Teddar Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Hi all. I have a weird bug with my skin textures. Sometimes when I load up a save i get black skin textures and have to re-start the game a few times to get rid of it. Im using SG Textures renewal overwritten with Realgirls V5. I have a GTX980 running the 347.52 driver and no ENB installed. If i zoom the camera in close to the body, the textures appear, further out its all blackness. Anyone got a clue what might be causing this? Thanks in advance.
zenna11 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 tink like this happen when its low memory or texture conflict you can do some tests remove you texture from your folder and you see if this change anyting or try use other texture
Teddar Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 Hmm, low vid card memory or ram? I have 4096 vid and 16 gigs ram so i should have more than enough. That said, i am using the large real girls texture. Maybe i'll switch to medium and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion
Content Consumer Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Same thing happens to me occasionally. No idea what causes it. Save and exit always works for me, but sometimes (very rarely) switching cells seems to do the trick. Sometimes it affects my player, sometimes NPCs. Sometimes both. I have 16 gigs RAM, and 2gb VRAM. I do believe it *might* be a mesh issue... I first started noticing when I switched to Kendo's UNP jiggly body. Not saying it wasn't there before, because it started happening around that time, and I can't pin it directly on one single cause.
PsychoMachina Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Running low on vram can cause this. The cause is either the textures are missing mipmaps or contain bad mipmaps. Simple solution is to use Optimizer Textures (Ordenador) to optimize the textures and create or remake the mipmaps.

It's not the standard problem with running low on VRAM, where you get black or purple textures replacing other textures. When this happens, it only happens to NPCs (or the PC) and, if you get close enough, the black texture disappears revealing the normal texture underneath. I do recommend, as PsychoMachina said, running Ordenador for anyone who's running low on VRAM, though. Excellent utility.
