yian Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 A long, long time ago, (year 2009) before I was working full time, before Skyrim came out, before Dragon Age Inquisition or The Witcher 3, I was a big time Oblivion player. I was such a fan that I even thought about making my own mod. And I did. I made a milk mod. Then my computer's hard drive failed and I lost everything. Everything, except some of the files that I back up regularly. This does not include my Oblivion mod files. I thought everything was lost, so I started a new life in Skyrim. It turned out that a little bit of the past remained in the form of screenshots. I took some screenshots of my mod, and the image folder was backed up. So, even though I wasn't able to share the mod itself, I would like you to take a look at what I did a long time ago. My very own milk mod. Please enjoy. (All files were in 1024x768 because I had an old monitor when Oblivion came out.)
sapho888 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 those screenshots look awesome. its too bad the mod was lost
yian Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 It has been my long time dream to recreate this mod in Skyrim. But I no longer have access to the assets because they were from Oblivion's BSA. My Oblivion DVDs, along with my Morrowind GOTY CDs, are currently in a basement of a house in United States, but I am not.
Nickolos1818 Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Whoa, thats a lot of milk! Seems you got some good ideas, maybe talk to the author of Milk Mod Economy and try to submit ideas, or ask for tips on doing your own version of this for skyrim?
Farmthat Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Whoa. That is really, really cool. That has an awesome, dark atmosphere. Was the mod interactive at all? like the player got installed in that setup? I hope you pick up modding again in the future.
yian Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 @farmthis: It is interactive only to a limited capacity. Basically, the player does not get to become a milk slave - instead I played it more like you own the farm and you are the master. Each and every slave in the farm was just a mesh file. When I tried to do it with custom NPCs, my computer could not handle it and the frame rate dropped too much to be playable. Everything else is from the vanilla asset except the white milk texture, which I made myself. When you walk up to one of the slaves, you can initialize a simple dialogue box: "Do you want to milk your slave? Yes. No." When press Yes, you get one bottle of milk in your inventory. That was all. The milk restores 2 points of health.
