ralfetas Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 So how compatible is Skyrim armors to FO4? I know its a pain in the ass now but once we get the tools. Will it be easier or is porting meshes from Skyrim to FO4 the same as Oblivion port to Skyrim? Talking about quality obviously. With OS i think all this will be pretty simple, of course making standalone armors will need edit esp, but this can be done now already. About quality, in skyrim we have some very nice highpoly stuff, i don't see loss. Can't wait to start making this

Can't wait to start making this Outfit Studio can handle FO3/NV, Skyrim and FO4 NIF files, but it can't convert them between games as of now. So if you load a Skyrim NIF and attempt to use it for FO4, it won't work, unless you have used other software before to convert it into the FO4 NIF format. It's something we could do at some point, but not yet, as it requires quite a bit of work.
deltadeath93 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I have open this thread because I thought that if the boy he can already, there should be no problems to convert the other! I Misunderstood I? If yes then i'm sorry! Topic http://www.loverslab.com/topic/55152-2pacs-cbbe-skimpy-armor-and-clothing-replacer-wip/ You misunderstood... 2Pac already has access to the Outfit Studio (OS) tool, I guess given directly by Caliente (in a 'I choose myself who to give it to' way, so don't bother to ask.). That's why he can convert Skyrim outfits to Fallout 4. he has also stated he refuses to release any of said outfits until caliente says its ok and releases cbbe from alpha status to full public version again post geck release So how compatible is Skyrim armors to FO4? I looked into trying to do that for the cbbe body using a skyrim textures for a more sporty body look. once I saw how many variations of textures there was and how complex it was I said no way its well above my pay grade. and i'll just have to wait
Jeffglobal Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Hi all, now we have alpha version of CBBE but functional, soon (i hope) It will be released the final version.. I saw that the conversion of the mesh from Skyrim / Oblivion CBBE is simple so I would enter a list of armor that I would find in FO4! Thanks all ever! It's so easy to convert for whom? I'd like to be directed to said workflow... Thanks for any direction.

I tried to open some of the mods' meshes making new content on the FO4 nexus and NifSkope 2.0 wouldn't open the file. So THOSE guys are part of the in grp with Caliente and friends? @Ralfetas Are you talking about FO4Edit? I have TESEdit/FONVEdit/FO3Edit to try to play with stuff to get up to speed. Where the heck have you guys gone and done to get up to speed with this stuff? I'm only 2 weeks into making mods. @Cell Can't I use Marvelous Designer with 3ds Max and make my own stuff that way? Once there's a way to convert 3ds/obj files into the nifs the game understands? I feel like when I was with my Puerto Rican wife at a party and everyone was speaking spanish and my spanish wasn't that good! How do I learn the language of modding?

Or is there more work required?

Guest Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Arent those synonymous when it comes to modding?
MorganRiggs Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Arent those synonymous when it comes to modding? Hehe, i guess they are but I meant that sometimes the tools you are using / existent are uncufficent depending on what you are planning to do

Or is there more work required? It's not only the file format that got changes and additions - you have to change the default pose of the outfits to the FO4 one as well, which is nothing that can't be done in Outfit Studio. So you will have to do that in 3ds max or Blender and load the finished OBJ/FBX files into Outfit Studio. You also have to rig the outfit for FO4's bones and weighting. That can be done in Outfit Studio or elsewhere for better quality. FO4 also uses a different format for normal maps and specular maps. So those would have to be converted for the outfit as well, using for example Photoshop with the beta DDS plugin by Intel which just came out. Once a working Blender/3ds max plugin comes out, you can use that to convert from game to game (by doing the things above) and optionally tweak it further in Outfit Studio.

rorycampbell<3 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Well, there is still months to come till I can access my computer with f4 and skyrim on it, I can't do any conversion myself. I am gonna resurrect this thread lol. Anyway, this outfit I found a while ago looks great for Minutemen and Brotherhood characters, maybe a little further retexturing by different modders tho. But still this will look GREAT in f4. So please convert this thankssssss. Link : Adler Preview
