I played LE for the longest time and switched to SE due to most of the modern mods being made for that. I crash way less and it runs just fine. Not all of your LE mods can be transferable but you can find similar replacements to do the job. If it's on sale I'd just go for it.

I already have SE actually so getting it wont be a problem XD

The main concern that I have is that, for example now trying a gameplay on LE I keep getting a lot of performance and stability issues that makes me play like if Im walking on eggs. Go into a room to change a thing from a mod and in the 4 attempts I did, went like:

- Load then a few seconds later endless delay.

- Crash

- Another crash

- Load to then keep stuck and crash after.

The gameplays regularly werent that different. Were smooth for a while, then faced an enemy and right when combat was about to end, another crash.... And like, I always try to keep my game setup as clean and tidy as possible, specially careful about load orders, plugin cleaness and having all mods and animation based ones to stay as stable as possible with their respective requirements but as typical, I end up having issues. Then I load a game such as Conan Exiles (Which btw is far easier to mod) and I can play for hours non stop without issues besides big ass initial load time; but even when the game microfreezes, it comes back right up. While in Skyrim everytime the game gets a microfreeze it ALWAYS preeceds a crash, or an endless frozen screen....

Before I didnt mind that cause the experience of Skyrim was absolutely unrivaled, but recently with other nice games adding nice stuff, even if still a mile away from Skyrim's levels, I feel more drawn to those that have less but stable content than playing my LE version and it makes me feel terrible cause I know this game has a huge potential that ends up wasted for the performance.

I know that recently a lot of nice mods come for SE as exclusives, such as some with the twinblades of soulslike games and that's another reason that pushed me to start modding SE but.... Im begining to think that maybe I should focus on book it to turn it into the replacer of LE instead of slowly modding it to find which kind of Skyrim subvariant I want it to be.

Thing is, if Im gonna commit to that, I need to know that the performance wont annoy me on SE nearly as much, or if at all, if Im like I tend to be now with my game setup; trying to keep my mod list as compact as possible and the whole setup as organized and clean as it should be. You say that with SE you crash way less and that it seems to run fine. Have you felt that SE felt buggy before? Not buggy in terms of things like giants yeeting you to a paralel universe with a hammer swing, but buggy in terms of suddenly crashing for no reason or having an endless frozen screen out of nowhere?

Well in LE my game would crash every time I changed my characters hair in racemenu, that hasn't happened in SE and that was one of my biggest gripes. No more infinite loading, I've had it crash once when loading into a new area, and performance was just better. I haven't had it CTD at all. Since you probably know what mods you want it shouldn't be as bad as modding the first time. I also play on a computer that isn't built for gaming but it still runs OK.

LMAO you just made me remind the issues I have in LE everytime I browse the hairstyles that has HDT physics like Dint's packs, game not always crash but I ALWAYS need to be surgeon-like careful when browsing on those cause unless I change it at the very first load of the game it would crash even before finishing the face edit.

Oh hell yeah, the infinite loadings are one of the things I always despised the most of Skyrim.

I play on a gaming laptop, not very powerful of a PC but it's decent enough to run most triple A games on High with almost 60frames, and even Cyberpunk runs with a "playable" experience so I guess this smol thing packs a punch XD.

And about the mods, like.... I have a clear idea on a bunch of them, the thing is that there's a lot that I have installed that adds content I love but that I have no idea what the mod name that adds it even is. But I guess if Im willing to mod a game like Conan without knowing a thing about what it has or lacks, I guess with Skyrim SE it wouldnt be that different.

Well, glad to know that there's at least hope with SE. Thing is, I have no idea where to even start. Specially with the whole AE debacle. I think a bunch of mods that I use, in their SE version they require the SE version since the AE causes issues everywhere. So, any help from someone that had been in my shoes having to start modding SE to match their LE version would be apreciated ^^'

Couldn't get surver x to work for some reason, or really any other flopmod

Hmm...? Did you install CBPC for your specific version of the game and its requirements? And what version of the game do you have?

Ok I can't remember where right now but I'd google downgrading your game to the version right before the AE update before you start.

I got my computer resurrected with some new parts. As expected, the game runs better with a newer processor!

Unfortunately, ENB is still making my GPU go into a meltdown, so I might need to look into upgrading to something beefier later. What kind of hardware do I need to comfortably run ENB? Would a 2060 or RX 6600 be enough? I'm tired of glancing at my computer like it's about the explode while I'm just trying to set up a pose. I assume everyone here has a 4090 or something else that costs as much as a car ?

RX 580. I get pretty decent frames even with ENB, (at least indoors with one character ?) but it will overheat to the point my PC will shut off if I run Skyrim for too long.

Maybe improve airflow/ better fans?

Depends on ENB.

My current : MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z + Intel I7 8700k + 32Gb RAM + SSD Samsung 980 = Truth ENB (max settings) + ultra game settings + lot of 4k textures = stable 60 fps in open world on full hd monitor.

I don't think it helps that I went with one of the heaviest ENBs out there, PI-CHO, mainly for the features I thought would help in taking screenshots. (Which is mainly what I use Skyrim for)

How are your temperatures? I assume a heavily modded Skyrim is quite taxing regardless, but are you in constant danger of shutting down? Do you also have expensive coolers?

That's not some crazy water cooling setup. It does sound like simply having a more powerful GPU will make running the game less of a hassle.
