At My Wit's End With This Damn Game (Archive Invalidation Issue?)

You know, one lovely thing about New Vegas is that there's never any shortage of bugs to make the game literally unplayable, especially if you play with mods. I have been struggling with this issue for MONTHS to no avail, and I'm about ready to delete this damned game and every file associated with it.

 

Simply put, the game works fine. For about a minute. Then I try to use a workbench / reloading bench and for one, all of the options are bunched up into a tiny mess of text in the corner of the screen. It doesn't end there. If I enter another area through a loading screen, immediately all custom meshes and textures act as if they're missing or Archive Invalidation just turned itself off while I'm in-game. And for some obscure reason I can't pause the game. Everything that rendered properly before the loading screens will now fail to do so and turn into the infamous missing mesh model. I've tried every possible method of Archive Invalidation I could to no avail. I'm fairly sure the game just screwed itself.

In the interest of helping you guys help me, here's my load order for reference. I've already reinstalled the game, deleted every mod and reinstalled them. I'm out of ideas.

EDIT: Okay, it's not Archive Invalidation related. The .ini files don't change after entering a loading screen. Something is causing the game to fail to load meshes and textures after walking through a door.

Disappearing tex, can't pause = plugin limit, or plugin record limit, or whatever it really is. Either way, reduce the number of mods you have.

I'll give that a shot. I've been going through my mods list and enabling them in groups, then entering/exiting the cell that the problem usually occurs in, and I haven't spotted the problem yet. But I swear I've had more mods than this running in the past. I'm guessing it's a specific one that's causing it.

I haven't looked at your load order, but did count them. You have 171 mods. I'm fairly sure that there is a circa 140'ish weird esm/esp mod limit on NV, (not the 255 of Oblivion/Skyrim). I've never been able to get over 136 on my NV setup's without it screwing up anyway. (Can't find the links, but I think this is a factual statement).

I've never been able to get over 136 on my NV setup's without it screwing up anyway. (Can't find the links, but I think this is a factual statement).

After enabling all my mods about five at a time it seems, for some obscure reason that IMPACT is causing the issues. I've tried disabling other mods and enabling IMPACT but the issues come all the same. :I That is excessively weird. Thanks for the advice, though. Guess it's time I get my addiction under control. Heh.

Here's the stupid, unintuitive part - you actually have to remove the plugins you're not using entirely.  Even if it's unchecked, the game still loads the data but just doesn't use it.  If it's a problem with the plugin limit and not an actual mod, disabling mods won't fix anything.

is like DoctaSax and Loogie say. i was having the same problem like you in last i did what doctasax and loogie say. but in that time i never ask here for help but i am glad that problem is not only my, in that time i start experimenting my self now i only have 120 mod and i use all the mod and went i install a quest mod i play the quest from the start to finish after that i delete that quest mod. i only use the mods i use the most.
