{BUG} I can't joim Stormcloak

I can't join stormcloak via randon quest, Ulfric just can't be found in Kings Plalace. Is anyone knows which of my mods broke my favourite fraction I'll be really grateful

Alright, well first of all, why aren't you using LOOT? xD No reason not to download it, go right now okay hun? Okay.

 

I know this goes without saying but, you are aware the first you enter the Palace of Kings Ulfric is not in his throne room yes? He's in a room to the left (I think?) Speaking to his lieutenant about the war.

 

If you can't find him throughout the Palace, just spawn him to you (Make sure you're inside the palace, to not harm anything)

Just to be sure (and I apologize you if I mistake you as noob), have you already finished alternate version of MQ101 (entering Helgen/ rescuring either Hadvar or Ralof from the cave) (since you have activated Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp)?

it is not until vanilla/ non-vanilla Helgen event that Ulfric is to be returned to his palace.

That's common when using Alternate Start: the game will not allow you to join the civil war factions, because you need to rescue one of the two soldiers in the cave (Hadvar or Rolaf). After that the vanilla quest chain is restored.

Any of the starts from the base Live Another Life mod should not cause the problem. It seems to be the New Beginnings addon, which does not correctly give you the same quest that any of the other LAL starts do( the "Live Another Life" quest which describes the start you chose, and has the "Begin Your new life" objective), and thus does not spawn Ulfric(and likely Tullius) where they should be. The same thing happened with my character Joudi, and even after doing the main quest past Dragon Rising, Ulfric was not in the Palace of the Kings. She did not go into the cave for Ralof either, though I wouldn't think that is a requirement, since the quest specifies going into the cave as optional.

 

Although it also looks like Live Another Life and New Beginnings are not sorted properly in the load order too - they should be last. Also the DLC .esm files and their respective patches at not placed corretly either. LOOT should place them like this(at least the vanilla DLC/patches):

Also, since you have all three DLC, you might consider getting the Legendary version of Book Covers Skyrim - which covers all books in the base game and DLC with one esp.

Thanks for your feedback - never used that New Beginnings mod, yet I can confirm that I can't join a civil war faction until I finished the Helgen quest chain (while using LAL mod, of course). And, as I said, that is most likely because the game needs the variable solved that the hero saved one of the two main characters.
