Emiamei Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hey, I love what you are doing here! This is one of the most lacking areas in the game. I'm really looking forward to playing this mod! I would be willing to help if there is anything I can do that you need. I write, but I'm guessing you have that covered? If you are looking for voice acting let me know, I am female, not an experienced actor but I have good recording equipment. My accent is sort of generic, I'm Scandinavian so should be able to pull off a Nord character also. Unfortunately I have 0 experience modding. Though, I am hoping to make a mod similar to yours in scope, and so I am starting to poke around in the CK. If I manage to learn something useful I'd be happy to help out. I was wondering how much modding/programming experience you have? Do you think it is possible to start as a beginner and pull something off like what you are doing? Basically what I want to do is make a mod that puts the PCs family in the game. Your parents and siblings. An ancestral home to come back to, some family bliss and maybe a tiny bit of drama. A childhood friend turned grown up loyal follower perhaps. So I'd need to make five or six NPCs, a house, some quests... Learn to script a little bit. I'd like to make it so that your parents can take care of your kids if you go adventuring... and for your family to show up at your wedding... and ideally for them to have some dialogue with your spouse, or at least congratulate you. I don't even know of these things are possible to accomplish. If I do manage to make something it could be cool to patch it in with your mod, so that the PC can bring the new and improved Onmund back home to introduce him to her/his parents, etc, if you think that sounds interesting. Anyway, any advice or input you can offer me would be super appreciated. And if there is anything I can do to help this mod get made let me know because this is seriously the thing that I have missed the most in Skyrim. I tried Skyrim romance and I have to say that Bishop just made me feel angry and slightly nauseous the whole time. Not cool.

I tried Skyrim romance and I have to say that Bishop just made me feel angry and slightly nauseous the whole time. Not cool. It is absolutely possible to start off as a beginner and make amazing stuff. I knew nothing about scripts and making quests in CK 2 months ago, but thanks to WraithSlayer, now I know how to do simple but significant tricks in quest dialogues. But of course, you must know how to google, read official tutorials and dissect the data in CK yourself. This is actually my very first mod that is related to quest and story. I had made NPC facelift and some simple mods before, but that can hardly help anything in this mod. I don't think it takes much experience to make a similar kind of mod, as long as you're willing to learn, and you're not doing something that apparently takes an expert or a professional to do (like RaceMenu, Sexlab Framework, or mods that require programming). What you mentioned are possible to accomplish, although I suspect I would not be a good teacher, I think I can give you the basic concepts and keys. However, I don't think it's possible for a mod like yours to be compatible with mine, as I don't think it's a good idea to set boundaries to the player's background, and would not plan on implementing this concept into my mod, so they wouldn't be compatible story-wise. When I need a voice actress, I would definitely inform you, thanks!
Emiamei Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Thanks so much for replying, it is impressive and very inspiring to hear that you are a relative beginner to modding and yet have been able to make something like this! Also great to hear that my idea doesn't sound impossible! If you could point me in a good direction to finding good tutorials or some resources that you have found useful I'd be much obliged. I am pretty good at googling and I'm not looking for a teacher per se or my hand held, I just don't know enough about this stuff yet to be able to determine what information is current and relevant. If you know off the top of your head something that helped you get started I'd love to hear about it. I found some basic CK tutorials that I am looking at and getting used to not being scared of the CK itself. Totally understand about story incompatibility, it was just a thought I am just inspired by what you are trying to do here! I'm following this thread, looking forward to seeing the progress of this mod. When I get my hands on Onmund after years and years of being deprived of romance he won't know what hit him...
Anbeegod Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Existing romance content has been enhanced (improved dialogue options and scripts); also, the first dialogues that lead to sex is finally introduced. I will focus on World Interaction in the next week. Onmund will comment on the cities, locations, weather, the surrounding atmosphere and landscape. To be honest, I've begun to find it odd that this thread is still in the Sexlab board, as Sexlab is not really the most significant part in this mod. However, putting it here can surely attract more sight, and it does indeed have Sexlab content, so there shouldn't be much problem.
DigitalVixen Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Definitely looking forward to this! So little actual romance content for us gals. As a side-note the Skyrim Romance mod is being reworked completely - new voice-acting for Bishop and rewritten dialogue and this time with animations for kissing, hugging and sex.
Anbeegod Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 The number of lines has just passed 1200 and the mod is still far from over. In the beginning, I estimated that there would only be around a thousand lines; now it seems that it would be a lot more, perhaps even more than 2000. Finished cities and apartments comments, will move to city-specific conversations and city quests comments this week (or next week?). For now, Onmund has around 10 comments in each of the major cities. The city-specific conversations will be about the problems in the cities, like racism in Markarth and Windhelm, crimes in Riften; however, I'm not very good at writing good and bright sides of things, and I couldn't find the dark sides of Solitude and Whiterun, so these 2 will likely not have long and in-depth conversations, but instead something simpler. And the city quests comments/conversations will be about city quests like In My Time Of Need, Lights Out, Forsworn Conspiracy. I'm going to put the personal quest of Onmund in the last of my work list. It's too complicated and involves different types of work, which I had not fully understood yet.

