Countess of Chorrol is a bitch

For some reason, her disposition started at 0, and I can't get it to raise. I tried MCS, which is supposed to set it to 100 by default, console command moddisposition, it says her disposition is raised but it stays 0, and charm scrolls. Nothing raises her disposition. Has anyone ever had a similar issue and found a fix?  It wouldn't bother me so much, but I can't do the stolen painting quest.

This should of been posted in the oblivion technical support thread and not the general support thread which has nothing to do with any games. When posting a problem with a game post it in the area for the game that you are having problems with. When posting a problem it is also important to post your load order as we have no clue what you have installed into your game.

I did try the console command, then tried with other npcs, and it worked with them, just not her.

Well your thread is about a technical problem that you are having with your game. Not sure on a lot of the stuff that you have as I have never seen or used them. Have you run BOSS and manually sorted mods that don't get moved like lovers mods? Yup, ran boss,cleaned mods with tes4edit, checked unrecognised mods and cleaned them. Everything works right, except for her.

I've never seen this happen before, and I've done this quest before with these mods installed, in this order. Is it possible for a single npc to break? Just crossed my mind, I'm going to try to disable her, then re-enable her.

OK Tes4Edit is a good idea to find all Mods that alters the Countess.

Load all Mods  ( wait half an hour till all your Mods are loaded) then open the Oblivion tree and then the None-Player-Charater. At the top click "Name" and the NPCs are sorted alphabetically so you can easy find her ( If you know her name....shit , what was her name ? )

Then in the big right window you see all Mods that altered the Countess and the values of her. Perhaps one Mod set her personality to 0.

If you don't see/find anything wrong/strange memorize all the Mods , close Tes4Edit and deactivate those Mods . If the bug is gone activate Mod by Mod till you find the guilty Mod.

Actually, I have close to 330 thanks to gecko, but as I said, I've used all these before and never ran into this issue. And just finished with checking in edit, the only mods that touch her are OCOv2, and the bashed patch. The disable/enable didn't work. I even made sure to be in a different cell. I even have 1 fame 0 infamy, I think she's broke.

 

Also checked the mcs, moddisposition, and charm scrolls on bandits, they like me afterwards, lol.

Naughty_Joana ? "once upon a time" I played it , thought she is near the Imperial City and don't travel ? Why is a Bravil cell in her Mod ?

TES4Edit only clean references and identical to Master entries but if a cell is changed TES4Edit does not know if it is right or wrong.

Such things you must clean manually.

 

example:

You use the Marihuana Mod , there is a landscape change in the "Abandoned Mine" World cell, has nothing to do with the Mod. Delete it.

 

In many Mods I found changed indoor cells ; Fog Near 0.000001  instead of 0.000000   , no other changes , no new items no NPC. TES4Edit does not remove the cells, you must do it manually.

Edit: the countress; have tried to disable, enable her or resurrect ( with console) perhaps that fix her.

Well, I'm thinking the only way she's gonna get fixed is to start a new game, not worth it for the stolen painting quest. I'll console cheat that one. Who knows, maybe that will please her majesty. lol. I've wasted too much time, mine and others, on a probably never able to be repeated issue. Thank for trying to help.

Edit: Re-bossed, all mods were clean. Slightly different load order. Dis started at 5, but went to 0 after asking about investigation. Still not able to raise with any before mentioned method....... yup, soon as I get the house      >_>   maker her my slave, whore her out, send her to Rena's dog shop, and sell her.      lol

Console codes are fine just be aware that using them to pass a quest could open different problems later on.

Not even going to do this quest. I'm sure most of here have done all the vanilla quests more times that we can remember. I just wanted to kill some time. Now, with the mods I have, and the new game I have to start, I've got my own story.

 

Adopted by Glenroy, raised in the town of lindum, I'm told of my adoptive fathers death. Upon entering my home after this terrible news, I'm attacked by a mythic dawn agent. I grow bitter towards the mythic dawn who killed him, and the blades, for making him lead a secret life of lies.

 

I found an oblivion.ini edit that keeps the game from reloading on the death of essential character. I'm hoping that means I can kill Martin and just leave the MQ wherever it happens. Lol. If I, for some reason want the MQ to be finished after that, I have the mqsdone mod, which finishes it, adds the statue in bruma, and gives all the perks that would have come along with actually doing it.

 

Hoping to do a graphic story with it. Pics and descriptions as I play. Should be fun.

 

I'm not a fan of using the console unless absolutely necessary.
