mostdope123 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 So I used to play modded skyrim awhile ago and i had it cracked, then my harddrive broke which i probably deserved.. now i have a new one and im going to get skyrim again (steam this time) and also thinking of trying fallout modded.. However I can't buy either game rn due to various problems and I probly won't be able to for around two weeks What I'm wondering is, if i get myself started again on a cracked version of one of the games will I be able to keep everything once I install with steam? Which I will definitley be doing because I no longer trust cracked stuff seeing as I've had plenty of viruses n malfunctions in my time which I can only imagine is because of all the non legal games etc I used in the past so on my new Hard Drive I'm gonna steer clear from all that.. But rn Fallout 4 is on the way and I have the need to play NewVegas and I REALLY CBA to wait.. so yeah, will any save files and mods i use on the cracked version still work once I play on steam? or should I just wait it out? and also does steam actually support the type of mods on this site?

I am looking to get NewVegas first not Skyrim, but ok thats fair, does that mean that steam will support the adult mods from here?

If you are getting legal copies from steam it is best to just dump the cracked stuff and start new. Steam doesn't have a fallout section of mods only skyrim. Steam works with mods from here but with any mod there can be conflicts.

You're stupid enough to try a cracked version despite all the issues you're having. Long story short, no one can answer this question for you. Each illegal version of the game does things differently - and that's the main reason we don't support them. I've seen issues ranging from the game simply not starting through to the height map not generating properly in some cells. Then the person with the cracked game comes asking for help with bugs they think are being caused by our mods when they aren't. Chances are good you probably won't even be able to load Sexout or any other complicated mod with a pirated game - NVSE requires hooking into the Steam Community to operate.
