Arcturus7777 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Ok, I found this Mass effect Jack mod for FNV on Deviantart. http://nightfable.deviantart.com/art/Mass-Effect-Jack-Fallout-New-Vegas-Mod-DL-540039225 The mod creates two races custom jack and ME3 Jack. The problem is that the ME3 jack crashes on selection in a new game Reading the instructions explains this is a know issue, but I do not know enough to understand what I am supposed to do to fix the problem. can anyone help?
Kargrin Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 If im not mistaken, the mod comes with two "jack" races, one crashes, the other doesnt. Did you get one race on the selector?
myuhinny Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Straight from the readme it shows you what you need to do. If you are using FOMM (fallout mod manager) it has a built in BSA extractor. Q: I have placed both esp and bsa files in the data folder. In-game, I can choose the custom Jack but for some reason whenever I try to choose the ME3 version the whole thing crashes everytime. A: It's a known issue with the mod, easily fixable though. You need to go into the BSA and extract the custom hair mesh, that's the only file you need to pull out, place it into your data file following the file structure laid out by Shep. (I'd recommend pulling out 2 seperate files at once, the extractor will set up the file structure for you then.)
Guest endgameaddiction Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I would just extract the whole thing and repack it in a new archive and install it with FOMM as loose files. Not that it matters in this case, but loose files do take priority over BSA files.

I read that, and i extracted a hair NIFs, there is no nif called custom hair. also it place it in the data directory in the structure laid out be shep.(what the heck is that) then is says pull out 2 separate files, when it said just pull put one file earlier in the same sentence. As I said, I never have even opened a bsa before. I downloaded a BSA browser. I did extract a hair nif with it. Then dropped the mesh folder it created into my data directory, but the mod still crashes.
myuhinny Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Shep is probably the author or person that put the files and folders the way that they are shown in the bsa. If you extract more then 1 file from a BSA it will extract the folder paths as well so all you have to do is drop the folder into your game folder or at least that is how it is when using FOMM's built in BSA extractor to extract the files. Have you tried extracting all the content from the BSA with the extract all and then add it to you game folder and see if that works?
Arcturus7777 Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 I extracted the entire bsa to the desktop. Uninstalled and deleted the mod with the bsa with FOMM. Then I unpacked the mod. deleted the bsa in the unpacked mod folder, and added the textures and meshes that were extracted. Then zipped the folder back up with the bsa gone and the meshes and textures in the Folder. I then installed the repackaged mod with FOMM Everything works fine, except one hand is pink. I installed the omnitool mod listed in the instructions, but the left hand is still pink.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Pink hands indicates missing hand textures. Check to see if it's in there. If not, check in the BSA. If it's not in either, you'll have to find some hand textures to go with it.
