New Vegas or Fallout 3?

Hello! I am curious about which fallout game I should purchase. I really only have money for one of them through steam, and I plan to mod them up, maybe make them pretty pervy or something, who knows... :3

Anyway, it seems like a lot of mods are discontinued for NV! Are a lot of them or more of them the same way for FO3? Is there a more active modding scene in one compared to the other? I'm leaning towards NV, just because I've played SO much of FO3. There are a lot of mods to really rejuvenate FO3 though, it seems there's also a lot for NV too.

Putting aside the base game and just focusing on how active modders are, which one would you guys recommend?

Both games have had their modding scenes cool off considerably.  Some of the simpler mods can be made for one game, and then ported to the other a bit later.

Thumb through some mods for each game and try to find out which game will be fresher for you.

If you play it for Sexout, you should pick Fallout New Vegas.

Later, you can buy Fallout 3 and play it with Tales of the Two Wasteland mod (TTW).

If you don't want to wait for a Steam sale that sets the price of both games at $4.99 (the price that I purchased them for on PC), I'd have to recommend Fallout: New Vegas despite my own over-all preference for Fallout 3 due to it having a wider variety or mods both for general audiences and adults only audiences, whether it be SexOut,the Futanari Equippable mod,BNB bodies and armor replacer,Robert's Male Body(it and the BNB are available for Fallout 3, though, with a few less clothing options),The Doll House, some of Millenia's best weapons mods, Caesar's New Regime, the SomeGuy quest series or even the Shoujo Races and Fox Races for both player characters and NPCs.

Honestly I played both, but I found New Vegas to be a much more fun experience, more adult oriented in the vanilla game compared to Fallout 3 (I guess Obsidian Entertainment is for something), some nostalgic guys may say FO3  was better but I don't think so, in both terms of graphism, gameplay and even the map.. I mean there's so much more.

I played the original Fallout 1 and 2, and to me NV feels more like a "true" Fallout 3 than the actual Fallout 3 does. But that's not what you asked...

For modability I'd vote New Vegas due to NVSE (New Vegas Script Extender). It's more developed and supported than FOSE, the Fallout 3 version. It is also more versatile, and makes things possible in NV that would make FO3 spontaneously combust.