Huh, I've been thinking, will the characters you change make their comments a little different based on their relationship with you? Like for example, if one of them is friends with you, they'll probably speak their mind about something in an area. But if they happen to be in a romantic situation with you, they might curb that comment, or maybe even add more to that comment, or it could be as subtle as simply replacing 'my friend' with 'my love'.

Yes. Just in case some people don't know, only vanilla races can gain access to some dialogues.
Anbeegod Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 Well, since LL was reset to early November, I need to inform people that I'm currently "preoccupied" by Fallout 4, and hopefully I can learn something from it. However, I'm still working on the project, and would write the scripts in occasions; I will continue the engine work in mid 2016.
Taven Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Hmm, so how are things coming along with this? Are you still seeing to FO4? I've yet to get that myself because someone's set on getting me it for christmas...although it's on the XBX one so...no modding. ><
Vhaltyr Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Came here to check in on this project. Looks like you've come far. Apologies again for not being able to commit as Onmund's voice, but even now I'm too busy. And my offer of voice acting a side character is still on. Anyway, looking forward to seeing more updates on this, good luck!

A sample that includes something simple like "Hello, this is my voice. I'm recording this as a voice sample" would be nice. Please send me a khajiit sample, thanks. Happy holidays!
Anbeegod Posted January 1, 2016 Author Posted January 1, 2016 I've finished most of the main arc of Onmund, but a while ago I've come up with something even bigger and more epic, which is the second chapter of Onmund's story. I don't plan on making it before the initial release of the first version. Instead, I would release it along with the DLC patch, which would likely take place in late 2016. For now, I still lack the skill and experience in making something as big as that, so that will have to wait. One thing is certain, that the player must complete the personal quests of Onmund AND the Dark Brotherhood questline to proceed into the second chapter, because the second chapter requires the death of Titus Mede II. However, you don't need the second chapter to befriend/romance/marry/fuck/antagonize/kill (whatever) Onmund. Depending on the popularity of Onmund, another vanilla NPCs may or may not be made. For now, I focus on Onmund. It's unlikely that I will rewrite more than 20 vanilla characters. Not because I'm incapable or do not have time. I am capable and intrigued in writing epic and dark stories, and it's impossible, even for a fictional world, to have hundreds of equally epic and important characters in the same time, same place. 20 is the max acceptable number.
allfather123 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Hello, Pardon me if I'm being bold by saying this, specially because I'm not a modder myself. But from my point of view a lot of great mods get lost because they're too complex and ambitious to live through it's owner excitement until it gets finished. I just got here, but from what I saw this mod has lots of efforts on it already. But still it has some 25, 75 and 15% complete rates on each category. Sometimes, finishing all open brenches before opening to new ones is the best idea, cause if, for any reason, you want to stop working on it.. well.. at least a great piece of it is complete, and not lots of incomplete tiny bits with promisses of greatness that it should have been (and I'm thinking about the Forbidden Fruit mod, here from Lover'sLab: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/21120-forbidden-fruit-the-incest-mod). I'm also following this thread now. Wish best of luck and thank you with all my heart for sharing your knowledge and hard work with us, Anbeegod. Cheers
Anbeegod Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 Thank you for your suggestion. Sometimes, when I finish a certain portion of a part, I'd begin to feel tired of it, and it would only worsen the overall quality of the mod, should I force myself to continue the work that I'm not enthusiastic to work on then; at this point, moving to a new job would not only keep the work progressed, but also allow myself to cooldown and regain interest on those parts in time. However, I do occasionally face the problem of my inexperience. Due to my inability to solidify some of the features because of my lack in scripting and CK skills, I would choose to compromise something (story, dialog options etc) in return of the possible progress of the whole mod - if I couldn't gain assistance on this technical problems. For now, there're already about 2000 lines.
Contessa Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Is the demo available right now reflective of your current progress? I'm interested in this mod and will give it a go. Very refreshing to have a Male romance option being created. Thanks for doing this.

No. It's less than 1 % of the whole mod and only about 2% or 3% of the current progress; plus, some contents in the demo are changed in my current work.

Anbeegod Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 I've finished 70% of the player past conversation branches. In this conversation, the player can reveal their past to Onmund. A player could be a child of a cadre of the Dominion, a simple orphan, or even an imperial noble who had their family eliminated by Titus Mede II. It is rather flexible and diverse. There are some options that I didn't spend much time working on, usually simple options such as a farmer's child, an orphan adventurer. As I've said before, I'm engaged in serious and exciting stuff, so I believe you should not expect me to write something simple and warm - even the very romance with Onmund is filled with grim and miserable elements. Look at my avatar. Got the idea yet?

