x5z8 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 So recently I reinstalled skyrim so that I could pick up from my main character after I uninstalled and scrapped my old skyrim out of rage. I load up most of the mods I used to have and a few new ones, and of course I didn't load all the mods I used to have because I didn't keep a mod list. So I manage to load my most recent save, successfully, yay. I play for a little bit and make a new file to save my progress. I come back to it later, load it up, and it's corrupt. This happens every time I create a new save from an old save, but all of my old saves work just fine. This is my load order Skyrim.esm=1Update.esm=1Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp=1Dawnguard.esm=1HearthFires.esm=1Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp=1Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp=1Dragonborn.esm=1Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp=1Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esm=1SexLab.esm=1PubicMeshColorRE.esm=1SGHairPackBase.esm=1SexLabAroused.esm=1SexLab Attraction.esm=1ZaZAnimationPack.esm=1HighResTexturePack01.esp=0HighResTexturePack02.esp=0HighResTexturePack03.esp=0LoversVictim.esp=1Character Creation Overhaul.esp=1EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp=112FemaleBrows.esp=1Hair Physics Project.esp=1Eyes of Aber.esp=1TheChoiceIsYours_Dragonborn.esp=1Weapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.esp=1doahair.esp=1AMatterOfTime.esp=1numenume femalebrows MARO.esp=1Cherry's Eyes.esp=1Daedric Dawnbreaker.esp=1BetterQuestObjectives-Hearthfire.esp=1CharacterMakingExtender.esp=1HDTTESTEarring.esp=1JKs Cities and Towns V1.0.esp=1BetterQuestObjectives.esp=1CCO - Diverse Races And Genders.esp=1AzarHairPonyTail 03 - Havok.esp=1CCO - Dynamic Skill Progression.esp=1CCO - Oblivion Carry Weights.esp=1secretofspellbreaker.esp=1GoldenVendors.esp=1KJ Tattoos 4K.esp=1MBWS DLC Followers Serana.esp=1ESFCompanions.esp=1BetterQuestObjectives-Dawnguard.esp=1JKs Windhelm.esp=1numenume Hair.esp=1Purity.esp=1JKs Solitude.esp=1Remodeled Armor - Dawnguard.esp=1UFO - Dragonborn AddOn.esp=1Remodeled Armor - Dragonborn.esp=1Remodeled Armor - Underwear.esp=1Remodeled Armor.esp=1Schwertleite Set.esp=1SGHairPackAIO.esp=1TheChoiceIsYours.esp=1JKs Whiterun.esp=1JKs Markarth.esp=1BetterQuestObjectives-TheChoiceIsYoursPatch.esp=1SkyUI.esp=1LoversComfort.esp=1SSv2.esp=1TimingIsEverything.esp=1BetterQuestObjectives-TimingIsEverythingPatch.esp=1UFO - Dawnguard AddOn.esp=1UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.esp=1UFO - Heartfire AddOn.esp=1CCO - Permanent Birthsigns.esp=1Bijin Warmaidens.esp=1SexLabDefeat.esp=1ESFAela.esp=1PerkusMaximus_Master.esp=1AlternativeCraftingSystem.esp=1PerkusMaximus_Warrior.esp=1SexLabDangerousNights.esp=1SexLab_Hormones.esp=1TheChoiceIsYours_Dawnguard.esp=1ESO Altmer Armor by NewrMind43.esp=1TheEyesOfBeauty.esp=1Wintermyst - Enchantments of Skyrim.esp=1PerkusMaximus_Thief.esp=1PerMa Expansion 1 - Wintermyst.esp=1PerkusMaximus_Mage.esp=1Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp=1BetterQuestObjectives-AlternateStartPatch.esp=1FNISSexyMove.esp=1
myuhinny Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Could be being caused by using a old save that you are trying to use without first getting the mods that were active when that save was made. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1840/? Download wrye bash it has a save tab that will list every .esm/esp that you had active when that save was made and also what the load order those .esm/.esp's were in. Trying to run a old save is a waste of time without first getting the mods that you had because any mod that had scripts those scripts are now floating around in that save file even when they are not active/not installed and trying to use those saves will just cause more problems unless you install of those missing mods. You might be able to use a save cleaner to try to clean the save. But generally if you want to only use the mods that you have installed right now it is always better to start a new game.

I did try a save cleaner, but it got stuck on the removing vanilla REFR. Getting Wyre Bash would be a start though, but I usually use NMM. Is there any way to convert to Wyre Bash without reinstalling my mods?
myuhinny Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Use whatever mod manager you are using and just run wrye bash and start looking at the save and getting the mods that you use to have and install them with NMM. Then close NMM and restart wrye bash and just jump from save tab to load order and adjust the .esm/.esp's to match the save files load order.
Aleanne Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 What do you mean by corrupt ? Does it crashes, or do you have this message : The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded ? If it's a crash, try to save in qasmoke before loading the real save : load working save, open console, enter "coc qasmoke", wait for the cell to load then save, then always load the qasmoke save before loading the real save. If it's the message... Then what myuhinny said is probably the best approach.
