Invisible body on custom armor

Guys, I'm trying to mod the Type 3 with bounce armors to have a little more sex appeal, but the thing is, I can modify the meshes on 3DS max and the textures show there, I can export it to NIF and put it on the DATA folder, but when I open the game and try to load the armor, my entire body disappear and I stand there hands and head floating in mid air, does any of you know the cause or how to fix it?

I can provide more details if it's necessary, I'm trying to bring a mod to life but this chimera refuses to rise.

The armor I'm trying to modify is:

Data\meshes\Armor\wastelandsettler01\f\outfit.nif

And here's a SS that what it looks like in 3DS:

Invisible body when armor is equipped tends to be a missing armor mesh, in my experience. Are you sure it was properly converted? Try previewing the model in both the GECK and Nifskope.

As an aside, I can't be certain what exactly you're looking for, but it may already exist, more or less.

Thanks for the quick reply Zippy, I saw the link and it's something like that but por Type 3 instead of BNB, and as for the question you asked me, I can see the mesh on NifScope, is shows normally but on GECK I can't, it fucks everything up, and I'm following tutorials on to import and export from 3DS to NIF, and the tutorial is on this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL840208C450329142

This one above is for skyrim, but as It's NIF exporting I don't think it has a difference, and I tried this one too: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/3ds_Max_armor_to_Fallout_New_Vegas

But neither way I can see it on GECK, or in the game, just in NifScope

Edit*

As I banged my head on the keyboard again, I found the last part on the tutorial that commands me to copy the branches from a vanilla armor onto my armor, since I was altering an already done armor, I thought it was not necessary, but as I see this might be the problem.

Ok tested with the tutorial again and not a clue where the problem is, and now the GECK crashes everytime I try to open the armor on it, I'll put the NIF i've been working on attached here, so if any of you guys can take a look it would be awesome.

ouitfit.nif

Edit*

I worked on the NIF one more time and got this other nif that is at least not crashing GECK, but it doesn't show anyway...

DONE2.nif

I tried Done2.nif and it was crashing GECK for me. I checked with nifskope, the shaders were wrong. I corrected them and it managed to work on GECK, but the outfit was all distorted, it seemed bad weighting. I imported on Blender, I checked the weight and it seemed fine, so I simply exported. File size was pretty different, I tried on GECK and it was working.

Unfortunately I can't help you with 3ds, but my guess is you are using wrong export settings, because on the rest of the mesh everything seemed fine to me.

EDIT: what about the blender file you attached on the other post? you need to check that too?

That blender doesn't chrash GECK, but i doesn't show inside the game either, my guess is that the shaders are also wrong, if you could confirm this for me I would be grateful ^^

import/export setting for 3dmax

btw using 3dmax for fallout is almost the same as for skyrim, import skelly/body/armor, adjust the armor, skinwrap it export, copy/paste the shaders in nifskope, if it don't work you did prolly something wrong then

edit just loaded the nif into 3dmax, you have the bsdismember set to body/leg, change it to torso for the armor parts, prolly the reason it don't show ingame

Thank you for this, I'll try to work with some more and will report back :D

Well I know for skyrim if the BSDismemberSkinInstance Partitions in a nif do not match with what is selected in the .esp that will cause invisible stuff.

I ran into a similar problem with my custom outfits, and improper shader settings would cause the body not to appear.

The problem was mainly with shaders, I'm still tinkering with the settings, but I'm using the nif A.J. did and it's working, when I have more time I'll try to release a WIP with this kind of armor for Type 3 with Bounce.