It looks like it's from some grisly movie I probably should know about, but don't. xD
Anbeegod Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 So I've been playing Fallout 4 during these days, and am beginning to play TTW, searching for mods that work with it. I'm kind of fond of the series' apocalyptic theme, which has inspired my ideas for the story. While I'm searching for mods, I discovered a mod named The Institute - the Institute that was foreshadowed in Fallout 3's quest, and appears in Fallout 4, was made into a story mod. The result is astonishing and magnificent, and has enlightened me. Now that sounds a bit odd. Let me explain. The Thalmor is heavily involved in the story of Onmund, and I've created the background of the current Aldmeri Dominion, including its leaders, line of command, situation, plans and something you definitely wouldn't have seen coming. Don't ask me why, the Dominion, its ideals and people, are simply essential in the story. Seeing that it will continue to be a major faction in TESVI, what I've written and am writing will very likely contradict with Beth's official TESVI, just like how the Institute mod might have contradicted with Fallout 4; but as long as the mod fits TESV and is liked by the players, I believe it is gonna be fine.
Anbeegod Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 Think it would be better to show part of my work for you; most of the dialogue options in this conversation are not shown though. O: The emperor is dead. He's finally... dead. I still find it hard to believe. There will undoubtedly be changes. We, Skyrim, and all of Tamriel, will have to prepare for the upcoming events. P: We've done a mighty deed, Onmund. We've changed Tamriel's fate forever. O: It's good of you to see the bright side of it. But... I've just come to realize, what a sequence of disastrous events we had triggered. Everyone breathing, walking, smiling on this land... They will turn into blood and bones. No one can escape from the upcoming crisis. We... we were so wrong. We've done it all wrong. P: How is it going to be bad to everyone? O: It's nothing solid yet, but the sorrows, miseries and deaths will prove everything. Prince Julius Mede, third son of Titus Mede II, Commander of Steels, Breaker of Blood, Conquerer, Widow Maker, Bane of Anarchists, Divines' Chosen... He will ascend the Ruby Throne, and the throne will be cracked into two parts when he sit on it. He can frighten even the High Archon Herself. It was him who killed thousands of Aldmeri soldiers during the Great War, it was him who ruined every single Argonian expansion plots. He slaughtered every single Altmer, Bosmer and Khajiit citizen in his cities during the war, armed or not... without a blink, without mercy. He used their heads, their... their torsos and limbs, to load catapults and fire to the Abecean Sea, just to inflict fear into the Aldmeri navy... And that is already merciful compared to what he does to Argonian soldiers and those discontent with the Medes' reign. The player can scold him for whining about these things, express fear or anger, or even say it's good to have a stronger emperor. If you have told Onmund that your family was annihilated by Titus Mede II to secure his power as an emperor, you can say that you don't care about the future of Tamriel but only that your beloved ones are avenged. There are more options within the conversation, but posting it will be huge spoilers to Onmund's story. I figured folks here in LL would be more interested in the dialogues below. Can't say I'm familiar with erotic literature, but I've tried my best. Same as the one above, I've cut some dialogue options in this post. P: You know, I think we should discuss our relationship. O: Well, everything's fine. Something particular you want to talk about? P: We've known each other for quite a bit of time now, but there are still "something" I don't know about you. O: ...Like... what? I was from a small village, my parents hated me, my sister cared for me, and... you know. I've told you already. P: Not that bit. O: Huh? O: Ah, well, I think... I've got what you mean now. You want to know "everything" abou... well, "on" me, right? You're rather straightforward about that. Are you sure it's a good time, good place, and... good for both of us? P: Yes. I want to see your everything... and you see mine. Let us be honest to each other, from this moment forward. O: I love your naughty bit. O: In the palace, in front of the guards and the Jarl? That's the craziest idea I've ever heard of. Let us find a better location first.
Anbeegod Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 If anyone hasn't known already, Onmund will NOT tolerate any act of adultery, because I don't. If you're already married, Onmund will not be romanceable and will be rendered impossible to be sexually interacted with via normal methods, which means you can only be friends. If you're romancing Onmund, and he witnesses you having consensual sex with another person other than a threesome that involves him, he will break up with you. However, if you're unmarried, and Onmund is not romanced, you can ask him to be your friend with benefit; that way, having sex with another person will not cause any feeling to him, and you can have sexual relationship with Onmund. You can still pursue a romantic relationship with him, but then the conditions will be the same as he is romanced. I despise the act of adultery. It is betrayal, just the same as treason. Before you say I'm a Christian Nazi, I'm in fact a progressive atheist who believes in gender equality. What is wrong is wrong. Murder is murder, thievery is thievery, rape is rape, and so is adultery. It has nothing to do with religion. There is nothing I could possibly do to stop you from using other Sexlab plugins or editing this mod's file, so that you can cheat on your in-game spouse or Onmund, but so long as I hold my value, I will not answer or help on any issue regarding this topic.
