New characters

I play Skyrim like a kid plays outside - I use the game as a platform and invent my own damn storyline where there's a ton of extra dialogue and it's all in my head.

If someone were to watch me playing skyrim, they would be very confused.

Yes. Before I started modding, I was a completionist. Now I can barely reach lvl 10 on a character without getting bored. Mostly because mods nowadays allow me to play those characters I always wanted to play as, but I have too many ideas and too many archetypes, so I end up OCDing the whole thing.

I start a character, then I find a bug, I go to fix the bug, maybe download a few new cool mods, restart a character and find another bug.

Repeat cycle.

One day though I'll have the perfect modded skyrim and play it to completion in peace.

Yeah we all think about that day, we should start a religion about it.

Will that day ever come? we can only hope, and cling to the prophecies

strongly agree with LibertyPrime and blabba. This highly moddable game makes me strive for Perfection, if something is amiss or smells funny I can't continue playing until all is perfect, one character is just not enough. Mods help me

Pretty much all I do in Skyrim now is make a character, do a quest or two to establish their back story or life, then get bored or get another idea and make a new character, and the obsessive cycle goes on and on and on. Even though I have my 'perfect' character(s), I just keep making more. I can't stop. I'd absolutely love to be able to actually play the game, but I find so much character customization far too distracting from the game's story and world...

Before I start a new game I pick a race, use Skyrim Unbound to pick a starting place (sometimes random) and then decide on a play style for my new character and one or two goals they can achieve in the game.  When the goals are met I'll keep playing if it is still interesting otherwise I'll start over.

Recently I had a Breton that simply wanted to get to the College of Winterhold to become the Archmage.  That was pretty simple and straightforward.

I also had a Redguard that came to Skyrim to aid the Empire in the Civil War as her main goal and the secondary was to build a home for herself in one of the holds using Hearthfire.  That one was a lot of fun and played it well beyond the two goals.

My most fun recently was playing a Bosmer.  I decided that she would be a hunter/alchemist with the desire to join the Companions.  Since she was a hunter I had her travel through the woods and barely go to the cities unless it was necessary.  She had a nice big camp outside of Riften and was almost completely self-sufficient.  Wound up becoming a bard too.  First character I ever played that didn't care one bit about collecting gold.  She was also one of my favorite looking characters.

I went the opposite way with my last character.  She was a high elf trader.  Her goal was to make 10,000 gold and own a home.  While that sounds easy I gave her no combat perks and put everything in speech, sneak and smithing.  She traveled with one follower usually but I made sure they weren't overpowering.  Also I have two mods that reduce gold accumulation and increase prices so making 10k wasn't easy.  Between staying at inns and paying for all food she never got ahead.  Plus, since she was a trader I had her stick to the roads.  I never made her goal and quit on the character.  I may try again.

I already finished the main story on both the console version that I own a copy of(Xbox 360) and the PC version and even got all of the achievements in both so there are no temptations to do anything other than experiment with different mods, try out different options of character build and make new characters.

Finishing the game in its purest state helps me to better appreciate the mods in subsequent playthroughs.

With the way script tends to mess up save games, updating and removing mods pretty much means new game every now and then.

Call me the lucky one here.

i've managed to add 178 mods and only really missing about couple mods i really want which i cannot add

basically i got so many mods that have scripts that if i was to install wet and cold right now i'd go from

2hrs without crashing to every 3 minutes.

so i find myself swappin mods like all the time.

BUT NOW. ITS COMPLETE! (95% complete but u know)

I CAN PLAY SKYRIM FOR MORE THEN 2 HOURS WITHOUT CRASHING!

truly a dream come  true.

I switch between characters all the time.

And I can't do the main story line again with any of them.

That is why I use Skyrim unbound for now.

Creating a character and seeing where you are thrown at, making the best of it and fabricating my own back story.

Until I get bored again.... then it is a new character and starting all over again ^^

I keep telling myself that I'm going to do a legit playthrough on master/ legendary and not cheat

Then I get to a point where I download a new armor, and I can't be bothered to get the materials to craft it so I just add it through console, then a quest will bug and I have to complete it via console

Then I'll download a new follower who turns out to be kinda overpowered or something.

Then I start thinking, well shit, I kinda messed this up didn't I.

Time to start over, this time I'll do it legit!
