FalloutNV.exe - System Error

Already been googling and nothing I haven't tried already is coming up. I get three errors saying I am missing steam_api.dll, binkw32.dll, and libvorbisfile.dll in that order.  Everything is up to date: Fallout New Vegas, NVSE, and the fallout new vegas 4gb.  I think its possibly a sexout-related issue as it mostly happens soon after initiating sex, but not always.  It also just started around two weeks ago but no mod changes happened during that time.  I really want to avoid a reinstall as that's a long download for me, not to mention redoing my mods which was a hassle to find the one way to get them all installed in proper order.

EDIT: Yes, the three "missing" files are located in the same folder as the main executable, nvse.exe, and the 4gb file.

Edit 2: Verifying the cache temporarily fixes the issue but it does return.  Mods and Load order will be posted once i find the instructions on how to get the version I can copy/paste

Where do you have your game installed to? If you have it in your program folder you need to move it to some place else like your game folder. Computer\computer brand\games if you have it installed in your program folder where steam is it can cause problems with the game running correctly.

It is installed to the default location (in Program Files (x86)) and hasn't caused issues before, but that is something new to try at least. Thanks for the suggestion and I will post back after I try it.

Just some additional information that may help you out:

binkw32.dll, and libvorbisfile.dll should be in \Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas

steam_api.dll is in several places on my drive but I don't have one in \Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas or any subfolder of NV

Check you windows system event log for red or yellow items with source as disk, it sounds to me like you have some disk corruption or failing drive possibly since you say verifying your steam cache fixes the problem but only temporary. Mods will not cause this problem but hardware or virus issues will. You can also run chkdsk /f from a command prompt from within your admin account to verify that you don't have file corruption.

@myuhinny Moved the entire folder to Computer\Drive\Games\SteamLIbrary then specified it as a valid library in steam.  Steam recognized it and is now validating it.  Though the 4gb extender file now won't load "Unable set current dir to game dir. The system cannot find the path specified."

@Imperfection I checked my event log but didn't find anything specified as disk. All I was finding was errors starting Windows 10 features I disabled (Cortana mainly).  My antivirus has found nothing. Check Disk also found nothing wrong.

EDIT: The 4gb error was fixed by re-enabling Run as Admin. Apparently moving it unset that option.  I am still getting the same original errors after moving the folders.

I went searching through the Event Viewer again, and this time I saw only a notification pertaining to FalloutNV.exe: "RADAR_PRE_LEAK_WOW64".  Skyrim (which may wind up getting its own thread as it gives me errors and CTD too) is also showing up in the log.  It had an error code but I didn't copy it down before the log got cleared (got too big for its settings.)  Anyone able to help me piece this all together so I can narrow down which culprit it is?

List your hardware configuration otherwise try

1. Scan your system with malwarebytes to check for buggies

2. Run windows memory diagnostics

3. run system file checker, sfc /scannow

4. Update graphics card drivers

5. Clean boot see if issue persists

6. what is you cpu temp?

RADAR_PRE_LEAK_WOW64 = memory leak

This sounds like it might  possibly be an issue with the Games For Windows Live.

There were "System Error" messages related to those crashes, if I remember properly.

There's a fix / mod available for that.

If I'm off base, just ignore me.

@CoxcombCornking I will have to go looking for that unless it was uninstalled when I upgraded to Windows 10.

@Imperfection malwarebytes came up empty, will try the memory diagnostics, sfc came back no corruption, will check to see if my graphics are up to date or not (had an issue where they kept black screening certain games on first upgrading when I updated them), will try a clean boot next restart, my CPU overall temp is averaging 108-109 Farenheit.

EDIT: Clean boot still gave the errors, downloaded and installed latest graphics card drivers before that, Disk check hung at 23% for three hours before I finally shut down the pc.

Will have to order one but will do.  FONV will no longer load.  Steam keeps giving me the "Preparing to launch" message then closing then reopening it again in a loop.  At this point, I think my solution will have to be a full system wipe and reinstall.

Sorry to hear that, I know rebuilding and reinstalling everything takes a lot of time.

Weirdness just keeps happening. Rebooted my pc, tried again, now it loaded and let me play for a while then didn't CTD but instead minimized to desktop which is what happens right before the 3 "missing dll" errors pop up.  I am going to try a clean reinstall of FONV first before I do a wipe and reinstall of my OS (going to backup the vanilla FONV first, save me some bandwidth lol)
