Cynical Misanthrope Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 So, whenever I try to go to the LL main page or simply just using www.loverslab.com it keeps telling me that the site is down. Other forums/threads here works fine, but as soon I press "forums" or by clicking on my LL thumbnail in Firefox add-on "Speed Dial" I get this message: It's Swedish, and it means "the connection timed out" I guess something must be wrong on my end, but what could it be?

If one of the DNS servers you've been using gives you the wrong IP address for LL, you may experience occasional connection problems like that. Although it could also be a browser related problem, or a malware, or even ISP meddling. First of all, make sure that all your DNS servers give you the same IP addresses for LL consistently. Then try with a different browser, or try connecting from a different computer/virtual machine.

Then try with a different browser, or try connecting from a different computer/virtual machine. I am far from a tech guy, so I understood very little of what you said. However, I have scanned my PC with, Avast, MalewareBytes, and Spybot - Search & Destroy. Nothing found. I have tested with Chrome, and it gives me this message: All I know is, that I have a Dynamic IP. I played around with the DNS thingy, by using Google's Public DNS Service, but still have same issue. It's strange, it worked fine earlier today. Then I went to another site, went back, and voila, stopped working. It must had been like 5-10 minutes apart, when it worked until it stopped working.

I have, and still the same issue. Every other sites works just fine, Even LL, except the main page of the forums. And I have been thinking a little more, could it maybe be Router related?
bjornk Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Assuming you're using Windows XP/Vista/7/8: Here's how to find your DNS servers: Press Win + R keys Type "cmd" and press ENTER Type "ipconfig /all" and press ENTER Look for "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:" or "Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection" depending on how you're connected to the network and your DNS servers are listed there. If it's your router/modem IP address is listed there, then you may have to log in to router/modem and find out what your DNS servers are. Once you've found the DNS servers you've been using:Press Win + R keys Type "cmd" and press ENTER Let's say 8.8.8.8 is one of your DNS servers. Type "nslookup www.loverslab.com 8.8.8.8" and press ENTER. Repeat this for every DNS server IP listed above. If you get the same IP address(es) for LL consistently (141.101.124.103 and 108.162.207.103) then your problem is not DNS related. If it's not a DNS problem, you'll have to try with another browser and/or computer. Have to say, it doesn't sound like a DNS problem. You've either got a software/malware which interferes with your browser's connection or you've got an ISP related connection problem, such as a transparent cache/proxy that is not working properly.

AwfulArchdemon Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 What's that you're using? Is it Chrome? I had the EXACT same issue, and it turned to be Internet Explorer being crappy again. If that's not Chrome you're using, try it. It has worked ever since. Oh, and if you have CCleaner, there's an option you can 'Tick' that tells it to flush DNS caches for you. There are at least 3 ways to do it.
