Guest Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Hello I'm a super-noobie if it comes to modding. I haven't found any tutorial on this. No one seems to reply on the mod's comment section, nor Nexus forums. I'm trying to add "Animated Animal ears for humanoid" I did everything the description says but I cannot continue further. Description on how to create it Quote Open up the creation kit, create a head part, set it to either MISC or Facial hair (other slots may also work, only tested on those though.) After that set the model under model, make sure the Tri file is the one of the same name. On the side there will be a drop down to select the form list of the race, set it to the appropriate head parts of your race. Look up how to add parts to existing races elsewhere. I've got the correct headpart, correct tri file with its mesh but I have no clue what to do next? The race morph, chargemorph, etc... Basically everything that isn't in the description + the red text. Also, I'm using a race mod and want the ears on that race. (Doesn't matter if Khajiit race has it too) Hope my modding-stupidity doesn't bother you people? Thank you!
Akzyra Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Can't open CK at the moment, but look how other headparts are assigned to a race/a collection of races. Seach Beards or something. And Google some tutorials. You need to assign the headparts to something like "All Races except Beasts" if you want only himanoids to use them. Should work fine with custom races. Sorry, hope that gives you something to work with and someone else can help more.
gelgaroth Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 If all you want is animated ear this mod adds craftable ears and tails you can just equip. No screwing around in CK http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58165/?

No screwing around in CK http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58165/? This is different. These ears are not hdt at all. The reason I like these so much is due the fact they change their "animation" to the type of mood your character is (happy, sad, fear, disgust, etc...) Having this mod is not a must for me. It's just a perfect immersion to my Skyrim character.
Akzyra Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Looked at it again: Does "Animated ears for general race" work for you? It is listed as Optional. If it doesn't I can try to fix it.
Guest Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Looked at it again: Does "Animated ears for general race" work for you? It is listed as Optional. If it doesn't I can try to fix it. There's only 1 esp in the file and nothing else. I've placed it in my skyrim folder. What do I do with it now? Did it change anything? I literally have -1% knowledge on modding.
Akzyra Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 You need both the main file (assets) and the optional file (esp). I tested it for my custom race and it worked.
Guest Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 You need both the main file (assets) and the optional file (esp). I tested it for my custom race and it worked. Can you place screenshots (in spoilers) of each step you did to make these ears for a custom race? Please
Akzyra Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I just installed the 2 files from the modpage. The Main and the Optional file. As said, if the custom race is properly created as a humanoid it should work. The ears are applied to all but beast races. I DID NOTHING IN CK.

Thx! That was easier than it looked like! I thought I had to make all these things in Creation Kit. You just saved my character's life m8!
