srayesmanll Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Apparently, there is an issue with how SKSE saves are overwritten. For me overwriteing a quicksave is freezing the game for at least 30 seconds. Disabling XPMSE plugin reduced this time to like 5s, due to greatly reduced SKSE save file size. Some of the race menu sliders are gone (SoS for example), but now I can at least use quick save once in a while (still had to disable autosaves though). Thank you for the suggestion. Another thing which I found to be helpful is "Save Hot Key ArchMod" (look it up on Nexus). It basically allows you to set a hot key for regular save. It creates a new save file each time, so there is no overwriting involved. Needless to say, those saves are instant even with XPMSE enabled. Thanks for the "Save Hot Key ArchMod". I had looked for one a long while back (I mean like 2+ yrs back), but only could find the script dragon version. I use the one for FONV and it was great not having to go into the menu constantly to do a full save. Never used the QS so I haven't seen the huge slowdowns some have seen, but have seen the .skse file growth. Again, thanks for the reminder on that mod (I added the link to it).
vram1974 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Interesting. I didn't get quite the drop in file size by killing the esp (about 200kb). I was hoping it would be the reason behind something I've been trying to solve for months: my world map takes 10 seconds to open. But alas, it didn't solve a thing. Nevertheless, it doesn't like like disabling XPMSE.esp hurts anything so I'll leave it as is.
