Rax Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 so i converted the apachii goddess store to DMRA, and between enabling the mod and starting it up again my character had equipped the kali chain thong, a shiny metal skull and chain thing. when i reloaded my game i got a HUGE fps drop from having this thing on. i can unequip it and my fps goes back up to around 30. can anyone provide some insight?
myuhinny Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 How many chains does it have and how many polys does the nif have? The more vertices in a nif or on a item piece the higher the poly count. How big is the nif in size? Also have you tried replacing it with a unaltered one to see if it might of been caused by something you did when you converted it to DMRA?
gregathit Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 There are several FPS killers in Aapchii's store. It is as Myuhinny stated, a matter of a ridiculously high poly count. Other than re-tweaking it with blender or nifskope, not much can be done unfortunately.
kastano Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Did you have a fps drop before you converted it? open your mesh in nifscope spells -> batch -> make all skin partitions - if it dissapears completely you have problems with vertex weights also optimize your mesh
QuiteTheTail Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Try also the option Mesh > Triangulate in Nifskope (it's the opposite of Stripify). It appears that the latest advancements in the field of graphic hardware render detrimental (or useless, at least) the process of converting triangles to strips.
varenne Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Yup, NIF cleaning using Spells as well as running it through PyFFI often helps. If not the NIF may be in some way fubared or just plain too high poly count for Oblivion. You can always post a copy here and one of us could review it too.
