"New" NMM 0.60.0a feature

Profiling might be useful for testing out a certain mod combo with a new game quick, just to see how it works, and if. And -if- you can keep your savegames apart, then yes, you could, just in theory, run two different characters with two different setups at the same time. Just...does anyone really DO that? I...don't. I play one character at a time, and despite I also mod, I have never understood why I'd need MO for anything - and profiling is the only thing it really has going for it over NMM (which is probably the reason why they implement it in the first place). Needless to say that I couldn't care less about that feature. I like to keep things simple and the current NMM is the only mod manager I ever need. *shrug*

  • Profiles are not a theory. They have been used extensively in MO for quite some time. Perhaps all the way back to the begining of MO creation.
  • Yes there are many that run more than one profile.
  • MO has Virtual filing system which means nothing touches your Skyrim folder. Nothing installed all ran at game start. Clean.
  • Also has conflict resolution. Not at the time of installation but anytime you want.
  • You can hide files as well to resolve conflicts.
  • Easy to find a problem. With Sexlab and SOS there was a change in one of the files that caused problems. A simple look over and saw that the name that was prompted when ran was in the conflicts.. well move one below and test.. done. With NMM you have to play with installing and uninstalling.
  • Which brings me to the last part. You NEVER have to uninstall a mod for another mod, newer version or even a conflicting version. Just click/unclick and done.

Now .. NMM is simple, direct and a works like most other mod managers that people are use to. For this reason it might be the best solution for individuals especially if they don't play much with characters, testing, or need lots of very complex unknown mods. That is they understand exactly what their mods that they use do and where they conflict. NMM is a perfectly adequate mod manager for this.
