DjaySaint Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 is annoying... Before the rollback, I was able to upload my entire mod to the site with no issues. After the rollback, I will have to mirror part of the mod because of the 100 mb size limit. Why is this in place to begin with? I'll mirror, but those are unreliable as some times file sharing sites take down files. I'd rather upload the entire thing as one mod here, but I can't. Was able to with the new forum, can't with the old. If this could be changed that would be great. I don't want to deal with reuploads from mirrors.
myuhinny Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Pretty sure it's because of bandwidth bigger the file the more bandwidth it takes to download it. You could just break the mod into 2 parts and your problem is solved.
txzeenath Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Pretty sure it's because of bandwidth bigger the file the more bandwidth it takes to download it. You could just break the mod into 2 parts and your problem is solved. Breaking a 400mb file into 4 100mb pieces is going to use the same amount of data for your monthly quota. If anything, it's worse because you're having to support more connections as they request files each time. Generally it's to discourage usage for large files all together. I would gladly donate to the site and I'm sure others would too if it meant we could have data caps removed from the downloads section. I really dislike having to go through fileshare sites for them.
myuhinny Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Out of all of the file places I find https://mega.co.nz/to be the best and you probably won't have to worry about shit like what mediafail pulled awhile back.
DjaySaint Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Why was this moved to Technical Support? It's neither technical, nor am I asking for support. I'm providing feedback on the forum, which should go in the Community General Discussion forum. As the forum says, "Talk about anything related to the community or modding in general!". This is "anything related to the community". Not "I don't know nothing pls halp!". If this were a question looking for a solution, then it would belong here. But it doesn't because it's feedback. We don't post feedback in Technical Support. Please move it back. Thanks.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 There's mega and there's other fileshare sites that offer 50gbs with a free account.
