LucidSoul Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I have been trying to get Cover Women working for Fair Skin complexion, but I always get the a neck seem. Is there any way to get these to mods to work together?
LucidSoul Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 I guess no one know how to get these 2 mods to work together.
nutluck Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Never tried it, isn't cover woman a texture mod though for skin?
Trollirious Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 i see FSC as a complete overhaul for female so using other skins beside Adorable Face will cause that because there's no fix for it
Gameplayer Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 The problem is that Fair Skin is a very High Resolution texture like 4K as it is you might need to run it through Ordinator or another texture reducer just to avoid Black Body bug depends on how much VCard Mem and a host of other tweaks to the game you may or may not have applied. More to the point Fair Skin Maxed out HD CoverWomen about 1K regular HD. These will never look right together why? Cause even if you reduced Fairskin down to like 1K >,< (look so bad if you hack it down to this) Well then even with TexBlend well just no telling what it'd look like honestly. Fair Skin is pretty much one of the best skins going for UNP, I had to reduce its size though. ----------------------------- The problem is that there are a whole bunch of skins out there for UNP, a lot of them have been downsampled into complete ass. If you look carefully many don't have a vagina, anus, or clean nipples. Many will have striping artifacts across the body. Its honestly not worth the time to mix and match face to body textures.
Guest Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 My advice for what it's worth - stick to a face/body diffuse and normal package from the same 'family'. So for example, SG has a few subsets out there and they all get along quite well if you mix the normal and diffuse maps between them. Fair Skin and Coverwomen have little common, I'd say they're odds on not to mix well. Fair Skin's sweat maps work very well with most things I find, but not it's tints or msn files.
NNS10 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 If you mix and match body and head textures, you'll often get neck seams when the colors differ between the head and body--the seam is that mismatch between the textures. The patterns on the skin probably won't line up either, but the color is generally more noticeable. Even SG Female Textures has neck seams at the back of the neck (often covered by hair) as the color there is very different.

I checked that. It smooths out the textures so I didn't like that. Isn't there a tool out there that can do a true blend? Look at the textures and just blend between the seams of the textures? If I knew how the seams connected on the textures, I could do it manually in a photo editor...
LucidSoul Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Thanks for the help everyone. I think that I am going to stick with the textures that came with the fair skin body for now. The face and makeup aren't that bad, it's just not what I wanted.
gvman3670 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Ditch cover woman altogether. Not at all needed if you're using FSC. And it will probably always give a neck seam. ECE or Race Menu give a lot of adjustment to the makeup. Just play with the sliders until you get what you want.

You can alter the face a lot with ECE or RM face morph options if it is the shape of the face you don't care for.

No pores, no definition, no bone structure.

I'm talking about knowing where the seams of the two textures line up. I want to do a real blend between the head and body textures. The current "texture blends" just involve throwing premade "transition" layers over the head and body textures. Because it introduces a third texture, it doesn't always look natural, especially if your textures are detailed. It may end up looking seamless, but the transition area often looks weird since the transition layer isn't tailored for the specific body/head texture.
guk Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Is it possible to mix them? Yes. Has anyone done it? Probably not. As the others have already said, there's no real point in trying to blend them. Fair Skin Complexion is very tender from head to toe, while Coverwomen is probably made for vanilla textures. And the quality difference is extreme, FSC even has 4K normalmaps with a perfect match for its diffuse maps. There's nothing even remotely comparable, at least not in a final release version (Real Girls and Mature V2 are still alpha/beta). The "makeup" in FSC is more like subtle skin toning, instead of rouge and eyeliner it looks more like blushing and pigmentation. Gotta admit that many NPC overhauls don't look nearly as good as the FSC characters i made myself, because the overhauls are usually designed around the details in other textures like SG or Mature Skin. What you can do for your own characters are mods like Empyrean Warpaints and Stoja's Warpaints, which have RaceMenu overlays for hi-detail makeup including lipstick and mascara. Or simply use some of the makeup options from other mods, either the ones that come with mods like SG textures or the Hi-Res Makeup for SKSE. This might be a bit of trial & error because lip textures often don't match between different mods. PS.: example of Stoja's Warpaints This is with a very bloom-heavy ENB and Facelight, so the actual skin details in the center of the face are blurred out. But you get the idea of the makeup, i guess.
