Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Don't launch with OBSE, launch with Oblivion.exe (which should be patched to be 4gb)
gvman3670 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 I didn't use the OBSE launcher because it prompts me to launch with Steam. LOL But OBSE is in there and it's running when I launch with the regular Oblivion launcher. How do I tell whether or not MO's virtual data folder is actually being used anyway? And I haven't added the 4gb patch yet either, just a couple unofficial patches.
Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Just be patient. I'm getting ready to post the first 3 phases. It should answer any of your questions (clean install, Extenders and tools, and Fixes & Required mods)
Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 GV it's up and in the works. I finished phases 1-3 between last night and this morning. I will probably have phases 4 and 5 up today (Morroblivion, and female bodies), the longest and hardest part for me is HD Textures. I have REALLY Crappy internet, and have to re-download them all, then optimize them, too.
gvman3670 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 As far as body textures go, what is available for the DMRA body?
RitualClarity Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 OH.. nice a tutorial for Oblivion with MO..
Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 OH.. nice a tutorial for Oblivion with MO.. You knew it was coming ... I'll have to relocate them. The links will all be in my guide, as always
gvman3670 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 I'm about to go kill something. LOL Showracemenu makes me crash then when I try to restart the game Steam gives me a P:0000065432 error. Then the only way the game will restart is after restarting the computer. It's highly frustrating to say the least. I need to find a large bear to choke out.
Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Have you completed the guide up through Phase 4?
gvman3670 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Yup. Now no matter what I do I can't launch through MO without that error. I tried the fixes I found online and none of those work at all (everything besides deleting the script extender and replacing it). I can start it in straight vanilla form, though. Edit: I just tried deleting and reinstalling OBSE and it's still a no go.
Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Yeah I'm having some issues, too. It's looking like this guide is going to be trashed, and re-written to run with Wrye Bash. It seems that there are multiple issues with the Steam Version of Oblivion that are not going to get fixed any time soon.

Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I'm gonna hit up DoubleYou on STEP and see if he can help me figure it out. He claims his is working fine through STEAM, so we'll see what he's doing differently.
Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Scratch the suit and change it for a Speedo and you got a deal <3
RitualClarity Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 The things I go through to help .. bet you thought I couldn't come up with one huh?
Anatriax Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 LMAOI knew if anyone could it would be you <3 http://forum.step-project.com/topic/8011-double-launcher-when-running-through-mo/See if any of this helps GVMan
RitualClarity Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted 02 August 2015 - 05:39 PM Try this: Install Oblivion to a location where you have full User Account Control of it. Launch Oblivion to create INIs and make sure Oblivion does not CTD for whatever reason. Install OBSE and launch it to make sure OBSE works Install Mod Organizer (MO) (preferably to the Oblivion directory) Launch MO MO will present a window asking you to select the game you wish to manage. Select Oblivion, which should be automatically recognized. If it is not, you may use the browse function to find your game folder and select it. First time users will receive a message to show the tutorial. It is highly recommended to do so. Click the wrench button in the toolbar, and select the Nexus tab. Check automatically log in box and insert your Nexus username and password. Also click the Associate with "Download with Manager" links button. Go to the Workarounds tab and make sure Steam App ID says 22330. Change Load Mechanism to Script Extender. Uncheck Force-enable game files and click OK to exit settings. Turn on Archive Invalidation by clicking the profile button in the toolbar and check Automatic Archive Invalidation. Repeat this for all new profiles you create. Go to the Archives tab in the right pane and make sure that: Have MO manage archives is checked All BSAs are checked Drag and drop the Archive Invalidation BSA in the top group to the absolute top of that list. Otherwise AI will not work. If it doesn't work, it may be that the Steam version will not work at all. I don't have the Steam version (I'm a retail disc guy whenever possible), but everyone with the Steam version seems to be having trouble lately. This is where I had problems like this guy / gal That seemed to work as far as getting my mods to load into the game but now I seem to be having problems with OBSE loading. I've installed it as directed in the readme.txt but it's not loading. It seems that a lot of people have an issue with this as well. Hmph, very frustrating steam! Are there any workarounds to solve this problem. Thank for responding and getting the double launcher problem solved. That is a huge relief, now if only OBSE would launch.
Anatriax Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Yeah. I'm sending DoubleYou a message right now, telling him what we've found, and what I've tried to fix the issue, and see if he has any other suggestions.
Anatriax Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 GV I hate to say it, bud... but we might be having to use WB for my guide, and not MO. I LOVE MO so much. It's such a wonderful tool and easy to use. Thankfully, WB is pretty easy, too.
RitualClarity Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 At least WB is a close alternate to MO. Hey. I got in a speedo for nothing.. .. Sad alien.
Anatriax Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 You got into a speedo for my viewing pleasure. If making me happy is nothing, well then ...
RitualClarity Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 You tricked me evil woman.. I thought it was for this tutorial.
Anatriax Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 mwahahahahaha On a serious note. I've tried everything I can think of, even using an older version of OBSE, and an alternate loader. Nothing. Time to switch to Wrye Bash and start writing the guide completely over. le sigh
Anatriax Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Okay!!! I've got it loading SOME mods now (using the fix above) and OBSE Test Plugin is registering that it's started. So now to figure out what the fuck else is going on.EDIT 1: You have to manually install all OBSE Plugins. You CANNOT let them go through MO, or it won't recognize them. Everything else is OK so far (experiencing an issue where it's not registering a Morroblivion BSA, fix to come shortly)
