This... This is bothering me soooo damn much right now x .x;

Sometimes I have 95 Body overlays Showing.. Somtimes I have 9.. Sometimes I have 42... Its annoying... it -really- is.. Especially when I should have 100+
The same for Makeup WHICH. sometimes don,t even appear. At all. Even though despite the fact that there is three makeup/Face overlays... right there on my face xD; I know like.. two other people that has this issue, asked for help in vain.. Well.. I want to ask you guy's help and see what we can do... because this needs to be fixed x .x;

Ive had the same (noticable) issiue with eye color btw. Sometimes I have them all and other times I only have like half of them. Never really checked overlays since I dont change them much

My eyes have been... completely fine always o -o; I have over.. 150 ? Or something like that. And I always have them.

is that with the same race?

if you install demonica, demonica eyes won't be available with a breton

and ks hair won't be available with a  demonica

it's the same for all races (if a nose is only available for an argonian, you won't have it with a nord)

Its with the same race... but Its not because of my eyes. Its the.. Tattoos Overlay. At least.. My problem is.

The Overlay I chose which.. appeared before.. Still works and Is showing on my body. But when I go to the Body overlays.. And Press T to change the texture. The Selection coming from that one Overlay mod I have installed, Doesn't work. While... its still showing onto my body.

I noticed that problem too, in fact it happens if I activate "rutah tattoo pack" (I can't remember well) and other overlays plugins at the same time. I'm forced to choose that plugin alone or none of them work at all, hell, even some sliders -as expressions, or extra tab- refuses to work.

I've been having the same issue since October. Maybe the end of September I can't remember that far back. I've brought it up a couple of times, but since no one else seems to be having the issue, I let it go. I thought that it was down to a weak processor, but I've gotten a new computer in the last month and it's still doing the same things.

I've been testing it again recently and have redoubled my efforts now since someone else has shown up with it besides me. It happened once to my bf, but he doesn't use that many overlays and it's fine for him now.

I've tested several different times and it's always jumpy, based on switching sexes, re-opening the showracemenu, and it doesn't seem to care which ones. But I always have the problem when I install more than 3-4 esp's.

I've even started a new profile recently that doesn't have anything in it except for character stuff needed to try and figure it out.. (again... for the 10billionth time)

My load order for overlays and racemenu. With the conflicting files shown (notice it's only citrus head and that has nothing to do with it because it was doing it before I got citrus head) I haven't got older screenshots and whatnot because of the harddrive switch. They somehow got lost.

With all these, there's nothing that shows up when you start a new game, completing racemenu, then reopening, gives you some overlays in the makeup tab, and switching sexes while in the same session of racemenu (not exiting out of it) makes them disappear again. (or reappear depending on what you did first)

Can see the different combinations I tried (And more, just didn't take screens of all of them...) and they all happened on different esp's. I don't have anything overwriting racemenu, I've cleaned them all of conflicting scripts, repacked all the tariensoul that I wanted into one esp (it only contains 48 individual overlays.)

New games, nord race, I have taken so many pictures of this same issue it makes my eyeballs bleed. I've just given up hope.

It isn't completely random and it isn't completely consistent either. The only consistency is I can get it to do it all the time. And with all my esps active I can guarantee it's a crapshoot and I don't get anything. It makes me a sad kitty.

About the eyes. I know that some sliders and some options won't show up until you exit out and reopen racemenu if you're using alt start. That happens to me with the hair and eyes and some other body sliders. This isn't the same issue.

Attached files are just a sample of the 105 I took this morning to help illustrate. What I uploaded is from two of the sessions that acted up. (starting new game, checking both sexes, exiting racemenu, reopening racemenu, switching sexes)

For me.. its apparently the sheer amount of Overlays I have that spreads throughout the makeup, body, foot, hand and face Overlays. Seems like.. if I have too much.. everything bugs out. and some shows.. some don't. and etc. Sooo... yea... I still have the problem and such.

Yep, It's what it does to me. I've been able to narrow down by trial and error that it doesn't matter the combination, it'll just bork. Before 3.0 came out, it didn't matter the combination and it'd bug out over 200-350 overlays.

That sucks :/ Soooo... something happened in the 3.0 transition ?

I don't think so, all I know is it started happening for me back in October, round-abouts. I've noticed it reacted differently (now I can have 3-4 overlay esp's active rather than total count) when I installed 3.0, that's all. But that's still slightly different for you. I still can't hit 300 overlays total I guess.

