Sexlab animations - remove the bowing

Is there any way to remove the "traditional" Japanese style bowing before any sex act? It is generally irritating and looks ridiculous in the 'Defeat' rape scenes!

There is no such "bowing" in all of SexLab.

 

What you're describing is without a doubt the temporary placeholder animation that happens at the start of animations in the 1.61 beta 1 release. An issue that is noted several times in the beta development thread. If you're not going to read the details of a beta and provide appropriate feedback for it, don't use it and wait for the official release instead. Sorry if that's overly harsh sounding, but the amount of people who use the alpha/beta releases of SexLab without ever uttering a single word of feedback before release is simply infuriating.

 

Beta 1 is out of date as of 8-ish hours ago by the way. Released 1.61 Beta 2 earlier today. So if you're going to use a development version, you might as well use an up to date development version that that specifically includes fixes for this.

??  huh?  I thought that was the result of the strip animation checkbox in Sexlab

It's probably the strip animation, in which case you can disable that in the MCM.

Ashal, I'm happy with my 1.60 set up. I didn't mention the version but thanks for the feedback.

 

Now, thanks Kelvryn and xTrogdorx I do have this box checked, usually, so I'll uncheck it. Perhaps I'm mistaking the "trousers down" animation as a bow! Lol!   I didn't think of it that way.

Yeah.  The "bow" is due to the undressing animation.  It kinda looks phony and really shouldn't trigger in all situations, but it does in nearly all.  That animation might need some loving.  

Ashal just got a little defensive.  And honestly I don't blame Ashal.  Happens almost every time a new beta drops.  Some dipstick runs and cries on the forums about some little thing on the BETA release that broke their game and didn't even read the beta release notes.  Kinda sad and funny at the same time really...

I personally find it funny when I am running Sexlab Sex Slaves by Fishburger where you have to rape Vess...and she's already naked.  It goes thru the undress animation for her when she's already naked.  Or when Jenny and the other Sex Slaves are already naked (save for the labia exciters) they do the animation too.  It would be nice if the animation ran after a checking to see if all actors were dressed or not...but that might be too much for it.  I dunno.  I have no idea how that stuff works.

Thanks Sural Argonus.  Yep - that animation definitely needs loving. The funny thing is that I thought it was some kind of Japanese courtesy bow when in fact it is supposed to be actors removing their trousers / skirts!! I can't get over my misinterpretation! The thing is, I know a lot about Japanese culture and it must have influenced how I saw the animation.  No ill-will to Ashal - I know exactly how s/he feels.

 

I'm a mod user, and what with work, kids, wife, house, and a Skyrim game that crashes at a faint cough, I honestly don't have the time to learn how to mod or animate. So I'm totally reliant on the good will of those who can. Therefore I'm happy to live with the odd quirk in animation and thanks to the folks who make mods happen! I do actually read all the mod notes and prefer to use a mod once it is kind of 'proven'.

 

I've now unticked the animation check box in Sexlab. So hopefully consigned the 'Japanese Bow' to history!
