to just make a "big" patch for my mod so it will be done. Thing is that it might take a bit time to make so it's a bit uncertain when it will be ready.

Ploms Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 Been working on the male body textures that will replace the old ones. They will have a more smoother surface and I will sooner add some chest hair. The teeth is just a big pain for me to work on since I'm not very good with 3d programs and most of the time have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I wanted to make the female teeth a bit smaller and make the tusks more visible. This is what they look now. Since I have very little experience with 3d programs I have to tweek the teeth in nifscope and try blending the teeth with the lips. Therefor they might be a bit unstable for face animations sadly.
Ploms Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 It seems the only solution for me was to scale down the teeth to make them go very smooth with the mouth animation. This is what I ended up with. now that this problem has finally been solved I can begin on fixing the rest of the NPC's
Ploms Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 If everything goes smooth I'm going to be pretty much done with this mod and will upload a final version at the beginning of the weekend. I have spent waaaay to much time on this mod (most of the time messing around) so I am glad I can finally begin mod other things
Ploms Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Appreciate all the work you've done Ploms. Thanks I should have been done with this mod months ago but oh well , better late then never.
Poontank Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 The greatest things tend to take lots of time and effort. I'm glad you persisted and made it happen. The first character I created with your mod: Three different breeds of Orcs in one picture!
Zetsubou Ketti Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Thanks for making a good looking version of the orcs that still let them look a bit wild. I also really got a kick out of The Grey Prince's hair since it looked kind of like a fake, and exceedingly pompous wig.

[/quote'] I have replaced the hair, since I found it a bit ridiculous as well. I also made the gray prince gray lol
Ploms Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 NEW UPDATED VERSION I am now done with this mod but if there should be anything major problem then I will make a small hotfix. a big thanks to people for giving me the motivation to finish this mod.

Zetsubou Ketti Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I have replaced the hair' date=' since I found it a bit ridiculous as well. I also made the gray prince gray lol [/quote'] Awww...I actually liked his silly hair. He just looked so damn smug. It fit him exactly. Thanks again for sharing this with us! @DuskOwl You don't have to register for 4shared to download. FreeRapid Downloader will work perfectly fine for 4shared and many other such sites, although you usually still have to input captchas. Its free (they occasionally ask for donations) and requires java to be installed. Here's the link if you're interested; http://wordrider.net/freerapid/.
Ploms Posted May 11, 2012 Author Posted May 11, 2012 Thanks for the tip Zetsubou Ketti. I will upload it there later today Silly me, I need to read properly before posting
