I've just got a quick question here. Why? I'm not trying to harass you or dump on your idea or anything, this is just a request I don't quite get. To make this permanent, all you have to do is not take it off. So why would you need another mod just to tell you you can't?

Again, I'm just trying to understand here out of honest curiosity.

Holy shit what? How is it more immersive to use a button in an MCM to do it permanently than it is to just not take it off? I'm actually writing the code for your request right now, jesus.

Also, why was that so confrontational? I just asked an honest question.

Edit: The message this was replying to has since been deleted, this does not reflect my opinion of this request.

All I was saying was that I didn't get it. I didn't get why it's more real to you to use another mod than it is to just not undo it. I understand this is apparently important to you though, so I guess I'll just back away.

Really *-*?

Oh. It was only a question sorry. And Feliks, I know what do u mean but for my opinion is it a head thing.

Sorry, that one wasn't directed at you. It was towards the confrontational response to my original question.

The thing about making Slavetat's permanent is that because of the way it's implemented in their MCM it would be incredibly difficult to make only the ones you've set permanent. The easiest way would be to prevent anyone from removing or adding them at all. But then you can't add new ones.

Plus every method I can think of also locks it for editing any and all NPC's, with or without tats. The only way around that would be to make the lock toggleable, which defeats the purpose of the mod.

I hope i know what do u mean, but yes, the way to make it permanent is not really.. important for "me".

Only the one think to make it non-removeable

I don't understand what the effective difference is between asking someone to code a mod that hamstrings another mod's functionality and just not opening the MCM menu and removing the tattoo? It sounds to me like you're asking work out of someone to solve a problem that only requires self-control.

You can always run your chars through QAYL. That'll get you a nice set of permanent tattoos :)

Failing that, edit the .json file for the tat pack you want and add the "lock" parameter. This is how QAYL does it:

{
                "slot": 4,
                "domain": "QAYL",
                "locked": 1,
                "name": "I Been BAD",
                "area": "Body",
                "section": "QAYL",
                "texture": "qayl\\belly\\bad.dds",
                "event": "QAYL Event: I Been BAD"
        },

Just add the "locked":1, line to the tat you want to be permanent and they'll be locked in place.

The files are in textures/actors/Character/Slavetats/pack_name.json, You can edit the files with notepad, so it's pretty much a cut and paste job.

it's fine!! calm down. :) just try putting more thought on it. maybe viewing it from an different perspective than of a "game" could help clear your head and give you the correct idea why this is that important to some people.
Except it is a game. Get over it.

roleplaying and immersion. are you that unfamiliar with the two?? <_< whatever. wasn't my idea to start with.

You wanna talk roleplaying? How about the fact that your character doesn't know there's a menu where you get to add and remove tattoos from her body? The option that ruins your immersion is an option a good roleplayer wouldn't even consider using.

Also, we're not roleplaying here on the forum, and the reality is, Skyrim is a game, and ultimately anything that happens within this game (barring bugs and glitches) happens because you want it to happen. Your character got defeated and raped? You're The one who installed a combat rape mod and set up the game difficulty (whether through menu or through appropriate mods) in such a way that defeat can happen to your character. Your character is starved and frozen? You're the one who installed survival mods in the first place. I think you get the point.

Now, riddle me this: if a removable tattoo - again, removable through an out of character menu - is such a breach of immersion for you, how do you deal with all the other mod functions that you can turn on and off on the fly? Pretty much every "immersive" mod I've seen can be turned off or dialed down by a quick visit to the mcm, how are you coping with that? I'm gonna guess that you do so by not changing options during game in a way that would break immersion, so why not do the same with Slavetats?

I have no problem setting up my mods the way I want them to work for a particular character and not touching them again, so which of us is a better roleplayer?

If you think of SlaveTats as an extension of Devious Devices and its extensions, I can kinda see the appeal of a way to prevent you from taking the easy way out by removing them. Some of them have functions like not letting you change the MCM settings while you're wearing a device, that's taking configuration options away from the player.

sigh maybe i don't want the easy way out? if i wanted to remove an tattoo then i would probably need to visit somebody in the game world to remove it. instead of using a stupid mcm menu.

i think you don't get this very well. Gopher for example does. and you don't. the things we do have to have some consequence. if we can do everything for us at any time they lose impact. all becomes pointless and one should question why we are roleplaying in the first place.

also on this subject of "perma" if you still fail to notice i obviously did not mean forever!! just an more immersive feeling. an ingame alternative way of making changes.

the creator of this topic is the one who suggested perma. not me. i just liked the idea of more realistic tats. :-/

There's already a mod to remove your tats in character, it's aptly named Remove Your Tats.

If that's what you want, why did you attack Feliks when he pointed out that the solution to having unremovable tats is not to remove them? Or are you shifting goalposts?

attacked? please don't ever use that with my name. i don't attack anyone ever. he just left a very one sided opinion on something that he didn't understand that well. so i stepped in to correct it. broaden the perspective.

from the start i just supported the idea of tougher to remove tats. and found that this topic was close to it. that is really everything.

i am sorry for leaving a bad impression. i only meant well and to be supportive towards the topic creator. :(

tats are not even in my interests atm!

I'm going to assume you're being sincere, so I'll be equally straight with you: your posts in this topic come off as aggressive, condescending and holier-than-thou. If that's truly not your intent, then you need to seriously work on your written expression, because the tone is completely off.

This includes this post as well. "I stepped in to correct it. Broaden the perspective." Yeah, if that's how you see things, then you're the one who needs to broaden her perspective, because "correcting" people who have different opinions from you is very narrow-minded. Not to mention, offensive and obnoxious.
