​Not sure if in the right criteria for this topic, so move this at will.

 

 

Note: I only heard about the game as of today. if theres a thread like this or you already know the game, please. Spoon feed me more information as judging by the game so far it looks promising. Hopefully, this game will not follow the dreaded path of "Destiny" where you only had 5 planets and each of them size of one battlefield map. Rip off.

 

 

No man's Sky.

(In my opinion) This game is just damn incredible. 

I just cannot explain it due to the share size of the game is "going" to be (I say going because currently it has 18 quintillion planets)

and if you don't know how big one quintillion is then

1 Million has 6 Zeroes. ( 1,000,000)

1 Quintillion has 30 Zeroes. (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000)

that's alot of planets huh. 

And from one of the people working on it said in his words not mine

(not exact words) each planet runs on an Individual Algorithm.

So some of the planets may be similar, some of the planets may look nothing alike but none of the planets are the same.

now that said. heres 30 facts copy/pasted from a site so may or not may not be true or may be changed throughout the production of the game. Plus ill add my own fact in there, may be true or may not. i have no information to back up if the fact is false, just information to back up its true.

 

 

1: No Man's Sky's universe IS infinite (so its HUGE)

2: You can only have one ship (sensing some realism here)

3: You can't customize  your ship - but you can find one that you like (hints that theres a wide variety of ships maybe?) 

4 Earth isn't Present, but you might find something close to it (Your dreams of visiting your own house in a game might come to life!)

5: You can play with your friends although Murray's previously said not to think of it as a multiplayer game (as much of a open world multplayer game it is, i imagine him not thinking it as a kill or be killed thing but more of a help me take down this fleet of insert alien name here thing. get my drift?)

6: You can take pictures (Desktop wallpaper anyone)

7: You can......SWIM UNDERWATER! (this game must be great even in Halo you cant swim!)

8: You can chop down a tree (hey look guys, we can RP Minecraft now!)

9: You can Choose to be a pacifist. Although that doesn't mean someone - or something - won't attack you (you can promote peace as much as you want! even though the "tough" guys still kill you expecting loot to squirt out your brains like borderlands and make themselves feel good about himself for killing a innocent human being! because people actually do that!)

10: Some planets are the size of earth (when he means size of earth he means, if it took you 2 months to walk from England to USA it would take you 2 months irl time to do the same distance on that planet, my friend told me that if everyone was to discover each planet it would take billion years IRL time)

11: You might visit a "dud" planet (as in completely worthless planet with nothing to explore on it, i mean come on pluto was a dud planet or was it?)

12: You have a Health bar (Which also means you will die)

13: You can land on Asteroids (if there land-able that means there something on them...right?)

14: The game....(omfg wait for it) features (here it comes,the big game changer) Black Holes. (nuff said)

15: You will "sometimes" get bored of playing it (hey i get bored of skyrim sometimes...Sometimes)

16: It has no (probably 2nd best feature besides black holes) Downloadable Content. (once you buy it. you own it. you dont need to buy features already implemented. because you already bought it)

17: (this may put you off but i assure you! it still great!) You can't select the gender of your character (kinda like how  you couldn't select the gender before you were born. this game getting way too real. but i like it!)

18: Not all planets can sustain life (MECH SUITS CONFIRMED!)

19: (this may also put you off but not as much as #24 trust me) You can't collect plants

20: (RIP Minecraft RPer's) You can't build a shelter

21: You can't teleport to your ship (looks like your walking back a couple miles after that walk on the beach m8)

22: You can't ( D: ) build a space station. (maybe its not so real, but is..?)

23: It has a shop (ingame currencys are the only currency in this game! no more P2W sh*t!!)

24: It has no nonplayer character (i honestly dont know what it means, does it mean we have no characters and just a floating camera?)

25: You Can't terraform a planet (would be pretty fun if you could i mean, you could create your own species with that, shamefully you cant D:)

26: You can't Destroy a planet. (seems logical not like your going to use subspace wormholes to plant a element inside the sun to disturb its core and blow itself up, leading to a mass destruction of that galaxy or anything. 10000 points if you can figure where i fount that one out)

27: You face many objective markers (good thing or bad thing. sounds like theres gonna be shitload to do since you can do  your own thing, like honestly dont like that planet? fly to another one enjoy that sun set on another planet

28: You won't notice any gravity differences between planets - your suit compensates. (only if he said suits and not suit)

29: You can't Reach the edge of the universe: "you can go into the darkness for as long as you want" (would be a nice place to clear your head huh)

30: Unfortunately, for the most game breaking thing, you cannot ride a dinosaur!

