MCM problems

Ok so to make it short: I have some mods installed that work (i think) but it requires mcm. And everytime i check mcm in the mod manager, the game crashes when i load a game or when i start new and it gets to the waking up part.

NO idea whats wrong. maybe even just the load order, so in case it is i am posting it here:

PS: i forgot how to make Spoiler windows....

You can use LOOT to sort it, or use FOMM instead which will tell you which ones are wrong (and color them, and prevent launching the game). Otherwise you need to read the instructions for the mods you've installed, but here's one free tip: sexout.esm needs to be before anything else that starts with 'sexout'.

NMM sucks for this, unless it's fixed in newer ones (I am still 0.53.2) so using that rather than FOMM, it's a manual process.

Click on an ESM and then make sure that anything listed on the right side as a "master" is higher up in the load order. You have many that look wrong at a glance, not just the sexout.esm.

ok i feel so stupid right now. I installed FOMM and it won't let me auto sort load order. It says to check for update, so i went to there and as soon as i click it "something bad" happens and it closes

Install my FOMM found here in non-adult downloads. Not that old crap from nexus.

FOMM

LOOT

https://loot.github.io/

FNVedit

There are videos on Google that you can search for to install it correctly if you don't like the one provided at Nexus. Hint. Not installed like other mods. Not needed at this point.. but you eventually will need/want it.

Use the current FOMM and uninstall all the mods (reverse order of how you installed them if possible)

Uninstall the current FOMM

Install current FOMM (linked above. Prides version)

Start it. (might have to start your game once first.. )

You will see many colors on the left side. They show order conflicts and other important stuff. Fix them as advised. Or,, Install Loot. Start LOot and then run it. It will show you games (if you have more than one installed like Skyrim etc) choose your game and run. You will get a report afterwards.. No need to worry about it right now.

Now your order should be correct. Test by starting Fallout New Vegas.

Alternately you can install FnVedit. Run it.. Select all your mods and it will give error as it finds a master out of place. Close it .. fix the error then start it over again until it completes At this point your master/plugins should be in proper working order AND if you have any missing mods.. requirements you would have found those out as well.

i reinstalled the entire game. added nvse and the mod configuration menu. started the game to see if it works alone with those two. crashes. I remember a year or so back i tried installing mods and MCM didn't work then either. Any ideas why that is?

Posted

You installed really old versions of both or you're not using the nvse launcher to start the game or... who knows. You're not following the directions somewhere along the way. Read them carefully.

installed both again. First nvse. game worked fine. but as soon as i install the MCM (with FOMM) it crashes the game. and yes i checke the readmes and i have everything it needs

I just wanted to make sure that it says "launch nvse". That at least means NVSE is installed correctly, or probably is. Attach the nvse.log file in your game directory.

Well here's a good example of not following instructions.

I said "nvse.log"

You decided that meant "nvse_readme.txt"

I'm starting to lose hope that this will ever work for you.

Sparten, I hate to sound like a dick. It's obvious you can write, but you're not doing too hot with this reading thing. Adding mods to the game may not be for you.

Ok you just without knowing helped me out. My game was the stupid nogore version or whatever and apparanty i had to download that seperate dll for it.

done that. Now it works... Thanks!

i'm gonna leave this non-solved though incase i need help after installing all the mods again. but if all should work out then i'm done.
