SpikyCookie Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 SO, I'm aware this section is pretty much...Dead and I'm PRETTY damn late to the H-game party, but I recently got this game and I was enjoying it a good bit (It's a relatively fun little RPG, hentai or not), until I ran face first into a titanium wall, and would appreciate it if some lost soul that ended up in this section could help me out a tiny bit. I just have two simple questions: -Was this game ever finished? I have the 141231 version and it's missing a lot of content the further you get in the game, and I'm getting my doubts if you can even finish the game in the first place. -Is there a full translation anywhere? This one I have is missing some relatively big sections and it makes progression even tougher when the game already doesn't give you many ideas on what to do after you get to the capital. I'm really hoping someone can answer...The game looked promising but I'm afraid it might just be incomplete.
afa Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Last I remember the game was never finished, a few people took up the mantle one after another but none claim to have finish it. There was sort of a partially translated version (at least a year ago) no idea if any translation continue after the later versions. Search for the wiki it was the most comprehensive guide at the time. No idea how much has changed tho.
ds64 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 ^it's true.I've been following that game since 2011, with roguetranslations stopped working on VH translation at late 2011.It still in development I think, last time I played it (July 2014), the only thing that I recognized is some new event, and whole new onsen town texture, and maybe major remake on second town. But I honestly think this game will never finished, going with the way they develop it now... added new feature,new event for that loli/serena, but not with the development of main story... I've messed around in debug mode and there was a credits scene, so...Maybe? ...Anyway, thanks for the replies. Having to just drop the game in the middle because it's unfinished is gonna freaking haunt me forever. Edit: Where does the story progression *end* anyway? I got to the point with the fighting tournament where it doesn't let you progress any further than the 3rd rank; I'm assuming that's as far as you can get...? Might as well play whatever there's to play if the game is pretty much hopeless at this point.

Done all of the adventurers guild stuff for example? have you explored around the world, followed the roads wherever? Also theres a book that you can use at the eisen area that can take you to somewhat unfinished areas, tried that yet?.
Liuli Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 There's a newer version of VH on Hongfire from this month (150405) so your version is outdated by a little bit. If you play as Nanako I think the game is about 95% translated, I didn't have issues with that when I played the game. The main story arc mostly revolves around the guild quests which lead from one into the other, but once all the plot is done there's no ~the end~ screen. What I did and recommend doing is play through all of the available story from guild quests and once you're done with them all try and get the 'goblin bride' ending (I'm not sure if you need to make a debug tweak to get it still or if they fixed it yet). Yes the game was never fully finished but it still has a ton more content than most of the rpgmaker games, easily more than nearly perfect ones like Virgin Island (which by the way if you're looking for a similar game that's more polished and finished is worth a look).

Btw, sometimes your old save is not compatible with newer version, it's gonna fucked up your game. It did happen to me. (Maybe because some changes in the script) Last time I played it, it's end in arena, and meet a princess/rich lady (if I'm remember it correctly).You can actually get the goblin ending before you get to second town, it's just a little bit hard defeating that goblin with low level.Too bad, I really liked this game, those menstruation circle, pregnancy, lactation effect, etc...
Xpyke Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 It's like since forever that I heard about that game, it's still one of my favorites, but there are other cities, the haunted one for example with the dinossaur and zombies, and one to the left of the capital that I couldn't get a translation to work with, but if you use the chitrans you can play everything at least, but don't know how far since I stopped playing a long time ago, you should be luckier trying to ask on hongfire about it, but post the answer for us as well Edit* Found out this post with translations and information, might be worth http://www.vn-meido.com/k1/index.php?topic=1290.0 Edit2* The link was for Violated "Hero", my bad, but there are some games there as well, it's still worth to try.

Yes you can get the goblin ending very early on, but what I'm recommending to the OP is to first finish all the guild quests in the game and then go after the goblin bride ending if he's looking for closure. Plus that ending involves a couple of NPCs that you're interacting with quite a bit during the guild quests.
SpikyCookie Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 Well, OK, the titanium wall I hit is actually Eisen and the Wyvern quest, because none of Eisen is translated and I have absolutely no idea if I'm on the right track to the Wyvern or not. I went into what I believe is the Eisen guild and some guy said...Stuff as I was leaving, and then I somehow found his house where he said more stuff, none of which I understood, and at that point I just returned to the capital to do other things since I had no idea what I was doing. I did every other guild quest, so the Wyvern one is the only one left in the way.

I hope the game doesn't end up getting abandoned. Nothing disappoints me more than wasted potential...

THere's also a translated Katteban version, which as I understand it, is developed by someone not affiliated with the original VH team. I guess it has extra scenes, or changed scenes. The problem is that the creators, none of em whatsoever ever put comments or other checkpoints into their game, which means that all the events are a huge forest to wade trough and its just horrible to change em. Which is most likely one of the reasons why upgrades take so long, since they always have to find things again. Also theres a lot of unfinished forks and places in the game. They keep adding new stuff but never finish the old. Which kind of takes my motivation out of it. I believe that this is also why the katteban version exists, one of the authors left the team and is doing his own Version. However afaik its focused on Serana and the translations are far behind for it since barely anyone does it. Also newer versions tend to replace translated text whenever the author changes some dialogue, which is why the character creation is once again completely japanese. The game is great, but it lacks direction.

The game is not finished. There is one major developer who is adding Jungle based events and a few small developers. There are dead ends everywhere, and since it's an open contribution game, people are afraid to prune out old and unfinished content. There is not a full translation. It is being currently translated, it's at 85% complete and is growing at a pace of about 1% a month. (Ask me how I know.)