I couldn't get any information about other people able to reproduce the exact same issues. I even had someone else helping a couple months later and they couldn't reproduce it. Back then I thought it was a weak processor. But now I can't say that because my processor is now more powerful than the bf's. All I know is I've got an assload of overlays and they don't play nice despite being repackaged properly. You're the only other one that's had even the closest issue to what I've seen.

Have you been able to reproduce stability when reducing overlays esp?

I don't know about stability.. didn't do much testing. but two times out of three(only did it three times.) It loaded all of them just fine.. the only time it didn't load. The Makeup page didn't have anything. Quick save, quick load fixed that. (I think... ) But quick save and quick load only.. loaded.. or Unloaded Some of the overlays.. when I had a bunch of overlays. And sometimes The makeup tab would still be blank.

Few things at work here.

1.) Script lag/load error. Each RaceMenu plugin has to load its own set of scripts to call the textures. If these scripts aren't loaded then the texture entries aren't called and they don't appear in the menu.

2.) Bad/outdated scripts. Some of the older RaceMenu overlay packs included BASE RaceMenu scripts (outdated as well) that are conflicting and overwriting the RaceMenu Plugin itself when they are being called. They need to be repackaged and scripted without the offending scripts.

For example the sole script of my Overlay is:

What do you mean by "Anything else included" There shouldn't be anything in there.. Right ? Its tattoo overlay and warpaints.

Hiya Aydoo.

1. Doesn't apply to me personally because it does it even when there's only racemenu, skyui and alt start running.

2. Doesn't apply to me because I repackaged and recompiled them all (as you can see, nothing is conflicting with my racemenu) You're the one who taught me how.

Fully tested in my post above (again, for the 10billionth time) and as you know, many, many times before. Now, I can't even blame a weak processor like I did when we last went through all this. That's why I didn't bring it up anymore after the fact because it was still doing it. Still doing it with a computer that's actually better than my bf's powerhouse now (except graphics) And it's still doing it, with just a tester profile running. I even tried running with the scripts in skyrims data for a while like Expired suggested and that still didn't do anything.

I can't seriously believe my race menu alone is so finicky that even with a more powerful computer, I can only have a couple of these esp's running to hook into it. The only solution to this I still see is repackaging the ones I want into 4 esp's (keeping below the 128 texture limit) Still hadn't done that but actually might now that I know a little more about scripts. It's just a pain to try and figure out which ones I like in each...

She means that if you look in the mod packs, there's be racemenu scripts in there. That means its dirty and those have to be removed. They'll actually say racemenu.....pex

Your script lag is what's causing these problems.

Right now in 3.0 and previous versions all RM plugins are tied to the hard limit of 128 entries in an array.

(Maximum number of tattoos that can be called in one instance of the quest is 128)

Which means if you have more you need more quest instances with a script attached to load the extra stuff.

Next version of RM, Expired makes use of an SKSE function to extend the arrays beyond the 128 limit. So you can start combining tattoo packs and stuff into just 1 script instance at load.

Next version of RM, Expired makes use of an SKSE function to extend the arrays beyond the 128 limit. So you can start combining tattoo packs and stuff into just 1 script instance at load.

This.. Doesn't make any sense though... Because I have WAY more than 128 Entries right now with my safe version where the Overlays load correctly.

Sooo... whats the problem then o -O ?

Your script lag is what's causing these problems.

Right now in 3.0 and previous versions all RM plugins are tied to the hard limit of 128 entries in an array.

He means per pack, You can't have anymore than 128 per pack. That's a rule you have to stick to when making the overlay mods.

What do you mean by "Anything else included" There shouldn't be anything in there.. Right ? Its tattoo overlay and warpaints.

She means that if you look in the mod packs, there's be racemenu scripts in there. That means its dirty and those have to be removed. They'll actually say racemenu.....pex

Yes, it also means that the overlay scripts may need to be updated as they may use incorrect call scripts in the overlay script itself. Older overlays were made different before 2.xx.

I would take a look at them in the CK or with Notepad++ and see if they use the same header and structure as the sample I provided. Note you can substitute facepaint, bodypaint, and the other categories for warpaint in the script.

As for script lag, what blabba is saying is that when you open Racemenu it has to call the scripts to load the texture. These scripts aren't loaded or used by the game until Racemenu opens. So if you have 50 of them, then Racemenu has to try to load them all in a very small amount of time, which because of Skyrim's limitations it may not be able to do.

In any event the solution is to use less of them. I mean for any *one* character do you actively use a paint from ALL packs? If no then disable the ones that particular character doesn't use, and re-enable them for the ones that do (eg: MO profiles.) If yes, consider using less, plus it'll give you more esp room to have more other stuff ;p