 

yes i know this a pretty lengthy thing just kinda wanted to get the word out there. but please dont hop on my hype train i have tendacies to hop on the wrong train being a xbone owner who pre-ordered destiny expansion past and watch dog hype train! but i still believe the word of this game should be spread.

and as for my own fact

SO FAR THERE'S NO LOADING SCREENS

 

This game is all about You.

The way it works is. it only generates what you can see then deletes what you cannot see. but because this happens so fast you feel like it was there all along even though it wasn't when you looked away. confusing? kinda.

We know the game will be ported we mean that it loses (lots) potential by being made primarily for consoles. Our lack of enthusiasm comes from seeing to many blast processing commercials throughout the years, if you can still get fascinated by numbers with lots of zeros then good for you.

Ah, thats where i can prove you wrong.

when you say "lots of potential" thats a lie with this.

the PC ports will be the full game. and as full game I mean. FULL. i don't mean shitty downscaled graphics with same content as consoles there actually making the PC ports alot more superior as it is made by a Indie company and not no shitty activision or EA, but i believe they receive help from ubisoft. which only problems Ubisoft cause is goddam launch date issues. like WoD release date every game they release. so you shoudn't expect the PC port to hold back because its going to be on console aswell. 

the console ports will be more of the peasantry you'd expect.

i mean the whole project was designed for PC but there gonna make it console-y by having stable framerates and basic controls 

The only reason its coming to console because Sony has good sense in what to buy. I guess.

But im not going to turn you in the right direction and make you buy this game im just simply putting out that the only reason your not looking forward to it because you'll think it will have restrictions because of hits inferior console port.

Divinity Original Sin is a game designed for PC than can maybe be ported to consoles, can you say without a doubt that No Man's Sky is the same and PS4 just happens to be first? If it is then good but I have not seen anything that leads me to believe so, link me somewhere if you think it proves your point.

If it surprises me then great but don't expect me to be hyped by a one with lots of zeroes, the rolling eyes from cell processor are all coming back to me.

Well since theres really not a lot to go on really the only reason  ps4 get it early because Sony bought it.

like how Sony pratically bought destiny and got a longer beta duration and more content. but that was published by activision that leaves increments of the devil on each game they touch.

 

The only proof i've manage to find that No Man's Sky will not hold back on PC because the original design was for PC Only until Sony 'Snagged' them.

But i do agree with this statement

I think the biggest question regards a PC version is whether it will be the same instance of the same universe that the PS4 game is running in

if this is true this will sure put many people off the game.

 

I’m guessing Sony have asked them to be tight-lipped on a PC version so it doesn’t affect ps4 sales.

 

But im not gonna sugar-coat it.

this game is being created by a indie team, a small group of people. the last thing they need is a mass Hype for the PC version and brag about how spectacular its going to be. not being made by a massive studio will probably effect this game's outcome and hopefully they don't run off the path its currently set at.

it has pretty high standards. which is mostly bad for games.

 

But don't forget theres Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen which I've heard alot of good things about

Yeah I've seen all of those they are all very ambiguous, I don't see it being anything special but I'll know for sure when it comes out it's useless to pass judgment right now. I only wish them luck.

but if it was made for consoles i would most likely not even pay attention to it at all. 

All I need to know that PC is there main Goal.

and hopefully they stick to the goal.

2 years later got confirmed abandoned.

hopped on the TESO train.

won't be surprised if the game turned to shit everything what looks promising gets bought by a big company and it just goes downhill from there.

i swear only company i trust is Bethesda and Ubisoft, just because only thing wrong with Ubisoft games is its launch which eventually gets fixed.

Why everything have to be online now. When I learned that elite is going to be always on-line I removed game instantly from list (and im huge fan of elite2). If I want to play online space sim I would go to play eve. And  No Man's Sky will be all online game, although they say that they want to make encountering another player very rare then why even bother!? I want to mod/cheat in my games
