Sexual preference: male

So by default, all creatures in my game appear to be homosexual. I'm not against homosexuality but I play a woman who feels unloved the way things are.

I use:

SexLab Aroused - which tells me every creature I select uses "SexLab Sexuality" which by default seems to be set to male,

SexLab - which doesn't specify gender orientation at all, and

Aroused Creatures - which tells me they would if they could.

How can I change the default setting?

First of all, are you sure it's ~all~ creatures? How many have you tried?

Second, I'm not sure how to change default sexuality for creatures, but I do know that you can use Sexlab Aroused's hotkey to target them (make sure you're using them and are close enough to be in 'talking range'), then go to Aroused's MCM menu, where you can manually set that particular creature's sexuality.

I've asked this question myself and didn't get anywhere.

I tried wolves, werewolves, bears, dogs, and sabrecats. And I know about the manual option but I really don't want to do this for every single creature I meet.

Well, for me, not every creature defaults to being interested in men, which is why I asked how many animals you've tried... not just how many kinds of animals. Maybe you've just been unlucky so far?

Sexlab (The core addon) seems to have some means of attributing a gender preference to every actor it detects. But I don't see anything in the MCM menu that lets you specify what preferences are assigned. For me, it seems to be pretty random, and so I only have to adjust a npc or creature occasionally, when they end up being set to prefer males.

Addon mods like Aroused and Attraction have settings to automatically go with whatever Sexlab assigns for any given NPC. So, this question should probably be raised in the main Sexlab thread.

I tested quite a few creatures.

Maybe it has something to do with my character's gender. She's female but by default, Alternative Start creates a male, and Beeing Female immediately lashes to that and declares "player=male" no matter what you change via showracemenu afterwards. I had one character which registered as both male and female in the active effects. So I installed Beeing Female after the char creation process this time but perhaps one of those gender defining switches confused SL.

I don't understand what the bolded part means? When you start character creation, either with a mod or without, the character is male but you can switch it right away. The game doesn't register what you are until you exit character creation. It's only if you completely finish character creation but then go back into the 'showracemenu' and change it that you can cause issues.

Beyond that, I do kinda find it funny that there are so many animals that prefer men. Does it really affect anything? I personally have never checked this, and not had issues interacting with animals ever.

You change the SexLab orientation on the first pane (I can't remember if it's called Stats or Log or Overview, or what). It's in the right-hand column, one of the top entries. It is heterosexual by default and you click on it to change it (cycles Bisexual then Homosexual). I'm not sure how you're encountering an issue as a female player though - practically all mods are designed for heterosexual relationships with the PC being female.

Thanks! But it has always been heterosexual, I've never changed it. This is weird. I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Hm. I don't know what led me to believe that it was not affecting all creatures, but all of the creatures I have tried recently have been set to preference: male by sexlab. When I check them with Sexlab Attraction's hotkey, they say [Creature] Doesn't seem interested in you, until I manually go into Sexlab Aroused and puppet master them into liking females. Only then does their arousal start rising..
