Good thing you can easily see the Derps by their DP though.

Making a pose like Ducklips, Emo, Or any other shiz like that = Derp.

Not to Mention.. The AWFUL, AWFUL Grammar, Americans speaking English, worse than a European of the same age.

^Do they come in packs of thousands?

That's why I mainly use Facebook to chat in this Secret group with Non-Derpy, Partially /b/ro's.

Today's youth will always be dumb, no matter when you say it. 70s, 80s, 90s, kids and young adults will always find ways to do dumb things. Sites like Facebook just make it easier for everyone to see them be dumb.

I say this as a 25 year old that has worked for the public school system.

I don't use it

i don't hate it for this kind of thing

i hate it for their bullshit policies

wouldn't mind making one to stay in touch with some friends in another country, but the amount of shit they gather and the fact that you can't really be yourself on it stops me.

http://gawker.com/5885714/

this article is pretty interesting if you want to see how they act.

just going off on a tangent here their hypocritical stance on drugs enrages me to no end, anything but weed gets you 'escalated', which essentially means i make one post about getting fucked up on speed and i get searched at every single border crossing for the rest of my life.

oh, and something that's probably of interest to a few people here, lolicons are targeted for escalation too, i'm not talking about actual pedos, a 2D loli on your profile is enough.

Google will gather the same information that Facebook does. They just don't have to sell it to other companies, because they are an advertising company. Chances are high of them selling it, anyway, though.

I have it to stay in contact with a few friends that live across country and one that seems to travel from Brazil to Germany a whole lot. I have managed to gain 52 friends, most of them friends from college or family members that live in distant places. I have a monthly friends list cleaning that I do. I also give family and friends a warning before accepting their request that if I get a single spam of some lame ass game or some bullshit update that really has no purpose what so ever I will unfriend them in an instant. Other than that... I think I have been on it like 1 time since January 1st. I don't really hate it but I will say it is pretty much useless.

I still put up with Facebook, why? I have to keep in touch with society somehow when I'm not at school... so I have 4 choices.

1. Go to Twitter and see even more toolbags... along with minutely updated posts about their life, and their significant-other problems.

2. Go to Google+, which is as dead as Nicki Manaj's face

3. Go to Myspace, which at this point, is as dead as the Night Mother

4. Stay on Facebook until I get my phone back.

While I can't say I "hate" Facebook, I just don't see the need for it in my life. I'm so busy with lots of things, both online and offline, that I don't have the time to look at other people's walls and comments, let alone post my own. Secondly, I'm the kind of guy that doesn't need to be social. I have a select group of friends in real life that I can count on and those people are all I need. As for online friends, we have message boards (like LoversLab, for example) as well as emails.

I don't like facebook because it is like fast food in social environment, friends shouldn't be treated like fast food lol ;)

Personally I love FaceBook. I don't care about Google+ that much, it seems useless with FaceBook around. I also don't care for MySpace, it's just blah to me. I don't see why there are so many of the same site but it's really up to your preference I guess. I don't think that talking to people on FaceBook says you don't care about that person. I text through FB all the time, I think that is a lot better then just an email even though it might as well be the same thing sometimes. I also don't think I treat my friends as 'fast food' because we decide to talk through this social network rather then something else someone else deems better. I keep in touch with them through this very effectively and frankly, I wouldn't wanna change it for anything else. I have an extremely hard time going out in public for a few very personal reasons. Chatting through FB is a wonderful way for me to stay in touch.

I loved the pictures on the first post though, my friend showed me the dumb girl poses and the tough guy poses or whatever it was called, I love those. I don't really understand this "duck-face" thing people do now, I guess it's supposed to look badass or something? I dunno; like I said, I don't get it and I don't really care about trends. I also don't get why people, no matter what social thingy they are using, update where they are every time they step out of the house. That seems kind of stupid to me but to each their own I guess. (Seems like a REALLY bad idea for kids...)

I like what works. This works. As far as being dumb... I highly doubt that going on FB made that chick *that* stupid; as if she wouldn't have done that on any other social network lol Some people are just a lot dumber then you could ever expect, it's a fact of life.

I don't like it really, most of it just seems stupid. Lots of people have it so obviously it's a good way to keep in touch with family and friends who aren't in town anymore. I like Skype better, but I only have one contact on there. o_o

I like it, I have a fairly extensive friendslist, most of whom I don't actually get any updates from though, as I have cancelled my subscription to their posts since they never write anything interesting. But if it makes them happy to be on my friendslist I wont stop them.

What FB actually IS great for is subscribing to stuff you like, games, authors, movies, TV-series, politics, whatever. That way you get updates about your interests all gathered in one place withouth having to subscribe to a gazillion individual newsletters.

What is this... "e" of "mail" you speak of? I'm sure I've heard it in some ancient text. xD

xD

For my part I have no feelings for it, be it bad or good ones.

I just don't use it and have no need for it, I manage to stay in touch with all the close persons and if someone is beyond any modern way of communication then fb won't help much~

Only reason I'm even on Facebook is to keep in touch with my daughter in the Navy' date=' piss on the rest.

THat's the only reason I'm still there, because I have friends abroad and it's one of the few ways to keep in touch. If all my friends were near me, I wouldn't use Facebook.

I wouldn't call peeps in mi FL 'friends' cos that'd be a pathetic display for a virtual swinger party. They are 'acquaintances', if ever, they come and go, who cares. And I know what I'm talking about cos I even sleep with them every now and then... huh, virtually in Cyber Sex Space, of course.

For real friends I have quite different and faster communication media. Guess Facebookers just love to be in line with a current trend, not to be called outsider in a real life that is clearly setting out on the retreat to virtual life.

I guess it's for games or something, I don't really understand why people have hundreds of people on their 'friends list' when they don't care/know about them at all. That seems weird to me.

That...just doesn't make sense. It's a bad thing to have quick and easy conversations with your friends?

That's why I like Steam, I can easily talk to friends while in a game instead of having to text them or call them. This way I can still play my game and have a full conversation.
