These CTDs need to get off my lawn :|

So, I've got two problems.

First Problem: Whenever I try to enter the Whiterun marketplace, just as I reach the woodcutter's block near Belethor's store, I get a CTD. I thought it might have been a mod conflict, but I haven't been able to find anything. I am a serious n00b at troubleshooting, so I ask forgiveness in advance.

Second Problem: Whenever I try to trigger animations for any adult mod (Animated Prostitution and Radiant Prostitution being the two I've tested so far), I get a CTD.

 

I just recently reinstalled Skyrim to fix a problem I was getting with CTDs every 3-5mins. I had previous installed some mods manually, before I learned how to install them with NMM. Not sure if that information helps, but there you have it.

Processor: Intel® Pentium® CPU G3258 @ 3.20GHz

Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB

Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series

Gaming graphics: 6876 MB Total available graphics memory

Primary hard disk: 510GB Free (931GB Total)

I use NMM

I have the latest versions of SKSE

I have LOOT, Tes5Edit and Wrye Bash, though I only LOOT because I have no idea what I'm doing with Tes5Edit and Wrye Bash.

Okay first things first, Tes5Edit is actually REALLY REALLY REALLY simple lmao when it opens it should bring up your mod list and most likely the Skyrim.esp is unchecked. Leave them unchecked and there should be a "okay" button on the bottom of the list. Click this button an it should run and check the mods. If an error pops up this is where your problem most likely lies. It should say the mod and the reason it is causing an error (which is mostly a required mod you need with it) on the bottom of the data the program went through. If Tes5Edit runs smoothly and completes without error It could be something you did manually. The CTD situations you gave sound like it could be some animation mod you installed thats not compatible with something. Have you installed any new animations since the crashing started? The best thing to do is go through your mod list and uncheck the MOST RECENT mods that you installed since the problem occurred and nit pick and see what you need to turn off to make your game run smoothly.

Beyond some ill-defined point in modding it really becomes necessary to take additional care to create a stable and playable game. For that I would strongly recommend taking a look at the STEP Guide.

 

A couple of notes: you are missing the unofficial patches for the DLC, and I'm guessing that the Update and DLCs have not been cleaned. Both are recommended for heavy modding.

Ok, looking at your load list, I can tell you I have issues with Alternate Start causing crashes with just about any sexlab mod, once you finish quests related to that mod, disable it and should solve alot of crashes when initiating sex.

Envy, I've run both Alternative Start with Sexlab before these issues came up and everything worked reasonably well. I will definitely test that out as well and see if it helps any, though.

 

I downloaded the unofficial patches for Dragonborn, Dawnguard and Hearthfires and cleaned the DLCs and the update, as Sailing Rebel mentioned. I'm currently going through my mod list and checking the mods I've installed within the past week or so, one by one, for the CTD I'm getting in Whiterun. Nothing so far, but fingers crossed! If I can't find the problem with those mods, I'm going to uninstall all my mods and reinstall them one by one and see if I can't find it that way.

 

Rinse and repeat for the CTD with sex animations if I don't catch it during the above check.

I can't see a XPMS .esp in your load order (does the RacemenuPluginXPMSE,esp contain a skeleton file? I don't use Racemenu, that's why I'm asking), did you installed the skeleton manually (drag & drop the skeleton file)?

I use the XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended. I think the esp file you pointed out does have a skeleton file, though I'm not 100% sure.

The actual XPMSE build uses a XPMSE.esp file. Again, I don't use Racemenu so this could be different for an ECE user like me.

 

A missing/incorrectly installed XPMS skeleton could explain your CTD (obviously when you trigger animations or when you approach an NPC that uses a XPMS-required body).

 

Anyway, a CTD on a specific location means that a mesh/skeleton file is missing in that area, and the CTD on animations could be skeleton related (FNIS or XPMS incorrectly installed).

What mod install do you use, or do you do it manually?

 

Well, you should reinstall your skeleton and make sure its the current version, since alot of things you have installed work well with it. Also try these they help for games with alot of mods and scripts running in background

Don't uninstall XPMSE (looking at your mod list, that will immediately crash your game); just install with the correct options according to your mod list build.

 

Probably you are installing a wrong skeleton, so when the animations/NPC trigger the game CTD due to inadequate skeleton.
