Sizer Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Every time I get put up on a cross or stuck in a pillory I can't help but think "Oh, here we go again," 'cos the animations seem to be lasting for a long damn time. I recall heading downstairs, making myself a sandwich once and getting half way through eating it before one animation ended... ...And then the legionnaire put me up on the cross again and I wasn't hungry D:< Sure, the animations are very nicely made and very interesting but jeeez, is there some way of shortening them to perhaps, the same duration as rape?
Guest Loogie Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I made the Legionary ones last two minutes because that is how long an hour is ingame.
zippy57 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Good thing you didn't actually link it to in-game time. (I run a 1:1 timescale.)
Sizer Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 I made the Legionary ones last two minutes because that is how long an hour is ingame. Crikey. Wanna consider chopping that down? Realism in suffering is nice and all' date=' but that eats away at the novelty of playing Legion tryouts for me. I actively avoid it because I know I will inevitably stumble on those annoying waits, get very bored before it's over and load a different save. The first 20-30 seconds are fine, but I want you to count to 120 and see how long it takes you to stay interested in a 6 second long loop Good thing you didn't actually link it to in-game time. (I run a 1:1 timescale.) Mother of god.
ChancellorKremlin Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Personally I don't think it's a problem, although I would reduce it to thirty minutes. I like it because it really makes me think twice about giving lip to the Legion, and I translate boredom/turn off IRL to pain/chastisement in game, so it's a nice system.
sen4mi Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I am glad to hear that I am not the only person that has boredom issues here. I have been thinking that some of this was because there's no interactivity in the sex scenes. In a sense, the game ends when the scenes start and does not resume until they end. But fixing that would be difficult.
Guest Loogie Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Crikey. Wanna consider chopping that down? No. I actively avoid it because I know I will inevitably stumble on those annoying waits' date=' get very bored before it's over and load a different save.[/quote'] You only get put on a cross if you mouth off to Legion. It's easily avoidable. The first 20-30 seconds are fine, but I want you to count to 120 and see how long it takes you to stay interested in a 6 second long loop It's a punishment. The game would be a lot less interesting if every choice worked out for you perfectly.
Sizer Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Taking away the player's control of the game for an extended period of time is not great as a punishment mechanic. But whatever, guess I'm just sticking to avoiding it.
ChancellorKremlin Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 lol seems to work fine as a punishment for me, if you're actively avoiding it because it's making you uncomfortable, isn't that what punishments are meant to do, act as a deterrent? lol
zippy57 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 It needs to be a punishment for the character, but not for the player. Relatively long period of times in which the player has no control and nothing is happening is punishment for the player.
Guest Loogie Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I don't think two minutes is an entirely unreasonable length of time. If a lot of people disagree with that, I'll change it.
