lkl Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I'm just going to say that is is my first request. Anyone willing to take upon the request of moving the sword from the back to the default hip? Seriously, I would have searched for a different skeleton, except there is none. XPMS dagger placement just sucks with Chesko's Quiver, Ning's skeleton is set to hidden and the rest just doesn't seem to float my boat. So, I would like the 1H sword position move back to the default hip.B This is the one and perfect skeleton to me and I'd just like to have the sword, return to the hip and not the back. Thanks in advance. Edit: Oh shit, wrong section. Move this (if possible) to the "Skyrim Non Adult Mods" if possible. skeleton_female.rar
Lexi SubZero Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Why not use the RaceMenu sliders to reposition any weapon to your liking..?
lkl Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Why not use the RaceMenu sliders to reposition any weapon to your liking..? I don't have that feature on my racemenu and I don't want to install other skeleton mods like XPMSE as I have had enough issues of trying to make things stop crashing. Also...it seems there are complications when using the racemenu way.
Swissenergy Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Install v2.63. Some users, like myself, have an issue with 2.70+ causing crashes when loading saves, cell changing, or even dying in game. After I installed 2.63, game no longer crashed for me.

Swissenergy Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Just making sure I understand what asking, are you wanting to revert back to the vanilla Skyrim weapon animations? I'm currently using 2.63 and have the sword placed on the hip, and dagger on the thigh(vanilla placement), and animations match those placements.

I'm currently using 2.63 and have the sword placed on the hip, and dagger on the thigh(vanilla placement), and animations match those placements. Not really. The quiver is like a Chesko placement and the Dagger is directly attached to it, that placement I am totally fine with. Just that the 1H sword placement is on the back. I tolerated it for over 8 months and well...I just had enough of it. I kind of wanted it to go back to the hip (default placement for 1H weapons). Yeah...I guess I am vague about my descriptions to my the request. Going to fix that now.
Swissenergy Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Are you running any other mods that could change the animations for weapon placement like Dual Sheath Redux(DSR)?
lkl Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Are you running any other mods that could change the animations for weapon placement like Dual Sheath Redux(DSR)? Yeah. Sadly, DSR isn't the case. As I manage to test various "skeletonfemale" for the hip position and they all worked, except I dislike their quiver and dagger placement.
Swissenergy Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 For me, DSR was causing the sword on back since that was the option I had originally selected when installing the mod. I've since removed DSR from my load order and now have the sword at the hip, and the animation to match it. Mods I'm using that have any animation/weapon placement changes: Immersive Animations, XPMSE 2.63, RaceMenu 3.2, FNIS 5.4.1 I'm not sure what you're currently using since you said you've been changing skeletons.

After I installed 2.63, game no longer crashed for me. I hod those issues too, but the very latest updates to racemenu, xpms-extended skeleton and finis have totaly reversed those issues. My skyrim is more stable than when non modded. I have over 200 active mods, dead stable. I was really getting frustrated also and had considered removing all mods and reinstalling but now there's no need.

From what I know, I use RaceMenu 3.2, FNIS 5.4.1., Combination of a lot of other animations (works well), XPMS 1.9something(skeleton.hkx and skeleton.nif though) and Realistic Ragdoll.

I can back that up, and the XPMSE Skele has options to put all the weapons where ever you want and even do the same for NPCs or leave them vanilla. As long as you follow Groovtama's install instructions, it's solid

During the install of the skeleton, did you select the option of having swords on the back? Also with FNIS, you don't have the "alternate amis for XPMSE" box selected do you? I believe that requires at least v2.6, not exactly sure though.

I chose the hip, the dagger placement still sucks for the hip. As for the FNIS, I did have it selected. Still doesn't work (meaning the menu plugin).

As long as you follow Groovtama's install instructions, it's solid I tried 2.70 and 2.72, game crashed with either of those version installed. I haven't tried 2.73+ so it could be that newer version work just fine for me. Went through a near identical installation process with 2.63, selected the same options as I had with other versions, game runs just fine. I know I'm not the only one with the issue because others have said reverting to 2.63 from 2.70+ has stabilized their game. From what I understand, which isn't much, it's not happening to everyone, and for me the crashes weren't always consistent. The same cell would sometimes crash, sometimes not when I loaded a save. However, crash was a guarantee when dying in game which defeated the purpose of having increased combat difficulty mods.

So you selected "sword on hip" option during skeleton installation, yet the sword is still appearing on the characters back? Have you tried reinstalling the skeleton last? Also, just wanted to confirm that you don't have the weapon placement option in RaceMenu, correct?

Either you misunderstand or I am just very bad descriptions. I guess thats what I get for staying up all night trying to find the perfect "skeleton_female". Anyway, chose the "default (sword on hip)" and it did what it did. As I said before, I don't like how the dagger is placed with Cheko's Quiver. It just clips straight though. And yeah, i don't have the weapon placement and I'm pretty sure I installed Groove last via NMM.
Shadowscale Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Why not get http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10753/?to remove quivers when you don't have a bow or crossbow on? Seems its the cause of your issues. So in theory this should be the fix you're seeking.

I like to leave the quiver out with the bow as I've grown to like carrying it around in full view with Equipping Overhaul.
Swissenergy Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I'm not sure other than using the weapon placement/positioner with Racemenu, or downloading an alternate placement for the daggers to fix the clipping issue. Just from experience, I can only recommend the Racemenu sliders since they let you move weapons in all directions (left, right, up, down, front, back). You could move the dagger to a point where it doesn't clip with the quiver anymore, however it may look odd if you have to move it very far. You could try daggers on the lower leg option, or the default vanilla thigh placement. Not sure what else to tell you, sorry for being so inept.
Groovtama Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 You people understand that the crashes came from NiOverrides side and not from XPMSE side and have been fixed with newest NiOverride and RaceMenu 3.2.2, if you are running old buggy versions of some mod don't blame it on my part, thank you all. When you apply RM 3.2.2 even on the older 2.7 versions it all starts to work fine. And if you don't read what you install in the animations part not the mods problem, they have descriptions for a reason. BTW What you posted in the first post is an old XPMS 1.92 skeleton "13 Back Hip Daggers Back 1H Swords LHB Quiver" how about installing "12 Back Hip Daggers LeftHandBolt" and maybe updating to 1.94...

Thank you for making this clear, I didn't know that was the reason behind the problem. I hadn't checked the RM or XPMSE description page in last month(which I should have), and now I see the RM 3.2.2 requirement there for current version, my mistake. Sigh, well I'm going back to my seat among the group of, "idiot users who can't read and follow instructions" ...again...

The XPMSE seems to work fine without any crashes to the latest version, just that the racemenu plugin didn't show the features. Not exactly sure why it doesn't work. Oh wow...I must have gotten the Skeleton wrong and forgot. Thanks a lot for that, and yeah. Kinda updated to 1.94 during this whole thing.
