eugenenelson2011 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 So I just logged in today and I couldnt login. My email adress was not found, nor was my username. All my posts are gone. I only had 12 posts. And never did I do anything remotely rules breaking. All I did was ask questions. Mods that I was following on here are now not here. Posts others made where they answered my questions are gone. Pages of posts in general are missing that I was using. Am I missing something huge that happened or what?
Guest Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 The site was rolled back of 1 month this morning. So if you created your used after November 2nd, then your user was not existing anymore. Check the archive: http://archive.loverslab.com here you should be available.
eugenenelson2011 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Wha?? Why was that done? That seems very very odd and unfortunate.
faggballs Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yea, i think it's becouse of the site being reverted to it's original state, the admin did say that some post would have been deleted beacouse of it.
Aria Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Ashal had some problems and to keep his sanity he reverted the site back, im glad though, i like this old LL alot more.
darkfender666 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Well i guess if mod could post an announcement telling about the rollback it would be easier for people that missed the previous.
rtsp Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 The post detailing the rollback can be found here, on the archived site. I don't understand why it hasn't been made here as well, as it could clear up a lot of potential confusion.
Guest Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 @Ashal said he was going to post a "We are back on the old site" announcement. But he didn't do it (yet.)
XunAmarox Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 This happened: After struggling with it for the past month and no clear line to everything being fully ready, I'm left with two options. 1) Continue as things are now with some features broken and poor site stability until maybe it eventually works out. 2) Revert the site back to before the forum upgrades when everything was stable and functional. Given those choices, if option 1 doesn't work out it could eventually mean the death of the site, and while option 2 isn't very ideal either, the more time that passes the less feasible it becomes. So I've decided to go ahead and revert the site back to pre-upgrade. This means ALL posts, topics, new registration, uploads, or anything else that has happened on the site since November 2nd will no longer exist and have to be redone. To lessen this blow, I plan to transition the site back to the reverted version overtime. For the next 48 hours, this current forum will remain the site you see when you go to the normal URL. The reverted version of the site is already up and accessible as of this post at http://www2.loverslab.com If you have content you want to move over, you can do so now and users in general are recommended to use that version of the site over this one right away. After 48 hours or so have passed, the www2 version of the site will switch so that the old forums become the primary forums once again, and these forums will be put into a read-only state on a different URL so people can continue to get anything off it that they need and didn't get a chance to copy over before the switch. I know this isn't ideal, is a huge pain, will upset various users and all I can really do is say "I know, sorry." For my own sanity and for what I believe the better option, this is the route that I think best ensures the future health and stability of LoversLab overall. Things will rebound with time, the site has been around for years and hopefully many more.
SkrimKnight Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Well i guess if mod could post an announcement telling about the rollback it would be easier for people that missed the previous. The announcement was pretty hard to miss, it was on the front page and at the top of every file page and thread for over 72 hours.
Content Consumer Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I believe I'm supposed to point you here now.
gregathit Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Well i guess if mod could post an announcement telling about the rollback it would be easier for people that missed the previous. The announcement was plastered at the top of the page for 4 days. The problems with the new site and the broken back end software was up for a month. We could not be more open about what was going on or what we did about it than we were.
